I would like to dedicate the second chapter of Payment to a Pirate to @Monochrome-Fairy for being the first fan! May there be many more to come. :3

Lucy Heartfilia's POV

A pirate? A pirate?! Out of all of the billions if men for my father to put me with, he picks a pirate?!

My heart was hammering in my chest. What was I supposed to do?

"Dragneel." Loke greeted with disgust. The pirate just smirked. "Now, now. No need for the malicious behavior. After all, I won fair and square." Sharp teeth glinted in the sun from his grin.

"Liar! You gambled with a king drunk in his own grief! How is that fair?!" Loke spat at him. This seemed to have angered the salmon haired man. "I have no control over him. He wanted to gamble. He lost. It happens! He didn't want to get rid of his money so he offered me her." Her? Hurt bubbled in my chest. I was not some object. "Now, if you are done arguing like a child, I'll be taking my leave now. Come, girl." He orders and with that, turns and boards the large ship.

My feet refuse to move. Fear was swallowing me whole. He looked back at me with an annoyed face. "Are you deaf or somethin'? I told you to come on." I opened my mouth to speak but I was interrupted by a soft, feminine voice. "Natsu!" The voice scolded.

I looked up to see a white-haired goddess. Her hair like snow, eyes like the ocean. Nothing but kindness poured out of this woman. "That is no way to treat a lady, much less a princess." She walked down the small ramp, her pink dress trailing behind her. Her smile made me feel safe.

She held out her hand to me. "Hello, my name is Mirajane Strauss, but you can just call me Mira." I nervously clasped my hand in hers. "L-Lucy H-H-Heartfilia." I said back.

"I'm sorry about Captain Natsu, he can be a bit angry sometimes. But not everyone on this ship is mean." Mira reached out to Loke and grabbed my suitcase. "Thank you for bringing Lucy." With my suitcase in one hand and my hand in her other, she lead me upon the ship.

Over the loud noises of laughing, talking and fighting , I managed to hear her tell me the ship was called Fairy Tail. Strange name for a ship, if you ask me, but I'm assuming you didn't.

Walking past dozens of people I learned their faces and names quickly. The red headed woman was Erza, who was also Captain Natsu's first mate. A young girl with long sapphire hair was Wendy and she had a white haired cat named Carla. There was another girl around my age with short blue hair named Levy, following her was her companions Jet and Droy. A guy named Gray had a stripping problem and was the navigator. A rather large man with unnaturally long hair with red eyes was Gajeel and he was in charge of ship repairs. I even discovered Mira ha younger siblings, Elfman and Lisanna.

My brain was rattling after a huge blow of events all at once. Let's review the list, shall we...

1.) My dad sold me to a pirate so he wouldn't lose all his money

2.) Said pirate has weird pink hair

3.) He seems mean.

4.) He also kinda smells bad.

5.) And on top of all this, I had to meet what seemed like a million people.

Yay me....

"Gray-sama! Why don't you love me?!" The Water Woman named Juvia wailed, chasing the poor stripper man across the deck. "Knock it off, will ya?" The ice mage exclaimed, desperately trying to free himself from her. I couldn't hold back the giggle that escaped my lips. They would be a cute couple.

Mira's arm brushed up against mine as she whispered with sparkly eyes. "You ship Gruvia too?" I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "Gruvia?"

Mira gave me a "isn't it obvious what I was talking about, you idiot" look. "Gray and Juvia. Get it? Pretty clever, huh? Thought of it myself." She beamed in pride of herself. I laughed and nodded. "That is pretty smart, and yeah, they would be cute together."

"Lucy! Get over here!" Captain Pink Hair yelled from the ship steering wheel. Great....

"Coming!" I yell back, pulling up my skirts and gracefully striding across the deck like the beautiful goddess I am.

 Did I mention I had a really high self esteem?

"I have rules for you." He stated.

I groaned. "Rules? Pirates aren't the type to follow rules. That's kinda what their deal." I point out.

He rolled eyes. "You aren't exactly a pirate, now are you, princess?"

Okay, that hurt.

I just huffed at him and crossed my arms over my chest.

"Erza, read the rules." Almight Captain of God proclaimed.

The red headed re-quip mage gave a look of "did you really just tell me to do that?".

"Do I look like your slave?" She said with a raised brow. Pinky smirked. "No, Lucy is. Now shut up and read the rules."

Erza glared at him and grabbed the paper from his hands.

"Rule One, Lucy Heartfilia is not to leave the Captain's Quarters unless given permission by or escorted by Captain Natsu Dragneel or the following persons, Erza Scarlet, Juvia Lockser, Levy McGarden or Mirajane Strauss."

"So what? I'm going to be in a stuffy room all day?" I complain.

"Quiet." Natsu barks. On instinct, I lower my gaze to the floor.

Bite your tongue, Lucy. You aren't in the palace anymore.

Once he was sure of my silence, he ordered Erza to continue.

"Rule Two, All of Lucy Heartfilia's clothes must be approved by Captain Natsu Dragneel before purchasing or wearing. This rule will remain permanent however exceptions may apply. Rule Three, Lucy Heartfilia will obey every command of Captain Natsu Dragneel. If this rule is broken consequences will occur as said Captain sees fit."

I chill went down my spine. Just exactly what kind of commands will there be?

"Rule Four," Erza went on. "Lucy Heartfilia will receive at least two baths a day from the following, Erza Scarlet, Juvia Lockser, Levy McGarden or Mirajane Strauss. This rule is by no means permanent and may be changed or done away with."

And with that, she rolled up the piece of paper and gave a look to Natsu as if waiting for a command. "That is all, Scarlet. Thank you. Now, leave us."

"Yes, sir." She said politely and left.

Fear overcame my body as I was left alone with this monster. He neared me, I could feel myself shaking despite my plea to my body to show no fear. Fear will get you killed. His rough and calloused hand reached up and cupped my cheek. His onyx eyes met my chocolate ones and i felt like I would melt. Mixed emotions was hidden behind his facade. I saw a hard shell that shut everyone out, but I could tell there was something else inside. As his eyes bore into mine, sadness was seeping through and cracking his shell. "You're afraid of me, aren't you?" He whispered sweetly to me, tucking a loose tendril of hair behind my ear.

I gulped. "I don't even know you." You're a pirate. Famous for raping and pillaging.

"So you automatically are afraid of people you don't know?" He asked, angered flashing in his eyes, the sadness had crept back into the shell of his soul as his anger flamed through.

"I-I-" I began. Isn't it natural to be afraid of what you do not know?

He chuckled darkly and shook his head. "You royals are all the same, you know that, don't you? You may be afraid of what you don't know. But this is different. You think you know me. You have no fucking idea the closest detail about me. All you do is sit on your pile of money and jewels and use stereotypical names for things you only get a glance of. Wake up, princess! You aren't in a castle anymore! You don't know anything about the real world!" He barked at me, his voice was raising with every word he breathed until he was flat out yelling.

My eyes was wide the a deer's.

He got up from his chair and stomped over to his door, pulling it open. But before he left, he said something else: "Oh, and you think you can trust Mira and all the other girls? They stole before. They've even killed before. And they would do it again too. You'd be surprised what you would do to survive. Be careful who you trust, Heartfilia. I'd hate to have to mop your blood off the ground."

And with that, he was gone and I was left in my pile of self-pity and guilt.

What had I said?

Curling up in a small ball, I let out all the tears I had been holding in as I curled up into a tiny ball.

Lord, have mercy on my soul...

Hey guys, how was chapter two? I'M SO SORRY IT WAS EXTREMELY SHORT. I have been on vacation and I have been super busy. But I will try and update soon. Also, even though this my story and I will do what I will, I was wondering what ships (not pirate ones lol) you would like in this story. I know some like Miraxus aren't as popular but I am all for any suggestions. Also, since there will be more than Nalu in this story, I was pondering the use of lemons in my story. I can write them out as a lime or an actual lemon or just come out and just say they did the deed. They can be for any ship, I plan on changing POV's instead of using Lucy's all the time. Sadly, I can only write a small portion of the story until feedback is given so I can make the story more enjoyable for everyone.
