•Ch.13•

LILLIAN AND HARRY WERE IN SHOCK AS THEY WATCHED past Lillian confront Draco. Lillian and Harry turned to Hermione as they were still confused.

"But that's us." Harry said. "This is not normal."

Hermione pulled Lillian and Harry away from eyesight and looked at them. She pulled out the necklace she used and showed it to them.

"This is a Time-Turner." Hermione explained. "McGonagall gave it to me first term. This is how I've been getting to my lessons all year."

"I remember that!" Lillian said. "Sprout asked if I wanted to take extra classes but I decided to be a teacher assistant."

"McGonagall wanted us both to take them but when you decided to be a teacher assistant I still decided to do it." Hermione told Lillian.

"Wait- you mean, we've gone back in time?" Harry asked them.

"Yes." Hermione answered. "Dumbledore obviously wanted us to return to this moment. Clearly something happened he wants us to change."

"He wants us to save Sirius." Lillian said and the three of them turned back to their past selves and watched as Lillian punched Draco.

"Nice punch." Hermione said and Lillian laughed.

"Thanks." Lillian said happily and Harry smiled. But their smile was soon wiped off their faces as Draco's goons began to run toward them.

"We have to hide!" Hermione said and the three of them ran and his out of their sight.

They looked back at their past selves and when Draco left them, the three of them began to go further to Hagrid's hut as their past selves went down the path. As the three of them hid behind a pillar, they could see Buckbeak with Lillian.

"Look." Harry said to them. "Buckbeak's alive."

"Of course." Hermione said. "Remember what Dumbledore said?"

"If we succeed, more than one innocent life could be spared!" Lillian said, reciting Dumbledore's words. "Let's go!"

Hermione lead the way, as Lillian followed behind and Harry stayed behind Lillian. They raced down the path and went toward Buckbeak first and hid in the pile of pumpkins.

They looked up for a moment and could hear Hagrid talking to their past selves. But when they heard caws, they turned their heads to see past Dumbledore with the executioner, and Fudge.

"Here they come." Harry said. "We better hurry, you should do it Lillian. He trusts you more."

"We can't not yet." Hermione told them. "Fudge has to see Buckbeak before we steal him. Otherwise, he'll think Hagrid set him free."

As they looked through Hagrid's window, they saw Ron get Pettigrew back from Hagrid after finding him.

"That's Pettigrew." Harry said angrily and Lillian and Hermione had to hold him back.

"Harry, no." Hermione said.

"Hermione, that's the man who betrayed our parents." He explained. "You don't expect me to just sit here?"

"Harry we can't be seen." Lillian told him. "It could have untold consequences, and bad things happen to wizards who meddle with time."

The three of them moved further away and more back into the pile of pumpkins and watched as Dumbledore talked to Fudge.

"Fudge is coming." Hermione said. "And we aren't leaving? Why aren't we leaving?"

Lillian looked down and saw a rock, the same rock that hit Harry and the jar.

"Hermione." Lillian said and handed her a rock. "I'll throw first, then you second."

Hermione nodded and Lillian got up for a second and successfully hit the jar. Causing it to break and for Hagrid to look in alarm.

"Are you mad!" Harry said. "What are you doing?"

"That explains why the jar broke!" Lillian told him. "Our future selves did it, Hermione you need to throw it at Harry's head."

Hermione quickly did the same and threw the rock at Harry's head. Harry winced at his past self and felt the back of his head.

"That hurt you know." Harry told Hermione and Lillian rolled her eyes.

"Don't be a baby." Lillian told him and stopped talking when Dumbledore and Fudge arrived at the door.

"We're leaving through the back door." Hermione told them. "Let's go!"

The three of them ran into the forest and hid behind trees as Hannah, Ron, Hermione, and Harry hid in the same place they once did. As their past selves ran, they were about to go but Lillain stopped them.

"Wait!" Lillian told them. "I'm still in the carpet bag, we need to wait a little longer."

They all waited until they saw past Lillian peak her head out from the door and then run in a hurry.

"Is that really how I run?" Lillian asked as she watched herself.

"I think we have bigger things than the way you run." Harry told her. "Come on let's got back."

They decided to move toward Buckbeak, and as they looked to see them all still in the hut, Hermione turned to Lillian.

"Alright Lillian, go!" Hermione told her.

Lillian nodded and got up and went over to Buckbeak. When Buckbeak saw Lillian he perked his head up again and Lillian smiled.

"Hello my handsome bird." She said, trying not to tear up from seeing him again. Lillian went over to wear Buckbeak's chain was and untied him.

"Alright my lovely bird, let's go." She said softly and Buckbeak got up and followed her. Lillian saw Buckbeak drag his feet and Lillian looked to see the rack of dead ferrets. "Hermione grab the ferrets."

Hermione went over to rack and she looked at it with disgust but put it aside and grabbed them. She threw one up fir Buckbeak and he caught it. He began to move quicker, and Lillian smiled as he did.

Harry came over and helped her with Buckbeak's chain until they all froze when they heard the door open.

Dumbledore however was talking to Fudge and they didn't see the three of them trying to rescue Buckbeak. Dumbledore was distracting him enough for them to move into the forest and away from prying eyes. As they moved into the forest they could hear Fudge.

"Where is it?" Fudge asked. "Where is the bird? I just saw him a moment ago!"

They all hid as they watched Fudge become frantic with worry. Lillian hugged Buckbeak and fed him another ferret. Hermione and Harry smiled as Lillian kiss Buckbeak's head.

"Oh you're safe now." Lillian said. "You're safe."

"We have to go." Hermione said. "This is about the time we went into the whomping willow."

Lillian and Harry nodded and they ran through the forest, Lillian gripping the chain on Buckbeak. Hermione stopped however and laid the ferrets on the ground for Buckbeak.

"What do we do now?" Harry asked.

"We save Sirius." Hermione told him.

"How?" Lillian asked her and Hermione ran a little bit further to see the Whomping Willow.

"No idea." Hermione said and Harry followed.

"Be a good boy Buckbeak." Lillian said and kissed his head and ran off after Harry and Hermione.

The three of them watched as the whomping willow moved and there they could see a familiar figure.

"Look it's Lupin." Hermione said and they watched as Remus went inside the whomping willow. "And Snape's coming."

Lillian looked at Snape with hurtful eyes and felt the bruise on her arm and Harry could see Lillian was conflicted. Harry held Lillian tight as they watched Snape follow Remus.

"Now we wait." Harry said and Hermione and Lillian nodded.

"Now we wait." Hermione repeated and the three of them sat down and began to wait.

Lillian leaned to Harry for support and dozed on and off, the cool air brushing her cheeks. As the night continued, Harry looked at Hermione.

"Hermione? Lillian?" Harry asked.

"Yeah." Hermione said and Lillian hummed in agreement.

"Before- down by the lake, when I was with Sirius. I did see someone." Harry explained. "That someone made the dementors go away."

"With a patronus." Hermione said and Harry and Lillian looked at her confused. "I heard Snape telling Dumbledore, according to him, only a really powerful wizard could have conjured it."

"Who do you think it was?" Lillian asked and Harry squeezed her hand.

"It was our dad." Harry said and Lillian and Hermione were confused. "It was our dad that conjured the patronus."

"But Harry your dad-" Hermione was cut off by Harry.

"Dead. I know!" He said back with a bit of anger. "I'm just telling you what I saw."

"You really saw dad?" Lillian asked her eyes filled with excitement.

"Yeah." Harry said and Hermione looked away from the twins and saw the whomping willow move.

"Here we come." Hermione said and they all got to their feet.

"You see Sirius talking to Lillian and me?" Harry asked Hermione and she nodded. "He's asking us to come live with him."

"That's great." Hermione said to Harry.

"When we free him, I'll never have to go back to the Dursley's it'll just be me and Lillian and Sirius." Harry said.

"Don't forget Remus." Lillian said happily. "We can be together as a family."

"We can live in the country, someplace you can see the sky." Harry told Lillian and squeezed her hand tightly and she nodded. "I think he'll like that after all those years in Azkaban, we can stargaze."

Suddenly then they heard the screams and the sound of howling and turned back to the scene that unfolded. They watched as Sirius and Lillian fought Remus to get him away from everyone. To protect them.

"Let's go." Harry said and held Lillian's hand tightly and they all began to move closer to the scene.

They watched as Harry's past self was in front of Remus's wolf form. As Remus was about to get closer, Hermione decided to howl. Harry turned to Hermione and tried to stop her.

"What are you doing?" Harry asked and Hermione howled once more.

"Saving your life." Hermione said and as she howled for a third time, it caught the attention of Remus and he moved away from the past Harry to go to the voice.

"Now we have to save ours." Lillian said, realizing that the past Remus was going to head for them. The three of them ran into the forest, going further in and hid behind one of the trees.

They heard the sound of the werewolf as he crept closer, sniffing and growling. Lillian can only imagine what her godfather must be feeling, she knew that in that moment that there was no ounce of Remus at the moment, only the mind of a wolf.

Lillian, Harry, and Hermione had to move and as they tried to go hide at another tree, Remus had found them. He snarled at them and came closer, Lillian hugged Harry tightly, and used one of her hands to grip Hermione's hand as well.

As they were about to get pounced on, Buckbeak suddenly appeared and had a need to protect Lillian. He came forward and squawked at Remus. Remus backed away and yelled, running in the other direction.

"Oh Buckbeak!" Lillian exclaimed and came over to hi and hugged him tightly. He chirped and rested his head on hers. "Such a wonderful bird you are."

"Remind me to thank you for being such a wonder with animals Lillian." Harry said and Hermione came over and hugged Buckbeak as well.

Their happy moment was short lived, as the sudden breeze and cold feeling of despair filled the air. The three of them looked up and saw dementors in the air. It was all they could see and Lillian looked at Harry in panic.

"Sirius! Come on!" Harry yelled and ran, Lillian and Hermione left Buckbeak and followed Harry. Following him to the lake and as Hermione and Lillian stood behind Harry, they saw past Harry with Sirius.

"Harry!" Lillian said wanting to help but Harry held her back.

"Don't worry, dad will come." Harry said to Lillian. "He'll conjure the patronus."

They watched as the dementors came closer and closer, about to pray on Sirius and Harry.

"Harry we need to stop this!" Lillian said but Harry held her tight.

"Any minute now!" Harry said to her.

"Harry listen to me, no one is coming." Hermione said to Harry.

"Harry both of you are dying!" Lillian exclaimed. "Please."

Harry placed Lillian close to Hermione and ran to the lake. Hermione now held Lillian back as Harry pulled out his wand.

"Harry!" Lillian yelled.

"Expecto Patronum!" Harry screamed and suddenly everything that was dark in the forest was being filled with light.

The light that emitted from Harry's wand grew bright and Lillian and Hermione had to block their eyes from the light that felt blinding. All the dementors began to scream and run away, fleeing the scene and saving Sirius and Harry's past self.

As the light faded, Lillian ran to Harry and engulfed him in a hug.

"Harry." She sniffled and hugged him tight.

"I'm alright Lillian, I'm alright." Harry said and turned to see that Harry's past self had passed out. "We need to go."

Lillian nodded and whistled.

"Buckbeak!" She yelled and suddenly Buckbeak squawked and came forward and placed his head again on Lillian's and they all laughed. Lillian got up on Buckbeak with the help of Harry, and Harry helped Hermione.

"Buckbeak to the castle!" Lillian shouted and turned to Harry and Hermione. "We've got to save Sirius."

The two to of them nodded at Lillian and with urgency, Buckbeak leaped into the air, his wings flapping furiously and going up into the air and towards Hogwarts.

They flew up into the air and soared above the clouds, Lillian and Harry were enjoying it but Hermione not so much. Lillian yelled in happiness and turned to Harry.

"So Harry, it wasn't dad that you saw, it was you." Lillian said with a laugh.

"Yeah, I could do the Patronus charm this time cause- cause I did already!" Harry said with a laugh and turned to Hermione. "Does that make sense?"

"No." Hermione said. "Lillian you should slow down I don't like to fly-"

Hermione screamed as Lillian leaned down and Buckbeak dropped down and closer to the castle. Harry screamed in excitement and felt the rush.

Lillian could see the tower that they were holding Sirius in, and Buckbeak landed roughly and caused the three of them to feel a bit dizzy. However it was short lived and the all got off of Buckbeak and Hermione ran to the locked door.

Lilliana and Harry stood behind Hermione and saw Sirius as he was locked behind the cage and looked even more ragged then the last time.

"Bombarda!" Hermione shouted and pointed her wand at the door and the door exploded. Harry shielded Lillian as the rubble flew everywhere and Lillian saw Sirius and rushed over to him.

"Sirius!" Lillian hugged him, and grabbed his hand. "We don't have much time."

Sirius nodded and as he followed Lillian, he saw Buckbeak and laughed.

"I like this idea." He said and Lillian laughed with him, he turned to her with a sad smile. "You've got James spirit in you."

All four of them got on Buckbeak and began to fly far away from Sirius's imprisonment Lillian enjoyed hearing Sirius's laughter, his eyes filled with hope as his niece and nephew had saved him.

Lillian could see that Sirius Black was a free man.
