Chapter XXXVIII: Pride

"Reed, Korea, I'm so proud of you two!" I said excitedly, nearly squealing.
"Mama, stop!" Korea hissed.
"Okay okay," Lily said, taking a step back from Rose, who was licking her and Cora all over their faces.
"Good job, pups!" Ember said as he trotted up, tailed by Fudge. "Come on, we caught you a few hares."
"Thanks Papa!" Korea said, trotting off with Lily and Cora on her heels. Reed hurried to catch up with them, falling into step with Lily.
I sighed as Ember and I followed at a distance. "I'm so proud of him. He's an amazing warrior."
Ember nodded. "Honestly, I'm not sure Korea would have kept on track without him."
I sniffed.
"Mira, are you crying?" Ember asked, turning to look at me.
I nodded, laughing shortly as we sat down.
"Mama, are you okay?" Reed asked, rushing to my side.
"I'm fine," I said. "These are happy tears, happy tears. Get back to Lily."
"Okay," he said, concerned, before trotting off.
Meanwhile, Korea was discussing herbs with Tanisha, who looked very confused, while Casey chased down their pups.
"Mira, Mira!" Valor said excitedly, bounding up to me.
"Yes?" I asked.
"I have news!" He exclaimed, eyes bright. "Kelebek and I are having pups!"
Kelebek trotted up beside him, out of breath.
"Congrats," I said brightly, smiling.
"Mira, we've got new intel!" Frito called.
"Coming!" I said, jumping up. Ember followed me across the clearing to where Tuff, Frito, and Wash sat, all looking worried.
"What's up?" I asked, looking between them.
"It's about Ross," Tuff said warily.
"Oh no."

A/N:
So I was supposed to do another update last week, and this is like four days late, but no one's even reading anymore so it's not even that noticeable lol.
And haha cliffhanger lol.
My spring break starts next week, I'm flying to my grandparents' a week from tomorrow night, I'm just excited for school to be done for a while.
