Marcus has a surprise for you. And you have one for him.

Some swearing but mostly fluff and fun.

You wake up and feel Marcus' lips on your forehead and you smile.

"Good morning, beautiful."

"Good morning, handsome."

"I got a little surprise for you." You look into Marcus' eyes and he's smiling.

"Oh, did you?"

"I sure did." You think of your own surprise that you have for Marcus.

"I have a surprise for you, too, Marcus. "

"Tell me." You take a deep breath and slowly release it,  worried about what Marcus might think.

"You're going to be a...daddy. Next March." Marcus' eyes widen. He just stares at you, not saying anything.

A block of ice starts to form in your gut. He doesn't want that, pops into your mind as tears start to well up in your eyes.

"Oh, Y/N!" Marcus pulls you into his arms and you start to sob against his shoulder. You feel his hand gently stroking your hair.

"You don't want me, do you? Or the...baby?"

"I do. I'm sorry. I was just struck dumb. I can't wait to be a daddy and have a baby with you."

You pull away and Marcus kisses your forehead again. You manage a shaky smile as you touch Marcus' lips.

"Are you positive?" Marcus kisses you on the lips this time. You kiss him back. You suddenly hear a strange noise, coming from the laundry room.

Marcus jumps out of the bed.

"I'll be right back!" A moment later, he returns with...the sweetest looking puppy.

You squeal with excitement. Marcus comes to you and gently places the puppy in your outstretched arms.  The puppy immediately starts licking your face and you laugh.

"Oh, Marcus! This is perfect. Is it a boy or girl?"

"Girl. What are you going to name her?"

"Sadie. What do you think?"

"It's perfect." Marcus sits down on the edge of the bed and the puppy comes to him.

"Why a puppy?" You ask Marcus. He grins.

"I don't know. Maybe I just had the thought in my head that you needed some practice with a baby."

You laugh as Sadie comes back to you. Yes, that certainly makes sense. You'll need all practice that you can get.

You love having a puppy. (Even if she can be a little stinker and gets herself into trouble!)

The baby will be here soon. You're excited and anxious. But mostly excited.

You can't wait for Marcus to meet the baby. You just know he'll be a good daddy.

The baby has arrived! You gave birth to a beautiful and healthy baby girl. You named her A/N.

You can definitely see already see traces of Marcus in her. You keep kissing her. She's so tiny!

Marcus loves holding her, too, and you absolutely love seeing Marcus with her. You know he's already in love with his new daughter.

"She's beautiful, " Marcus murmurs as you're all crowded together on the hospital bed.

"She is. Oh, gosh, Marcus! I still can't believe that we did this." Tears fill your eyes and slip down your cheeks.

Marcus puts his arm around you, kissing your forehead and you chuckle softly.

"I'm okay. Just a little emotional and overwhelmed. But I'm really happy, too."

"I am, too. Oh, I have a question for you." Marcus pulls a ring out of his pocket.

"Will you marry me?" You start to cry again.

"You better believe it,  Pike. You're going to be stuck with us. And the puppy, too."

Marcus laughs as he slips the ring on your finger and kisses you.

"I would be honored to be stuck with you forever, Y/N."

"Same with me, Marcus Pike. Because all I need is you. "

"Same."
