It was beginning to be early morning as Caesar and Rocket walked through the camp, trying to free (Y/N) and the baby apes. It was still dark, around 4:30am. They first went to the children's cage. They walked past a few tents, being careful to stay as quiet as they could. They got to the door of the cage and unlocked it. They walked through the door and saw all the children look at them and walk up to them. Caesar called them towards him and Rocket. Soon, they all stood still except for Caesar and Cornelius. The children made a path between the two. Cornelius ran up to his father and they hugged tightly. Cornelius made comforted chitters. 

"I love you, son." Caesar said as they continued to embrace each other. He put Cornelius down and ushered all the children towards the door.

Once they were out, Caesar showed the babies that the way they would get out is to climb. So the children climbed up a pole and across the electricity lines, which the older apes made sure were turned off, and into the adult cage. They all reunited with their families and went down the hole that was made by Bad Ape.

While the babies were being let down the hole, Caesar and Rocket went to go free (Y/N). The two apes went over to (Y/N)'s cage and unlocked the door. They found her still tied up to the 'X'. Parts of her hair had frost on them. Her eyes were closed but she was still breathing. Rocket started to untie the tight ropes and chains while Caesar spoke to (Y/N). 

"(Y/N), we're getting out of here. Please get up." He prayed. (Y/N) slowly opened her eyes and smiled at Caesar. She gave a slight nod. Rocket came next to Caesar. 

"Her wings. They're pinned to the logs." He signed. Caesar sighed and looked to (Y/N). 

"Do it." She gasped, determined to escape the dreadful place. Caesar nodded and raised his hands to the large nails. He ripped them out as (Y/N) held in her painful screams from attracting unwanted attention from the sleeping soldiers.

Once she was free, she fell off the 'X' and into Caesar's arms. He hugged her tightly as she breathed shakily. 

"I'm here... I'm here." He whispered. (Y/N)'s wings hung loosely behind her, dry blood was being replaced with fresh blood from the wounds the nails had created. Caesar slowly let go and helped his sister stand on her own. He held (Y/N) by pulling her left arm over his shoulders, helping her walk. They made it to the walls of the adult cage. 

Soldiers were standing about 10 metres away from the cage door, so they had to go over the walls to make sure they weren't caught. The three of them climbed over the walls. Rocket and Caesar made sure (Y/N) was alright.

Soon all the apes were down and underground, except Rocket, Caesar and (Y/N). Caesar walked towards the gate. 

"Hurry! Let's go!" Rocket signed to Caesar, who stood at the gate of the cage. (Y/N) was beside the hole but soon joined the two apes. "Caesar, what's wrong?" Rocket asked. Caesar just continued to look at the Colonel's balcony. Slowly, he turned his head back to Rocket and (Y/N) and gave a half smile. 

"Hurry, you two must go." 

"Without you? No..." Rocket pleaded. 

"Caesar what are you talking about?" (Y/N) questioned. Caesar sighed. 

"Maurice was right. I am like Koba. He could not escape his hate." He said before looking back up to the Colonel's balcony. "And I cannot escape mine." He said with fury in his tone. 

"Please Caesar, you are not like this. You are not like Koba." Rocket tried to reason with the ape king. 

"Caesar." (Y/N) said as she made Caesar face her. "I know what it's like. Having your family taken away from you so suddenly, not being able to see them again. And the hate and anger that builds up makes you want to rip out the bastards throat. It's hard, I know. But if you are gonna do this, at least let me help you." Caesar smiled again, a sad smile but a smile nonetheless. 

"I love you, (Y/N). And that's why I won't let you. You're hurt." 

"Has that ever stop me?" (Y/N) gave her famous mischievous smirk, as she and Caesar separated from Rocket and made their way up to the open balcony.
