8. Black and Golden
"Are you guys some kind of scientists?" I heard the waitress say, causing all of them to go silent.
"Yoongi, do you perhaps know them?" I asked Yoongi, to which he snapped his head upwards and swung his eyebrows upward in question. I indicated my index finger towards the cluster of youngsters.
"Come on Y/n, how would I know them?" He said, his expression saying that he was seeing them for the first time. His eyes roamed onto their bodies and their faces curiously.
"I thought they would be kins of your brother. Isn't he in the science department of his university? I heard that Godai University is biggest in terms of fame and almost every college in our city is affiliated with that University." I justified myself, and he nodded.
"Yeah, but that doesn't mean I would know every person who's studying science, would I?" Yoongi said with a casual shrug and went back to scrolling. I was still in doubt if he didn't know them or had put up an act. He's good at faking things, anyway.
"Won't you trust me, Y/n?" I could never read his expression as clear and precise as he does with mine. He'd interpreted my doubtful state in a snap.
"Come on, I was just processing something else." I shrugged it off and tried to involve myself in any activity that'd seem important for the moment so as to avoid awkwardness. Cell phone helped, a lot.
"Stop looking at your dry phone." He said, his tone lazy and it was clearly reflected that he knew I was just trying to escape the situation. This man has got some balls to embarrass me in the most humiliating manner possible.
"Shut it, will you?" I said, still looking at my phone, but now I'm quite sure my ears are red.
For the sake of goodness, Yoongi had decided to stay silent and scroll further, and keep his nose snug up in his phone rather than meddling it in mine. That was the moment I felt very dearly thankful to him.
Maybe, the dudes who we've talked about are known to him. Not solely because of the gut feeling but because of the expression that he had worn for a millisecond before feigning not knowing them. Finally, I've got something to dig into.
"Hello?" Yoongi said to his phone while walking through the exit of the cafe. He's so bad at faking things.
"I'll be there." He said, after a brief moment of going silent, the phone still connected to his earlobe. I scoffed, but in silence, almost unnoticed.
His face filled with remorse, and he uttered the words, " Y/n, I'm sorry, but I can't be your ride back home."
"It's fine, I'll go back on my own." I assured, putting my hand on his shoulder and passing him a smile as a farewell. With this done and a smile back, he went on his way and I decided to tail him to feed my curiosity. Although I know it's unethical to stalk someone, but for the sake of truth, some of it won't hurt.
He sat in his Mustang and raced off the highway. Noticing the sky, I saw clouds appearing and felt cool and fresh breeze going on. I jumped in my car and followed him. On my way, I was deciding to stop doing this and undeciding the same.
Meanwhile, he went off the highway into an unknown alleyway. I moved my steering as well and suddenly, it got dark. The clouds that were prevailing earlier were now roaring above my head. A heavy rain was waiting to shower upon our cars and our surroundings.
As soon as he took a sharp cut, he starting speeding off which almost made me lose touch. My grip became harder on the gearshift as I catched up on his speed. A bead of sweat started to make a way off my forehead as it started to become difficult mile by mile for me to keep track of him.
I saw a straight road ahead and moved my head sideways just to realise that this place is very peculiar and strange to me. It was a colony type of place but no one seemed to roam around these empty roads, nor did I see any stalls, convenience stores or any roadside stands. I kept my car as far as I could from his. If I don't see Yoongi's car infront of me for even a second, I'd have to consider myself lost.
With this said, his car took a what-seemed-to-be a final turn and when I followed the same, I saw his car pull up infront of a what-seemed-to-be a warehouse. But what would he be doing here? The questions and the curious itch in me was increasing every second.
When he entered the warehouse was when adrenaline kicked in me and I also ran behind him so as to catch the door before it closes and also tried not to get caught by him. I saw his back disappear into a dark hallway which definitely wasn't supposed to be inside this shaggy warehouse. I tailed his shadow with as much silence as I could. I lurk behind him for what-seemed-to-be a mile of walk until I saw him open a door to a particular room.
Thank goodness, he did not close the door. I got a clear view of what was happening inside the room from where I was hiding. When he entered, the room lit up. He was led towards a table on which laid a very old fashioned rotary phone. He dialed a specific number on it which i jotted down in my notebook and shoved it back into my pocket.
Almost two minutes after his action, he placed his hands into his pockets and we both saw the wall facing him rotate. The only difference was that I was surprised and thrilled to see such cliche movie typed thing in real life.
The wall revealed a young blonde lady who sat on a black pedestal decorated with golden snakes. There were flames coming out from the back of the chair. All of this seemed to be a very fictional scene but I was damn sure that it wasn't. I even pinched myself.
The lady got up from the beautiful, ornate chair and began her steps towards my coochie poochie. A burn of jealousy took over me when she put her hand on his shoulder and looked into his eyes with such seduction that I almost puked. The salt on the burn was Yoongi's smile that I could see even from his back.
She kissed on his cheek and hugged him in a very loving way. I didn't expect this to be this shit. After hugging for a minute or so, they detached from each other and I swear if I could, I would've definitely killed this bitch. I mean, what right do I even have. I've neither been romantic to him nor have I confessed any love to him. But still getting jealous makes me feel really petty and pathetic.
They exchange a few words and I could see Yoongi trying to brush off the topic and distance himself from her (Happy happy happy). I could guess that she was talking about something that Yoongi was reluctant to do. A few yells and stares made them seperate and distant from each other. Atleast I won't feel jealous anymore.
Yoongi took out a piece of paper which she snatched from his hand and starting reading it. I could see her expression evolve from angry to infuriated. She was about to land a slap on his face when both of them faced in my direction. This sudden attention was caused by a thud I unknowingly produced by throwing a nearby thing to the floor.
The drama was just about to start and I ruined it. I hate myself for this.
"There's an intruder!" The woman screamed at the top of her lungs when all the lights went off and I knew I got myself into the trouble.
