Marcus Pike-My Savior
Marcus Pike without facial hair 😑 Lol.
Anyways, you end up stranded on a deserted road at night and Marcus comes along to help you.
You want repay him, so you two end up at diner and connect.
Some swearing but mostly fluff.
.....................
Crap! Of all the damn times for your car to crap out! Out in the middle of nowhere and you have zero cell phone reception.
You groan in frustration as you you put your flashers from the car on, hoping that maybe someone will happen by and rescue you from this nightmare.
You look around, trying to see if you can figure out where the hell you're at, but it's no good. You suck at trying to decipher your East from West.
You pop your hood and go to prop it open, praying there's no ax murderers running around out in this neck of the woods.
You suddenly have a flashback of that stupid thriller movie you'd decided to watch last night. Shit. That was the wrong thing to think about.
You suddenly hear a car coming, but now that you've already spooked yourself, you're almost afraid to try and flag the driver down, lest it turn out to be some weirdo.
You wave your arms, trying to see if the driver will even think about stopping and assisting you.
The small, black car slows to a stop and the driver's side window is immediately rolled down. Perfect. It's a man, naturally.
"Hey, " he says. "You having car trouble?" You debate against revealing that to a strange man, that you know nothing about.
But it's either take a chance with him or wait to see if your guardian angel arrives.
"Yeah," you admit. "It just died and I zero cell service out here." The man cuts the engine of his car and exits.
Whoa, he's kinda handsome. And you don't miss the gun holster at his left hip. You slowly back up, your gaze never leaving the gun.
He notices and immediately takes the gun holster off and drops it in the driver's seat before shutting his car door.
"Sorry," he apologizes with a bashful grin. "I'm an F.B.I agent. It's kind of required that we wear guns. I personally don't care for it, but rules are rules."
He extends a hand and you debate on rather you should shake it or not. Yiu finally do.
"Marcus Pike."
"Y/N. Hey, sorry if I acted a little nervous. You just have to be extra careful these days."
Marcus chuckles and nods in agreement.
"That's smart. I'll have a look at your car. I'm not super knowledgeable about cars, but I might be able to at least get you on your way again."
Marcus walks over to your car and you shine a flashlight for him. He reaches over and fiddles with a couple of wires.
"Give it a try." You slip behind the wheel of your car and turn the key. Your car roars to life. Oh thank goodness!
"Oh, my god! Thank you so much! You've been my savior!" You exclaim, relief flooding through your body
Marcus grins and you notice his cute dimples.
"Say, I'd really like to repay you. I haven't had dinner yet and I know this great, little diner about fifteen minutes away. You interested?"
"You know what?" Marcus says, flashing that cute grin. "That actually sounds perfect. I haven't eaten dinner, either."
He starts walking back towards his car.
"I'll just follow you."
"Great." You close your car door and then take off, making sure that Marcus is right behind you. You smile.
That certainly turned out a heck of a lot better than you anticipated!
..................
You so Marcus end up having a great time together. He's so funny and such a gentleman.
"This sure turned out better than I expected," you tell Marcus as you both enjoy some bacon cheeseburgers and french fries and apple pie with vanilla ice cream.
"I certainly won't complain," Marcus says, taking a big bite of his cheeseburger and accidentally squirting some ketchup out and on to his bottom lip.
Without thinking, you grab a napkin and reach over to wipe it off. Marcus lowers his burger to his plate and gently grasps your fingers in his hand.
You heart stops beating for a split second as you try to pull your hand away. Marcus holds on, his brown eyes boring into yours.
"Uh, sorry," you mumble. "Old habits die hard."
"Don't apologize," Marcus says softly. "I liked it."
Then he's drawing you closer, so that your faces are almost touching.
"I want to kiss you."
"I'm good with that." Marcus gently presses his lips to yours and a bright, white explodes in your vision.
"I hope that wasn't too forward."
"It was. But that's okay. I liked that."
Marcus' cheeks get a little pink, but he's grinning, so you figure he's okay.
He suddenly checks his watch. He reaches in his back pocket for his wallet, but you beat him to the punch and lay some bills on the table.
"My treat, remember?" You remind him. "For being my savior this evening. Seriously, I'm beyond grateful."
You both stand up and pull your jackets on.
"I'm glad I could be of some help." The diner staff calls goodbye to you both as you exit out into the cool, night air and head for your vehicles.
"I'll follow you home. Make sure you make it okay," Marcus says.
"You don't need to do that," you argue. "I'm sure you're anxious to get home yourself."
"It's no trouble at all."
"Well... okay." Marcus follows you home and then he even walks you up to your apartment door and gives you a good night kiss and you exchange numbers.
"I'm happy I ran into you, Y/N," Marcus says softly as he gently strokes your cheek.
"Yeah. It was fate." Marcus gives you another quick kiss.
"Definitely."
