Pearl's P.O.V.

(Y/N) had came to the temple a lot frequently now. It always made me happy when he'd stop by and my heart would beat out of control of control. And now here he was, being adorable as usual. I loved watching him sleep. I was sitting on the couch and (Y/n) had his head leaned into my lap as my fingers combed his silky (hair color) hair. I smiled down at him before realizing that everyone was staring at me.

Pearl: O_O....what?

Amethyst: Ooooooh nothing. (She giggled)

Peridot: You have become rather close with this particular human. Why? He can't do anything special that you can benefit from having him around.

Garnet: Peridot...

Garnet said warningly.

Peridot: What...I was just saying.

Steven: (Y/N)'s useful in a lot of ways. He just never showed it yet because there wasn't a reason.

Steven said as he poked (Y/N)'s cheeks as he slept.

(Y/N): zzzzzzzzzzz.....

Peridot: So what can he do? If he's going to be around us or extended periods of time, it'll be a matter of time before something gem related happens in front of him and what happens when he gets hurt.

Pearl: I won't let that happen. I can just train him like I did Connie.

Steven: True but you two are together now. You need to find something for him that makes the two of you the perfect team like you did with me and Connie.

Pearl:Hmmm, yes, but what that is, I haven't the slightest clue.

(Y/n) began to startle in his sleep.

Steven: He's waking up.

(Y/N) opened his eyes slightly before calling out to Pearl.

(Y/n): Pearl....

Pearl: Yes?

(Y/N): Come closer....

I did what he said but he just kept saying "come closer" before our faces were centimeters away. Then he arched his face to me slightly and kissed my gem. I blushed and there was a "click" sound. Steven had taken a picture of us together and looked at his phone.

Steven: Aw, I'm going to cherish every sweet moment you two have together.

(Y/n) chuckled at him before slowly rising up from the floor.

(Y/N): What did I miss?

Amethyst: Just the part about you joining our little organization.

Amethyst said as she took a bite out of a cake.

(Y/N): Oh sure. I'd love too.

Pearl: But it's really dangerous, I'm not sure if it's a good idea-

Steven: Oh come on Pearl, the more members the better. I can even watch him gain Pearl Points from training. Pleeaase?

Pearl: Well...Sigh, fine.

(Y/N): Awesome. So, what am I suppose to be doing?

Pearl: Training, now come with me

Time skip.....

(Y/N): This place is beautiful.

Steven: It's an ancient sky arena.

Pearl: Yes, a lot of battle on Earth took place here but it is also the perfect place to train you in the art of sword fighting.

(Y/N): Oh....

Pearl: Is something wrong?

(Y/N): No, I'm just terrible with swords. I was in fencing for sometime and failed. I nearly had my arm cut off.

Steven: But Pearl a great teacher. If she could teach Connie, she can definitely teach you.

(Y/N): Well if you say so.

(Y/n) and I began his training right away and I tried to teach him the basics, just like Connie. However, (Y/n) wasn't lying about being terrible with the sword. He had me worried the entire session and came close to many times of being hurt by the hologram Pearl. He found the hologram rather interesting and often tried to observe it while barely dodging it. He's forgetting the point that this hologram isn't me and that it will dispatch him because that's it's duty.

Pearl: (Y/N) be careful and focus!

(Y/n): I can't, it's so pretty, just like you.

He was making me flustered and I too was getting a bit sidetracked before I decided it was best to take a break. I glanced back at Steven who was watching us intensely.

(Y/N): I know...I did terrible.

Pearl: No, no, you did wonderful...

I tried to lie but (Y/N) saw right through me.

Pearl: O_O....ok you did very badly.

(Y/N): Sigh...it's fine. Swords aren't my thing but I know what is. Come on Steven, we have to make a trip to my house. Wait here Pearl.

Steven: Ok.

I watched as Steven and (Y/n) vanished on the warp pad.

Time skip....

(Y/N): Ok I'm back.

I turned to (Y/n) who was carrying a rather fairly large metal briefcase in his hand.

Pearl: What's in that?

(Y/n): The thing that will make us the perfect team.

Pearl: ?

(Y/n): You know how Steven has his shield, Connie has her sword, you have your spear and I have my gun.

Pearl: Well I guess I do feel a little better knowing that your using a ranged weapon. You won't have to get too close to danger and it's a value skill in this situation.

(Y/n): Exactly. I'm not so good at close combat but with long range and excellent accuracy, I can cover you in battle.

Steven: What about fighting as a team.

(Y/N): Don't worry, I'll still do that. After all, even if I'm useless in a fight, I can't stand to be away from my Pearl and let her take on an attack all by herself.

Steven: Awwwww

(Y/N): Give me a chance to show you what I can do.

Steven: Yay. Can I be an obstacle?

(Y/n): Sure and don't worry, I'm not going to actually use real bullets on you. These rubber bullets will just hurt.

Steven: It's ok, we have to make this practice authentic, just like a real battle.

I watched as (Y/N) opened the suit case and began to assemble his gun. It was a very high powered rifle but I had no doubt that he knew how to use it. I did my part and made his training challenging and sent out numerous holo Pearls to get in his way. It wasn't much of a challenge however since he just shot them all and they disappeared. Mean while Steven was more complicated. Without actual bullets, it was hard for (Y/N) to shatter his shield so Steven had the full advantage for a while but then again, (Y/n) was clever. He used a lot of his human techniques to eventually conquer Steven. Using smoke bombs and homemade explosives were (Y/N)'s secret weapons as well as other things. I knew that he had passed his training, now that he had finally found what makes him a sufficient fighter.

I have to say that I was proud of him. Unlike Connie however, (Y/N) isn't a child that I can just tell that they can't come on a mission. He would follow me even if it was a bad idea or not. Though I admit, I'm looking forward to having our first adventure together.
