Chapter 6
Aries,
It was so great to finally meet you and I already can't wait to meet up with you again at Starry Cafe on Saturday. You said you were bringing your friend? I hope he's nice.
See you soon,
Virgo
I thought back to the last letter I had sent Aries as I pulled my combat boots on so I could head towards the new Cafe that had just opened up. At first I had thought about bringing a friend just like Aries, but I didn't want another intru- person coming along.
I immediately recognized Aries on the other end of the Cafe from the entrance and I sped up my pace a bit shouting a quick hey to catches attention. I notice his smile grow a bit at the sight of me and I came to a stop in front of him. "Hey Virgo, you been here before?" I shook my head no at his question, only now noticing the other boy standing next to him. I made eye contact with the other teen and blinked once, "Who's this?" A smirk grew on his face as he lightly grabbed my hand and kissed it. "The name's Leo, you're Virgo?" My face grew red as I nodded at his question. "Quit it Leo, not everyone is interested in your flirting" Aries scowled at him, giving him a light smack. I laughed a little as I was able to calm my embarrassment down.
"We already have our stuff ordered, but I'll go up with you and pay," Aries offered, pulling out his wallet. "There's no need, I can pay," I said, giving him a soft smile at the chivalry. "Nope, I'm paying. No arguments," He responded moving a little closer to me. "You really don't-" before I could finish my thought, Leo cut me off with a "get a room." Moving away from each other once again, we walked towards the counter without another word to Leo.
We made our way back to Leo who was now sitting at a small table in the corner. Aries and I sat next to each other and across from Leo. "So, you in the pen pal club?" I asked curiously. Leo nodded, "Yup, I met my pal not too long ago actually," he gave a genuine, but far off smile. "You like her?" I teased him lightly and noticed his face turn the color of a tomato. "Y-you don't know me!" He shouted loudly, many heads in the cafe turned towards us and I tried to hide myself from their gaze before eventually they all turned away. "No wonder you're friends with her," Leo mumbled to Aries who could only laugh. "That's right!" He lazily threw an arm around my shoulders and I stiffened for a moment before relaxing into it. I'm sure he didn't think I saw it, but Leo gave Aries a quick knowing look. "I should be going," Leo stretched his arms up before quickly drinking the last of his coffee. "Oh really? What do you have to do on a Saturday?" Aries scoffed as he rolled his eyes. "Homework," Leo very obviously lied before leaving without letting us say anything else to him.
I was insanely conscious of Aries' arm that was still around me, but I didn't say anything. "I wanna show you something," he randomly said just as I finished my coffee. I gave him a confused, but intrigued look, "What is it?". Aries smiled before standing up, "mind if we drive together? I'll bring you back to pick up your car." I nodded, following him out of the cafe after I threw our trash away. We sat in the car listening to music when I felt a buzz on my phone.
Cappy: I noticed your location change and your moving in the opposite direction from your place. Is this a kidnapping?
V: I'm fine Cap, no kidnapping here.
Cappy: Not yet
V: I'll let you know as soon as he starts kidnapping me
Cappy: Great, thanks.
V: You didn't catch the eye roll, did you?
Cappy: I ignored it
I put my phone back into my pocket with a huff. "Overly concerned friend?" Aries laughed, looking at me through the corner of his eye. "Yeah, he acts like he's my mom," I smiled softly, glad to have a friend like Capricorn. "I promise I'm not trying to kidnap you," Aries said with another hearty laugh. "I'll take your word for it," my smile grew as Aries pulled into the parking lot of a place that seemed pretty barren of anything except some trees. "This really is playing out like a murder, you know," I said a little skeptical as I got out of the car. "Probably, but it's too late for you now," Aries said, motioning for me to follow him a little ways away from the parking lot.
My eyes widened as we we reached a small grove of trees, the area of grass within the trees was full of wild flowers. "Woah.." I mumbled, completely speechless. "I knew you'd like it," Aries said, laying down in the flowers. "How'd you find this place?" I asked taking a seat next to him. "My older sister loved this place, her and her boyfriend got engaged her," he said, his eyes full of emotion. "Thanks for sharing," I said softly, the two of us falling into a comfortable silence.
After about a half hour I got a text from my mom telling me I should head home soon. With a nod, Aries lead me back to his car, driving me back to the cafe to pick up mine. "This was nice, see you again soon?" I asked before I hopped into my own car. "Yeah," He gave a small wave before driving away leaving me to sit in my car in silence. Before I started driving away from the cafe I pulled out my phone and sent a quick text to Capricorn.
V: I think I'm falling for him...
My thoughts as I made my way home were of worry of what might happen if I fell too hard for someone again.
