Chapter 10: COVID-19

"I understand." Looking over towards his computer, Mari, Alya, Nino, and Adrien were all staring at me, wondering what my parents are talking to me about. Of course everyone, but Adri were on the screen.

"Please let Gabe and Adrien know about this situation before going any further. We love you!"

"I love you too, Mother and Father." I smiled.

"Wait!" I froze my finger at the end call button, "Can we speak to Adrien?" I nodded before walking over to the said boy. I took out one of by ear pods and placed it in one of his ears.

"Here, he is!" I giggled at Adri's weird reaction.

"Hello, sweetie!" My mother called out.

"Hello, Mrs. Taylor," Adri chuckled, "You too, Mr. Taylor."

"Likewise."

"We both want to see how you both are handling each other."

"He is an ass to me," I chuckled, feeling him elbow me in the side.

"No, I'm not!" He argued, "Besides, watch your language, young lady." We heard the chuckling of my parents.

"You two are so adorable together!" My mother gushes. We all laugh, thinking nothing of it. Well, that is what I presumed anyway.

I forced the heat away from my face, hoping that no one would notice. I would be lying if I said I haven't thought of Adrien in that way. Seeing how we were attached to each other's hips 24/7, it was just a matter of time before those thoughts ran through my mind. At this point, I know him better than anybody.

I wonder if he thinks that way too about me...

"Anyways..." My father continued, "Due to the circumstances right now, due to the virus, we think it is best for (Y/N) to stay with you guys for a little bit longer." Adri's eyes widen, giving me a sideways glance before altogether looking back at my phone.

"Really?"

"Yes, at the moment, the schools in the United States are going online. So there is no need for her to go back as we planned a couple of months ago."

"Alright, I'll inform my father about it as soon as he is available." Adri sighed, probably thinking of his dad, "I'm sure he is fine by it, seeing on how he has taken a liking to (Y/n)..." I frown, remembering the discussions of earlier about Gabe.

"That settles it!" My mom blurted out, "Thanks for talking to him on our behalf. It is crazy here at the office, and right now, we can't make time to talk to Gabe ourselves officially. We tried contacting him earlier, before calling (Y/N), but he seems to be busy..."

"It's okay, mom. We will do it as soon as he is free." I smiled.

We said our goodbyes and ended the call shortly after that.

"So~" I turn my head towards the monitor where Alya, Nino, and Mari's faces were, "What's going on?"

"I'm going to stay with Adri until further notice!" I wrap my arms around Adri's neck before putting my head on top of his, "Looks like your going to have to deal with me longer than what you would have liked, Adri."

"Awe, man!" He joked, placing one of his hands on my arm, "I can barely survive with you being here now..." Applying some pressure, I squeezed my arms in annoyance.

"Come on, blonde. I'm not THAT bad!" I teased, feeling a tick mark rise on my head, "At least I'm not the one who smells like stinky cheese because you are obsessed with Camenbear."

"H-Hey!" He stuttered, "At least I'm not the one spending over an hour in the bathroom getting ready!"

"Oh my god, can you guys stop arguing like a married couple," Nino's voice rang out, "No wonder everyone thinks that you guys are dating..." We both froze, looking up at the camera.

"Dating?" Adri was the one who broke the silence after a couple of seconds, "People think we are dating?"

"Uh, yeah," I could feel the rush of heat rushing to my face again. Yes, I have heard people say it around the school, but it was different for some reason. My heartbeat fast against my ears, and I felt my hands become sweaty.

"They can think what they want." I stated, trying to calm my beating heart, "I'm not going to change how I act around Adrien because of them." Letting go of the said boy, I sat down at the chair next to him.

"W-Well, you should at least be careful." Mari blurted out, reminding me that she was on call too. "You may have to deal with people like Chloe because of that." I narrow my eyes at the screen, sensing something off about her tone.

What's been up with her recently. I've noticed that she has been acting differently more than usual...

"As I said, Mari," forcing my voice to stay neutral, "I don't care what others think. They can talk all they like, but it's not like they are doing anything. Yes, we both have people coming up to us and flirting, but they aren't trying anything else."

"Wait- people have been flirting with us?" My eyes connect to the green-eyed boy.

"God, you can be stupid sometimes." I sighed, placing my fingers at the hem of my nose, "Not to mention you are so dense."

"HEY! Now look who's being an ass now?!"

"At least I have one and can own up to it!"

"Guys~," Alya's said, bringing our attention to her, "Let's focus on getting this project done."

For the rest of the day, we spent our time doing our part of the project. Nothing special about it, though, just some U.S. history that I learned from my school. The class was world history, and we were lucky to be assigned to the United States. However, that was a different case with the rest of my friends. I helped them as much as I can, making sure that they at least understood the material. Besides that, I left them be.

As expected, I was the first one done since I live in the United States. The great advantage of living in such a country.

A knock interrupted the comforting silence, bringing us out of our intense state. I got up and opened the door, seeing the one and only Natalie with her tablet.

"Dinner will be ready shortly. Afterward, Mr. Agreste wants to speak to you personally (Y/N)" I nodded and closed the door.

"Adri-"

"Yeah, Yeah." Adri looked up at the screen, seeing our friends hard at work, "I know..." I frown, already knowing what is on his mind.

It was evident that he was upset. He told you straight out after you had a meeting with his father one day.

"This isn't fair..." He put his hands to his face, trying to cover up his emotions, "Isn't it sad that you get to see my father more than what I do? To have a decent conversation with him without him pushing me off?"

The look in his eyes disturbed me, seeing them so hollow and dark.

"It's like he sees you more like his child than what he does with me. Did I do something wrong?" Sitting next to him, I pulled him into my chest—the room filled with his sobs after a while, trying to piece everything together.

"Adri?" I grabbed his face, looking into his now red tiered eyes, "You did nothing wrong. I'm not sure why he's like this to me, but your right. It isn't fair- not for you or me." Placing a kiss on his forehead, his eyes widen.

"No matter what, you are an Agreste. I'm not- I'm a Taylor. He's trying to mask himself from showing me the real him because of my parents. In his own fucked up way, he is making sure that we are both are alright. He doesn't know how to interact with you. It's just easier to talk to me because I'm not one of his own."

Walking over to Adrien, I place a kiss on his forehead. Trying to remind him of that day that he opened up to me. His gaze shot upwards, eyes wide like that day. Smiling, I pull back as I pushed his nose backward, making his head hit the cushioned desk chair.

"I'll meet you in the dining room, green-eyes." I winked before exiting the room. As I closed the door, I swore that I heard a pencil snapping in two. Thinking nothing of it, I walked through the hallway, heading towards the stairs. Jumping up to the railing, I slid down. The rush of air pushed my long (h/c) hair back as I descended. I held back a giggle, trying to be as quiet as I possibly can.

"Can't stop this feeling inside my bones. It becomes electrifying when I turn it on-" Hearing my phone ring, I picked it up as I place both of my feet onto the ground.

"This is (Y/N) Taylor"

"Hey babe, long time no chat."

"What do you want?" I coldly stated, my feet moving on their own to the dining room.

"What? Can I not call my little flower?"

"Yes," I said, feeling chills up my spine, "How in the fuck did you get my number?"

"A little bee told me~" His voice rang out, "Besides, you never told me that you were leaving for Paris. When things were just starting to get good between you and me."

"Things are never good when it comes to you, Jonah." I spat.

"Oh, come on. Don't be like that flower." He whined, "Anyways, I wanted to tell you that we were grouped up in a project together back at home. When are you planning on coming back?"

"Not anytime soon." I replied, getting angrier at the second, "My parents want me to stay in Paris for the time being."

"I kind of figured that." I raised an eyebrow at his response.

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"Well, my parents are going to Paris for a business trip that they cannot cancel. During that time, we can do the project and catch up." Sighing, I placed my fingers to the bridge of my nose.

"What's the project?"

"Health." I froze, forgetting all about that class. At this point, my grades must be pretty low since I haven't done any work for it.

"Shit..."

"Anyway, Mr. Matthew wanted to pair us up since I will be leaving in a week." I could hear him smirk on the phone, "He said something about if you don't do this that you would fail the class."

"What do you want, Jonah?

"I just told you, didn't I?" He laughed, "We have to do the project, so you don't fail the class."

There is more to it...

"Fine-" I scoffed, walking again to the dining room, "Until you get here, don't contact me."

"Ouch!" He yelped as if he was burned, "Sorry, Princess, that will not be happening. I'll keep in touch." And with that, I ended the call.

"Fucking Jonah..." I mumbled to myself, hating every fiber of my being, "Why him of all people? Why not, Carter? Jasmine? Or anyone else, for fucks sake?!

God, I miss my workout room. I need to blow some steam...

"Is everything alright?" Turning around, I saw someone that I didn't expect to see so soon.

"Mr. Agreste," I bowed before standing up straight, looking at him in the eyes, "Excuse my inappropriate language just earlier. It has been a stressful day, and it is starting to get the better of me."

"It's understandable."

"Are you planning on joining us for dinner, sir?" I asked, tilting my head to the side, "Adrien would be thrilled if you did since you have been busy."

"I wasn't planning on it originally," He then smiles, not a true one, "but since you brought it up, I'll make an exception."

"Thank you." I smiled before following Gabe, "Adrien and I have a matter to discuss with you. If it will be alright, can we discuss it at the diner table?"

"What do you have to discuss with me?"

"The situation about me due to the virus- known as Covid-19." He hums at my response before making our way over to the table, "Adrien should be coming down soon. He is finishing up his World History project for class."

Speaking of the devil, I could hear him rushing down the stairs.

"I've finally finished my part of the project!" Adri yells excitedly, before seeing his father, "F-Father?" He turns his gaze to me in confusion.

"He's joining us for dinner." I winked at him before taking my spot at the table. The two did the same, Gaberial at the head of the table, of course. Adri and I sat next to each other, and he was seated to the left of his father.

After the cook gave us food, we dug in. There was no conversation whatsoever, just complete silence. It was very uncomfortable, sitting and not saying anything. The room felt cold with building tension.

"May I speak?" I asked, interrupting the silence. Gabe nodded, placing his utensils" down on the placemat.

"My parents were wondering if I can stay a little longer." I could feel my hands shaking as I spoke, "They worried about the upcoming virus and didn't want to risk anything. So what I'm asking is for your approval of living here until my parents say it's alright to go back to the United States."

"That will be fine with me." My heart stopped, not believing the words coming out of his mouth, "However, I will like your help on the upcoming designs for the company. As long as you help out, I will allow you to stay here." I nodded in reply.

"If that would be happening, then I want Adrien to join us too once in a while." I glance over to the blonde, his emerald eyes wide in shock, "Since he is the one who is modeling your clothes, he should at least give some feedback." Looking over at Gabe, I saw his eyes wide in shock as well. I am guessing that he didn't expect me to be so forward with him about his son.

"My, your just like your parents." Gabe smiled, interlocking his fingers together, "You always think ahead when others don't. My wife would agree with you if she were here at this table." My heart clenched, remembering how Adri felt about his mother.

"Adrien," Gabe said, making Adri look at him, "I would also like you to join as well." Adri nodded.  Gabe stood up from his chair, probably heading to his office. He stopped in the doorway then looked back at us with a smile.

"By the way, Adrien, I approve." He then shut the door, leaving us speechless in the dining room.

"Huh?" I choked out, forgetting how to talk, "W-What does he mean b-by t-that?"

"I have no idea (Y/N)..."

Placing a mask on my face, I headed out the door with Adri. Surprisingly, we were still allowed to go to school. However, some things have changed a little bit.

1. Got to wear masks.

2. Spilt up into groups of A and B.

3. Every other day, half of the class will attend school at a time.

4. On days that you do not, we attend virtually.

5. 6 Feet apart.

And much more.

It's been a week and a half since we were allowed to be in school. Sadly, it is a Monday today, so...

Thankfully, most of the people that we both talk to are in the class. We both got assigned to group A, so did Mari, Nino, and Alya.

"Hey, girl!" Turning my head towards the direction of the voice, I saw that Alya was waving us over, "I can't believe that we were assigned to be in the same group!" Smiling, we both made our way over to the group.

"I know, right! How weird is that?" I giggled.

"Anyways, let's head to class, guys, or we will be late." They all nodded and headed towards the class. It was weird not seeing as many people in the halls nor classrooms. I guess this is the new normal for us until this crap is over with.

Sitting down in our assigned seats, we all chatted. Of course, one student per table, so the room erupted into laughs and chatter more than usual since we had to speak louder.

"Alright, students! Time for class!" The teacher yelled out. Signing in to the computer, she brought up the online students on the projector. Almost all of the students were logged in on the Zoomy where online was being held.

"Hello, Students online! Can you hear me, alright!" Lots of kids held up their thumbs in the air, "Good, make sure you have your camera on so I can see you guys during class." A couple of students turned on their cameras.

"Alright, we are good to go!" The teacher cheered, clapping her hands together, "Today, we will be having a couple of your students' Penpals join the class." Just then, the door swung open, revealing the student.

My heart stopped as I looked at the boy, feeling all the blood freeze.

"Chole, would you like to introduce him?"

"Gladly!" She stood up, gesturing to the boy, "This here is my Penpal-"

"Oh hell, Nah!"
