Winning the war did not mean the pain was over. Those who survived had to wake up every day and live their lives just as they did before. But it wasn't easy.

Rory moved out of Diagon Alley and into a smaller flat closer to her father's house in a Muggle city. She was finishing up her first year as a teacher's aid at Hogwarts, shadowing the out-of-retirement Muggle Studies Professor who couldn't wait for her to take over full time the following September. She wasn't the bubbly powerhouse she used to be, even if her ex-boyfriend was a ghost at her place of employment. Rory felt that was an indicator she was never going to be the "old Rory" ever again. If Fred couldn't bring out the light in her again, if her dream job couldn't, if shagging random men at pubs didn't... what could?

George now lived alone and he grieved alone... but he didn't run the shop alone. He was stuck with the overly energetic Scottish girl who practically forced him to at least try and get his life back. It was a fine sentiment but she just wouldn't leave him be! She gave him what he needed though: a reason to get up and get to work. He had a passion and she was just igniting it. However, he missed Rory, but his pride wouldn't let him do anything about it.

Rory hadn't spoken to George since their fight two years prior. That is, until they're forced to thanks to an old friend. But can they ever be as they used to be? Can they ever bring each other peace?

yes, in true fiona fashion i'm rewriting this! the plot will be the same but the build up and time line is different! i'm sorry if you enjoyed what was going on so far, i just wasn't happy with it. if you don't want to reread it, i get it!! like i said, the plot isn't much different. instead of starting in august 2000, it's going to start in june 2000 and rory will already be at hogwarts and know ghost fred. the relationships are going to be more slowburn also. thanks for always putting up with my antics like this, you guys are the best <3
