You walked to Steven's house with himself and the... lady? Not only was his home comfortable, he lived RIGHT next to a beautiful statue that you always admired. However, now that you come to think of it, the being did have similarities with Pearl.

You gazed up again at the high ceiling and when you looked down again, a purple face was uncomfortably close to yours.

"Whatcha doing?" It spoke. Startled, you fell backwards. You heard Steven groan, "Amethyst." You tried to collect your thoughts when a hand took yours and pulled you up to help you stand.

The lady that helped you up had a plain expression and awesome sunglasses. Although, thinking about it, they were more of a visor by the shape and glare off of it.

"T-Thanks." You managed to stutter out, a little overwhelmed by their strange looks. She adjusted her shades and nodded slightly.

"(Y/N), these are my friends! The Crystal Gems! They save the world and we go on missions and I help them, too! That's Amethyst." Steven pointed at the purple Gem that scared you.

"Yo." She lazily waved from the sofa, laying across it.

"That's Garnet." Steven nodded his head in the direction of the Gem who had helped you up.

"Nice to meet you, (Y/N)." Her voice was  mono-tone yet she wore a smile.

"And you already know Pearl." Steven gestured his hand to Pearl.

"A human? Golly, you must be so confused! We're Gems, not human beings and we're from a different planet. Haha." Pearl shook your hand, while laughing like a bad joke was told but you have to laugh because your teacher said it. She's nervous so she cares. That's what you believe. That's what you want to believe.

"It's nice to see you all. B-But if you're from a different planet, then does that mean you're aliens?" Straight after asking this, you thought that it was a bit too forward and maybe rude, too.

Unexpectedly, Pearl looked excited and her eyes lit up. She looked at Garnet who nodded in approval.

"Steven. Could I borrow (Y/N) for a second? I just need to help her understand what a Gem is." Pearl put her hand on Steven's shoulder. He smiled up at her.

"Of course! Garnet, Amethyst and I were planning to meet Dad and Connie at Funland so join us if you want." Steven took the others' hands and dragged them down to the town, leaving you with Pearl.

"Right, (Y/N). This is going to be hard to explain..." Pearl chuckled awkwardly but still had the same enthusiastic expression.

"Wow..." you were amazed at the very long description Pearl had just given you. Books and pictures surrounded you because Pearl had to take references from facts and diagrams in order for you to understand.

"Any questions, (Y/N)?" Pearl asked while standing up from her neat sitting position.

"Um, wow... uh. Why?"
"'Why' what?" Pearl looked confused and tilted her head slightly which you mentally fangirled over.

"Why did go against your own kind to protect Earth? Rebel against everything you believed in. Your home, your friends, your future had already been planned out for you. Why throw away all of that for a small planet worthless to you?" You were looking down, touched by what Pearl had said about the Gem War and was keen to learn more.

"Why? Because Earth is worth protecting. Humans, animals, organic life. It's all so fascinating. In Homeworld, we have nothing like that. It's all so different. This planet has things I could've never imagined existed. Our leader, Rose Quartz, believed that no creature should be killed. Every human has a unique experience and are innocent. They don't deserve to have their planet demolished for a petty reason." Pearl started to tear up a little at 'Rose Quartz'.

You stood up and embraced Pearl. She seemed surprised but did nothing else otherwise. You had no idea if this would comfort her but it works for humans sometimes so it's worth a shot.

She smiled at you.
"How about I teach you more about her? Rose Quartz was amazing."

"Yes, please, Pearl." You exclaimed with joy and then let go of her. Pearl then took your hand and showed you a picture of a beautiful woman with thick, pink, curly hair.

"That is Rose Quartz." Pearl gazed at the picture lovingly. You thought Rose looked similar to Steven. They had the same smile and happy eyes.

The others came back in.
