Max Phillips-Crush part two
I gotta give another shout out to Katelynl29 because she was the one who inspired me to write these Max Phillips one shots. Be sure to check out her stories. She's currently working on some awesome Max Phillips fanfics herself.
You've been dating Max for a while now and he has an interesting proposition for you.
Some swearing and innuendo, along with the usual vampire violence.
Enjoy!
.................
Somedays the fact that you're dating Max Phillips is pretty surreal. And not just because he's your boss. But because he's-get this-a vampire!
Yes. You read that right. Max Phillips is an honest to goodness vampire. You would have preferred to find out in just about any other way than you did.
You found out by total accident. You saw Max draining one of your old co workers of his blood. (Unfortunately, Darren didn't exactly make it.)
Not that you were exactly besties with the guy, but you still think it wasn't exactly the nicest way to...die. You'd scolded Max for doing what he did and you made him swear not to go after anymore of his employees. Otherwise you'd tell everyone about his dirty little secret.
Max begrudgingly said he wouldn't. You're holding him to that damn promise. Although, you're not sure he'll totally agree to it.
Right now, you're cuddled up with Max on his living room couch, watching this really corny rom com. Max is stroking your thigh and you smile.
"Are you having a good time right now, my pet?" You wrinkle your nose. Max may be hot, but can be a little...obnoxious at times.
"Please don't call me that, Maxamillion."
"Don't call me that!" You giggle and squeeze his arm. Max pulls you close to his body and you giggle again.
"You're so terrible."
"I know!" Max kisses you passionately and it makes you more docile. You gaze at him. He really is a total hottie.
"Max?"
"Yeah, my lovely?"
"What's it like? Being a vampire."
"We've had this discussion before." Max looks amused. You lightly slap his cheek and he laughs.
"It's awesome. I hardly need to sleep. Or eat. And I'm super strong."
"Does garlic repel you?"
"It's more like a minor irritant. But it's not my favorite."
"Say, wanna order a pizza, with extra garlic?" You give him a sweet smile. Max just shakes his head and hugs you closer.
You sigh in contentment and just relax with your hot, vampire boyfriend.
.................
"What's the deal with Max?" Another co worker, Joe, has been badgering you about Max and his somewhat unorthodox work methods.
You stall for time, by adding an extra sugar packet to your coffee and slowly stirring it.
"What exactly are you trying to get at?" Joe shrugs, taking a large bite of his gigantic chocolate chip cookie.
"I don't know. He's just kinda...peculiar. Don't you agree?"
"No," you say, lifting up the coffee mug and heading out of the break room.
Joe follows you, much to your chagrin.
"I guess you wouldn't. Since you're screwing the bastard!" You turn, your cheeks flushed with rage. How dare he say something like that! (Even if it is true!)
"What is your problem?" You demand. "I mean, do you hate Max?"
"No. I don't hate him. But he's kind of an asshole."
"If it wasn't for Max," you snap. "You'd be out of a damn job right now! He saved this shitty company and all our asses! You should be grateful to Max!"
You glare ferociously at Joe, who's just gaping in awe at you. You turn away from him and pretend to focus on your work. He eventually gives up and wanders away. Thank God. If he hadn't, you might have ended up decking the jerk.
.................
"That's to be expected," Max says to you when you tell him all about Joe and what he'd said.
"People are always afraid of the unknown. Joe is one of those people." Max takes your hands in his and smiles softly at you. You melt.
"Unlike you, my beautiful girl." Max leans in for a gentle kiss and you happily oblige.
"Well, I'd be lying if I said that it wasn't a little...daunting when I first found out about you." You pause.
"Especially considering that you were pretty much draining poor Darren of his blood."
Max sighs heavily and rolls his eyes. He releases your hands and falls back against the couch.
"Darren was a slacker. I don't need slackers on my team. I need productive workers, Y/N."
"Still, was it really necessary to drain him of his blood?" You raise your eyebrows at Max.
"It wasn't anything personal. I just can't stand slackers. They're nothing but dead weight."
"You could have just fired him." Max rolls his eyes again. You know that this conversation is pointless. Max can be terribly stubborn.
"Where's the fun in that?" Max smiles charmingly at you and you know it's only a matter of time before you're putty in his more than capable hands.
"Besides, I was starving. I hadn't eaten all day. I needed to act quickly. Before I completely lost all control and ended up hurting someone else. Someone I care very deeply about."
"Okay, okay. I get it." You cuddle with Max and he grins, kissing you on the forehead.
Within minutes, you're sound asleep, nestled comfortably against Max.
..................
"I have an offer for you." Max says those words so simply that you can't imagine that it's anything all that major.
"What?"
"I'd like to...turn you." You frown. Uh, come again? Max wants to turn you? Sure, you like the guy. That doesn't necessarily mean that you want to become a vampire.
"Max, as interesting as that sounds, I'm not sure I want to become a vampire. No offense."
"None taken. It's just, well, it can get...lonely. Being only one of your kind." Max looks sad and it's tugging majorly at your heartstrings.
"I'm sure. But well, I like being human. Even with all our flaws and failures. Besides, what if something were to happen to you? What would I do without you?"
Max holds you close. He looks miserable. He doesn't look like his usual cheery, annoying self. You give him a kiss and he tries to smile.
"I don't mean to pressure you. Of course you'll need to think about this. It's not something to take lightly."
You put your arms around Max and just hold him. You know that this is going to be one of the toughest decisions that you'll ever have to make.
....................
You do think long and hard about Max's offer to turn you. You're conflicted. Being a vampire would be wicked cool. However, there's definitely some concerns that you have.
For instance, you don't want to be going around, wanting to drain dry every single human that you come in contact with. And you're worried about what your family and other friends might think when they discover that you suddenly aren't aging like a normal person.
Not to mention, vampires can still be killed. You don't exactly want someone to try and chop off your head all because they're scared you're going to drain them of their blood.
As you ponder all of this, you really start to have a stronger respect for Max. It can't be easy for him. Or anyone who chooses to become a vampire.
....................
"Max?" You'd made your decision. Max probably won't like it. But you have to do what you feel is right.
"I can't become a vampire. Not yet." You watch Max's facial expression. You see the disappointment in his eyes and it makes you second guess your decision.
But you just can't do it. There's too much at stake here. (No pun intended, talking about the stake thing. Seeing how in vampire myths, you can kill a vampire with a stake to the heart.)
"I understand." You give Max a hug and a kiss.
"Thank you. For understanding. I could change my mind in the future. I just need to do what's right for me."
Max smiles a little sadly at you, but hugs you close. He kisses the top of your head.
"I know. Its not something that's an easy thing to do. If you change your mind, you know where to find me."
...............
Someone has broken into the house. Max manages to fend them off. Although not before you're critically injured.
You know you won't make it. Unless....Max...turns...you. Shit! Why did it have to be this way?
Max holds your bloody and broken body in his arms. He's crying. He kisses you over and over again. You can feel yourself fading.
You know what you have to do.
"Max, turn...me. Now." He studies you briefly.
"Are you sure?"
"I don't want to...die. Not like this. P-Please. Hurry."
So...Max's fangs come out and he leans closer to your neck. You stare at him. Surprisingly, you feel no fear.
"This might hurt just a little." Max sinks his fangs into you and you cry out.
Then...suddenly, you've been reborn.
..............
