Chapter I: Mira

A howl sounded in the distance, and I looked up from my catch with a sigh.
Finishing off the hare with a large gulp I wrapped the bones inside the remnants of the pelts and began heading back towards the den. When I walked through the cave entrance I was bombarded with squeals of 'Mira! Mira! Mira!' from the pups. I pushed through them, dropping the pelt full of bones on the floor.
"I'm going to go catch a couple more hares for the pups. Would you like to come?" I asked.
"No thanks," Ava said. "I'll stay here with the pups."
I shrugged. "Your loss."
The pups stared out of the cave entrance as I trotted back into the woods.
After a while of plowing through the thick snow I caught two hares, not very big, but enough to feed the pups. I gripped them by the scruffs and headed back towards the cave. As I sniffed the air a growl sounded from the bushes behind me. I glanced back for a moment before taking off at the sight of glowing yellow eyes -- three pair. I knew there was a pack near here, but they never seemed to be around so I never worried, but apparently I should worry.
Upon reaching the stream I splashed into the cool water that had melted enough on the edge to walk in. When I saw the trail leading back to the cave after some time, I climbed out of the river and shook out my fur.
That should be good, I thought. It'll be incredibly hard to follow that trail.
Soon I reached the den and I dropped my prey for the pups, who came running at my arrival.
"I love hare," Tanisha squeaked, tearing off a hind leg.
"Me too!" Valor said, ripping the belly open with his tiny, sharp claws.
"Scoot over, Valor!" Kana huffed, pushing her brother.
"Guys, just shut up and eat," Jay told the pair, glaring at them as he pulled the other hind leg off.
I rolled my eyes, heading over to sit next to Ava. "They're so annoying."
"Oh, Mira." She sighed. "Maybe one day when you have pups you'll understand."

Okey, so there's the first chapter. If you're reading Assassins Of Joy or Clocks and Zoisia, both of those are being updated tomorrow, so you can go check out that. Alright, well, watch for another update next Sunday, I guess. Also, if you're disappointed that I'm not doing a werewolf book, don't worry cause after this is finished (or almost finished), I'll start writing a werewolf book, so yeah. Byez children!
