Chapter 7
Libra,
My overly protective friend doesn't want us to meet up, but I keep swearing you're not gonna kidnap me. If he blows up my phone I'm apologizing now.
A bit annoyed,
Taurus
I snorted as I read the letter, Aries had just told me the other day about his experience with Virgo and her friend. I assumed it was the same person considering they Taurus and Virgo go to the same school. With a huff, I hopped out of bed, running my fingers through my hair real quick. I said a quick goodbye to my mom who was on the phone and she only responded with a wave. Heading out the door, I grabbed my bike since the mall we were going to wasn't too far from where I lived. As I got there, I put my bike on the rack, making sure to lock it before standing inside the door, waiting for Taurus. We had already exchanged phone numbers and photos so I knew I would be able to spot him or at least, he would see me.
Libra: You better not be driving if you see this, but I'm here
Taurus: me? text and drive? Never !
Libra: So you're here
Taurus: Well... no
Libra: Looks like I caught you phone-in-handed
Taurus: I wanna laugh I really do...
Libra: EYES ON THE ROAD
"But I'm not driving" My head whipped up in the direction of the voice, recognizing Taurus from the picture. "You scared me," I rolled my eyes at him, crossing my arms. "That would be the point," he shot a small smirk in my direction, causing me to roll my eyes once more. "Let's just go," I huffed, grabbing his hand and dragging him in the direction of the book store. We stood at the entrance of it and I stared at the sign, a smile gracing my features. "My favorite place here," I said, motioning towards the store. "Not what I was expecting," rude, I thought at his words, "but.. a very welcome surprise." I guess he's redeemed. I responded by dragging him into the store. "So, you like reading?" I asked hopefully, walking down one of the aisles labelled Mystery. "Yeah, and we're in my favorite section about now." He answered, grabbing a book off the shelf. "Wait, wait, you mean to tell me you're a fan of mystery novels too?" I asked, my smile widening more than it ever had before. "Sure am," he flipped through the pages before turning to the back to read the synopsis. "Wow.." I muttered, grabbing my own book. "Find something you like, I'll pay for it," I told him as a matter-of-factly. He laughed and smiled, "alright, how about this one." I grabbed the book he offered and skimmed the paragraph on the back before saying a quick "perfect" and rushing to the counter. "I wanna actually talk to each other, so sadly we won't just sit here and read," I turned back towards him to say that as the lady at the desk was putting the book in a bag.
We walked out of the store side by side and I turned to face Taurus. "Where to next?" I asked, ushering for him to walk ahead and lead the way. "Food court!" He said, picking up the pace as he walked in that direction. I laughed and followed close behind, only now notice the growl of my own stomach. "I'm paying this time," he gave me a pointed look before turning his gaze at the menu. "Fine, fine, so, Subway?" I said, looking at the place before us. "We can look at one of the other places," he offered, motioning towards the menu different restaurants lined up. "No, no, I like Subway," I nodded, affirming my response to him. I gave him the ins and outs of my order. I left him to order for us while I tried to look for a table in the busy section of the mall. Spotting two empty seats, I immediately half-sprinted towards them, sitting down and placing my bag in the chair meant for Taurus.
He walked towards me with two sandwiches in hand, placing mine in front of me. "Dig in!" I said happily, unwrapping the sandwich and immediately starting to eat. I closed my eyes and smiled as I chewed, it had been a while since I had eaten Subway. "Enjoying your meal?" Taurus covered his mouth, clearly trying not to laugh. "Yes, I am thank you very much!" I almost shouted, sticking my tongue out at him. "You're funny," he moved his hand, letting out a loud laugh. "Yeah, yeah, just eat your sandwich," I muttered, taking another bite of my own. "I'm already done." He commented, I looked down at my own, I wasn't even halfway through it yet. "W-what?! how?" I gaped at him and he just smirked at me. "This right here," He patted his stomach, puffing it out as I started laughing. "Oh my," I interrupted myself with a laughing fit, "you're ridiculous." His smirk only grew at my words, "Good to hear." I shook my head as he hummed a bit, patiently waiting for me to finish up my food.
As I finished, Taurus stood up and threw away our trash before returning to me. "I'll walk you to your car," he said. I almost agreed before stopping in my tracks, "Oh, I don't live far, I biked here." He nodded at my words. "My trunks big, I can put your bike in it and drive you home," he offered, giving me a small smile. I smiled back at him, "sounds perfect." We went to grab my bike before I unlocked it and walked it towards his car, Taurus leading the way. We were able to find an awkward angle with the back seats down to fit my bike in. I hopped into the passenger's seat as he got into the driver's. "You.. you drive a mom car," I snickered, looking at the car around me. "Sure do," he answered proudly, "Chelsey is my baby, I love her so much." I snorted at his words, "Well, I'm glad to meet Chelsey," he gave me one last smile before starting the car and driving me home.
