The lioness creeps quietly
eyes staring, barely breathing.
Her children are hungry,
the rain picks up, and soon she's leaving.

With a meal for her cubs,
she arrives back home.
They hug her close,
happy that they are no longer alone.

Two abandoned lambs
mourn on a Summer's night.
They saw Mother's shape dragged away in the darkness,
with blood red splatters on her fleece, bone, so white.

Their hearts shatter with anger and heartbreak
they pick up their weapons and run.
They will only rest again,
once their revenge is done.

They find the monstrous lioness
and murder her for the world to see.
She needs to pay for what she did to them-
for ripping apart their family.

Three little lion cubs wail,
the Acacia's leaves slump in the rain.
Mother Lion has gone away
never to return again.
