WONDERLAND ( Poetry Retelling)

Lazing idly with her sister outdoors,
Alice spies a rabbit with a pocket watch.
She runs after it, but it disappears,
Down the rabbit hole, before she could catch.

She drops down the hole,
Landing in a hallway long,
There's a key to a small door,
Her curiosity rages strong.

She spies a beautiful garden,
The door is too tiny,
She grabs a drink, a cake,
But couldn't master size managing any.

Struggling while tiny,
She falls into a pool of her tear.
She manages to swim ashore,
Gets to know little animals there.

She offends all by her chatter,
Left alone, meets the rabbit white,
Who mistakes her for his maid,
Sends her home to bring tit-bit.

Again she grows big and small,
But manages to get to the wood.
There she meets a caterpillar on a mushroom,
Who offers her a way to manage size good.

She takes a bite of one side of the mushroom,
Gets her body oddly stretched,
Invades the home of a pigeon, who's adamant.
Unbelieving, turns her out, the creature wretched.

Trekking through the woods,
She comes across a cottage small,
The Cook and the Duchess are quarreling,
Leaving the baby unattended all.

Alice takes the baby with her,
Which turns to a pig, trots off somewhere.
Next she comes to the grinning Cheshire Cat,
Who guides her out, informing everyone's mad in there.

She ends up in the March Hare's house,
And is treated to a Mad Tea Party.
The March Hare, the Dormouse, the Hatter,
Are all having a time hearty.

She looks on through a door in a tree,
And finds ultimately the secret garden's door.
This time she manages to get in,
Finding herself on the Queen of Hearts' floor.

The gardeners are painting the roses red.
The poor creatures had planted white.
The queen finds out, enraged, orders their execution,
But are hidden by Alice, who's intelligent quite.

The queen invites Alice to play croquet,
Which is difficult as balls and mallets are living creature.
They're interrupted by the Cheshire cat.
The King gets furious on his careless nature.

The queen takes Alice to the Gryphon,
Who in turn accompanied her to the Mock Turtle.
They together narrate to her bizarre stories,
About school underwater and soup of Turtle.

She's then dragged by Gryphon,
To the trial of the knave of hearts,
Who has lots of evidence against him,
For stealing the Queen's tarts.

She's appalled by the ridiculous proceedings,
And even starts growing slowly,
By the time she's called to witness,
She's huge and expresses disapproval boldly.

Refusing to be intimidated by bad logic,
She confronts the king and queen,
Only to be attacked by the pack of little cards,
Waking up she realizes, all was a dream seen.

This ends the tale of little Alice,
Which was her imagination on the whole,
Little did she realize that from the world of wonderland,
An actual, real day she stole.

A/N Seems like Alice never realised, wonderland is a real place, and not a product of her imagination.
