•Ch.10•

A FEW DAYS HAD PASSED SINCE everyone heard of the news of Buckbeak being executed. The gossip was spreading like wildfire and Fred had comforted Lillian as she grew sadder and sadder as the execution day drew near. As days were closing in and Lillian had worked in her carpet bag day and night to work on room for Thor.

Harry had suggested that Lillian should grab Thor before the execution. So Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Hannah had all decided to go to Hagrid's hut.

"I can't believe they are going to kill Buckbeak." Lillian said.

"It's just too horrible." Hermione added and all of them nodded in agreement.

"Why did you bring that ugly bag?" Ron asked and Lillian glared at Ron as he insulted her carpet bag.

"Because I wanted to." Lillian said. "Say that again and I'll hex you."

Ron gulped, as Lillian continued to look forward and then as they went outside, they saw Malfoy and his goons.

"Father said I can keep the hippogriff's head." Draco boasted. Lillian's blood began to boil, all four of them looked at Lillian as her face turned red.

"Huh, look who's here?"Crabbe said as he saw Lillian approaching.

"Ah, come to see the show?" Draco asked.

"You!" Lillian seethed. "You foal, evil, disgusting toe rag!"

Lillian pulled out her wand, and everyone looked at Lillian in shock as she pointed it at his neck.

"Lillian no!" Hannah said.

"He's not worth it." Ron said and Lillian glared at Draco as he whimpered in fear. Wondering what she was going to do to him. Lillian sighed as she put her wand down and turned away from him. Draco scoffed and laughed, as well as his goons and thats what ticked her off.

She turned around and punched him right in the face, Draco's goons ran for it as Lillian watched as Draco cried in pain.

"Is it so hard to be a decent human being?" She asked him, as she tried not cry. "Can you for once, think about others, than yourself? Why can't you be better than your father, you can actually do a good thing and stop it. But I doubt you would."

Lillian turned away as Draco's nose was bleeding, and for once he listened to what she said and looked away in shame. Lillian walked over to Harry, as Harry took her by the hand and gave her a hug.

They all continued their walk down, as Ron looked at Lillian in amazement.

"I thought that would feel good." Lillian said as she touched her

"That was brilliant." Ron said.

"I bet dad would of been proud." Harry told her and she laughed.

"I can't wait to tell Cedric." Hannah said. "He probably won't believe it. Our little Lillian using violence."

"I thought it was wonderful too." Hermione added. "Give him what he deserves."

They walked further down until they were at Hagrid's hut. Lillian saw Buckbeak and went over to say hello to him. She bowed to him as Buckbeak nodded and Lillian came over and hugged the hippogriff tight. Buckbeak placed his beak on Lillian's head and all of them looked at Lillian in pity as she was silently saying goodbye.

Thor was laying beside Buckbeak and Lillian could see him growing. Lillian picked up Thor and Thor squawked in happiness.

"Oh hello my wonderful boy." Lillian said and kissed Thor's head.

Hagrid opened his door and greeted the children, Lillian placed Thor down as Buckbeak and Thor laid beside one another.

"Look at him." Hagrid said sadly, as he poured tea for them. "Loves the smell of the trees when the wind blows through them."

"Why don't we just set him free?" Harry asked.

"Ah they'd know it was me or Lillian." He said. "Then Dumbledore would get in trouble and I know Lucius would try and get Lillian expelled."

"We've talked about it before." Lillian told Harry.

It was true, Lillian had stayed with Hagrid after he told the news and talked to him about Buckbeak. Lillian tried to plea with Hagrid but his heart hurt and refused to fight it. Hagrid hugged Lillian as she cried for Buckbeak and both of them spent time with Buckbeak.

"It's not right." Hannah said.

"You know Dumbledore is coming down you know." Hagrid told them. "Says he wants to be with me when they- when it happens."

"I'll be there too." Lillian told Hagrid.

"Us too." Hermione said and came over beside Lillian and Hagrid shook his head at them.

"You'll do no such thing." Hagrid told them. "Think I want you seeing something like that? No, you just drink your tea and be off. And Lillian you'll need to take Thor did you get everything ready?"

Lillian nodded and she was the only one who told Hagrid of her carpet bag. About what she had done, Hagrid even told her she reminded him of someone he met when he was just a boy, who got him into loving animals.

"I have it." Lillian said.

"Have what?" Harry said.

"My carpet bag." Lillian said. "I'm going to hide Thor in it for the time being."

"In that tiny bag?" Ron asked. "I think you lost your marbles Lillian."

Lillian sighed and opened her carpet bag and stuck her whole body inside. They all watched in amazement, as she did so and stuck her head out of the bag.

"It's an expanding charm." She told them, and she climbed out of the bag. "This was hard to do, and no one can know. The ministry cracked down on this spell for a reason."

"That's so amazing." Hermione said. "And you've worked on this?"

"Yeah, it's been hard but I finally did it." Lillian said. "Now I'll be able to keep my animals safe."

"Speaking of keeping animals safe." Hagrid added and looked at Ron, Hagrid went over to one of his jars and when he grabbed something out of it, it was Ron's rat, scabbers.

"Scabbers! You're alive!" Ron exclaimed and got up from his chair and held Scabbers in his hand.

"Want to keep a closer eye on your pets, Ron." Hagrid said. "Take a page out of Lillian's book."

"I think that means you owe someone an apology." Hermione said to Ron, and glared after being relentlessly blamed for Scabbers death.

"Right." Ron said. "Next time I see Crookshanks I'll let her know."

"I meant me!" Hermione said angrily.

Ron was about to open his mouth to say something back, when one of Hagrid's jars broke startling everyone in the room.

"What was that?" Hagrid asked.

Hannah picked up the rock and as all of them looked confused, Harry was hit in the back of the head by one. Harry turned around and his eyes saddened when he saw who was coming.

"Hagrid." Harry said and motioned him to come over.

"Oh blimey." Hagrid said and when Lillian went beside Harry and Hagrid her eyes grew sad. The executioner, Dumbledore, and a member of the ministry was coming. "Lillian grab Thor quickly."

Lillian opened the window and whistled for Thor.

"Thor come on Buddy." Lillian said and Hagrid opened the door a little bit for Thor to come in. Lillian picked up the big thunderbird, and opened the carpet bag. "You guys need to go."

"Not without you." Hannah said, and all of them nodded.

"I can't not yet." Lillian said. "I'll be with you guys soon."

They all nodded and Lillian stepped in her carpet bag, as Hagrid rushed the others out of his hut. Lillian went down the steps, and into the large carpet bag. With Lillian's work she had made a good enough environment for Thor.

She made a small room filled with a small bed, a chair, a couple of lights, and hopefully soon she would be able to make it a desert environment once she gets the sand and rocks. But for now she had to make it into something similar to the Gryffindor common room.

Lillian placed Thor down as he chirped, she scratched under his chin and kissed his head.

"I'll be back soon." Lillian said. "Don't make too much of a mess."

Thor cawed as Lillian left him, and waved to him goodbye. She opened the top of the bag and she stuck her head out to see if the coast was clear.

As Lillian got up, she saw that Hagrid had hid her bag, right next to a pile of fire wood. She could see Hagrid lead Dumbledore out of the hut and she sighed in relief.

She sneakily got out of the bag, and since it was next to the back door. She closed her carpet bag and exited quickly with her bag in hand out the back door.

Lillian saw that the gang wasn't too far, and she ran as fast as she could to catch up.

"Guys!" Lillian said and they all turned to her as she caught up.

"That was quick." Hannah said.

"It wasn't hard." Lillian said breathing heavily. "I may be outdoorsy but I realized I can't run so good."

Harry held her hand, and Hermione sniffled and all of them turned to what she was looking at. Lillian eyes began to tear up as she saw the executioner heading toward Buckbeak.

"No." Lillian said sadly.

Hermione went over to Lillian and held her hand, Lillian gripping it tightly as they all knew what was going to happen. As the executioner raised the axe, the agonizing cry of Buckbeak was heard. Lillian let out a sob, and Hermione hugged Lillian as she began to cry.

Hannah, Ron, and Harry joined in and hugged the girls as they both cried of the death of Buckbeak.

"He'll always be that sweet little hippogriff." Lillian said and sniffled.

"He was a brave bird." Ron said. "I'm sorry Lillian, Hermione."

As Lillian and Hermione nodded to Ron, Ron hissed in pain as Scabbers bit Ron.

"He bit me." Ron said and looked down at the grass frantically. "Scabbers!"

"Ron?" Hermione asked and Ron began to run down the hill, chasing after his pet rat. Soon all of them chased behind Ron. "Ron! Stop!"

"Scabbers come back!" Ron shouted.

"Ron! Just let the rat die." Hannah shouted and Lillian hit her on the arm.

"Not the best time!" Lillian said.

"Ron, wait!" Harry shouted.

As they all reached up to Ron, they all took a step back as Ron caught Scabbers in front of the whomping willow.

"Scabbers you bit me!" Ron exclaimed as he held the rat.

"Harry you do realize what tree this is!" Lillian told him.

"That's not good." Harry said and looked to Ron. "Ron, run!"

Ron looked back at the four and his face turned white. As if he had seen a ghost and pointed behind them.

"Harry, Hermione, Lillian, Hannah, run!" Ron shouted and they all turned around to see the large black dog. "It's the Grim!"

"Ron that's not the grim!" Lillian yelled at him. "You remember me right?" She told the dog.

The dog growled and Lillian's eyes widened in fright. The dog ran toward them and Harry held Lillian behind him, but then the dog leaped over them and went over to Ron and grabbed him by the leg.

"Ron!" They all exclaimed. As Harry jumped out to grab Ron's hand, the dog dragged Ron under the whomping willow.

Hannah, Lillian, Hermione, and Harry looked down at the hole in fear. Until the whomping willow hit them back with brute force.

"Come on." Lillian said, and ran back at the whomping willow as it came at all of them with force.

Lillian leaped out of the way, before getting hit, she dropped her carpet bag and grabbed it quickly before the tree could smash it.

While Lillian struggled, Hermione was grabbed by the branch and swung up toward the rest of the tree. Harry fell over and his glasses fell off his faces, he looked on the floor like a blind man as he finally found his glasses.

Hannah however was pushed further back until she went toward the tree and was caught in a branch as well, swinging around just like Hermione. Lillian jumped down into the hole first, her bag going across the room until she was knocked down by Harry being thrown in, and then Hannah and Hermione piled on top as well after falling off the branches.

"Sorry." Hermione said.

"I'm suffocating." Lillian said, as her face was smushed into the dirt. All of them got off Lillian quickly and she could finally breathe.

"Where does this go?" Hannah said as she looked around.

"I have a hunch." Harry said. "I just hope I'm wrong."

Harry lead the way, as Lillian got up, grabbed her bag and followed behind her brother. As they went through the halls of the whomping willow as Lillian held her carpet bag close and looked around in amazement.

"I can't believe this is what is under the whomping willow." Lillian said. "This would be one heck of a hideout."

"Lillian, out of all places this would be your hideout?" Hannah asked her with a weird look.

"Guys I think we should be focused more on Ron than anything else." Hermione told the two.

"Sorry." Lillian said sheepishly. She went over to Harry and held his hand. "I'm scared."

"It's okay." Harry said to her. "Stay behind me."

Lillian was pulled behind Harry, and when Harry went up the stairs, they were all lead to a dusty and broken shack.

"We're in the shrieking shack aren't we?" Hermione questioned as they all looked around.

"I need to hang out with Cedric more often." Hannah said and Lillian rolled her eyes.

"Again not the time." Lillian said, as Harry went up another flight of stairs. The stairs creaking at every step. As they went up the steps, they could hear Ron scream.

"Ron!" Harry exclaimed seeing their friend scared.

They all went up to him as Ron shook in fear, Lillian hugged Ron as she was glad he was alright.

"The dog where is it?" Harry asked.

"Harry don't hurt hi-" Lillian was cut off by Ron.

"Harry, Lillian it's a trap!" Ron exclaimed. "He's the dog, he's an animagus!"

The four of them turned around and Lillian's heart stopped. They all stood there and saw Sirius black behind the door, closing it and starting at them all.
