Letty's POV

It hasn't even been an hour since Jacob arrived and Mason is still sleeping in my arms. When I hear a familiar voice outside. I go out to se Leah and Seth also here with Jacob. "Leah!" I say surprised.

"Letty!" she shouts and rushes over to me. "Are you both ok?" she asks me concerned.

"We're fine" I assure her and let her take Mason. "But what are you doing here?" I ask her concerned.

"I left Sam's pack like those" she says nodding to Seth and Jacob. "I brought you a bag of somethings" she states.

"Thanks Leah" I say with a grateful smile. She sniffs Mason and scowls. "What's wrong?" I ask her concerned.

"You both smell like leeches" she grumbles and I giggle.

"Well we were just in a house full of them" I remind her. "Is Paul here?" I ask her curious.

"No" she answers.

"Well I am glad you're here anyway" I state.

"He's not happy you're here" she tells me.

"He has no say in what I do. Besides Mason and I are perfectly safe, along with my future daughter" I state. "Do you know what Sam's plan is?" I ask her.

"I do" she answers.

"What is it?" Jacob asks her.

"I'll leave you guys to talk" I tell them. "Take care of Mason for me?" I ask Leah.

"Always" she says hugging him close. I smile and kiss Mason's cheek before heading for the stream. I kneel beside it and run my fingers through the cool water. I sigh, it's so peaceful out here. I hear a twig snap and look up to see Paul I sigh and get to my feet.

"Hello Paul" I say.

"Where's Mason?" he asks me.

"Safe with Leah" I tell him.

"I want you both home" he tells me.

"The reserve isn't my home Paul, it hasn't been for a long time" I state.

"Don't say that, your family is there. I'm there, it is your home. It's where you and our babies belong" he tells me. "It's not safe here for any of you" he states.

"Says who?" I ask him crossing my arms.

"Says me" he states. "Letty the vampires have bred something horrible, if you guys stay here you could die" he tells me.

"If you're talking about Bella's baby. It is not horrible or dangerous. It's just a baby" I state.

"It's abomination" he tells me and I glare him.

"What's that make our babies?" I ask with a sneer. "They are also half human" I remind him. "But the Cullens haven't hurt or threaten Mason in any way. Or our future daughter" I state. "Just because Bella's baby is different and one has never existed before to our knowledge. Doesn't make it dangerous" I tell him calmly.

"I'm trying to protect you all!" he snaps. "The pack is now divided because of Jacob. There is supposed to be only one alpha, one pack. Not two" he states. "And I can't defy Sam, he wants that baby gone" he tells me.

"Well if you want to kill Bella or her baby. You'll have to go through Mason and I" I tell him as I back away. "We're staying, until Sam sees sense" I state.

"Please don't do this Letty" he pleads.

"I have no choice" I tell him. "My heart is telling me that Bella's baby isn't a threat and it maybe broken. But I trust it when it tells me that my babies aren't in danger" I state.

"Sam has the house surrounded" he tells me. "We're to kill any Cullen on sit, they won't be able ti hunt. They'll get thristy. Then you and our babies will be in danger" he states.

"No, we won't" I assure him. "Jacob, Seth and Leah will protect us" I state. "I know you won't leave Sam and can't defy his orders. But please Paul trust me when I say I won't let anything happen to our son or myself" I tell him.

"I do trust you" he tells me.

"Then go" I tell him.

"Ok" he says and goes to leave. But pauses and looks back at me. "I'm sorry about what happened between Rachel and I. I have no idea what happened" he tells me.

"I really don't want to talk about that" I tell him trying not to think about him kissing her.

"I know, but I am sorry. Very sorry" he tells me. We here a wolf howl. "I gotta go, see you when this is over" he states and disappears into the trees. I sigh and go back to the house. I see Leah outside with Mason.

"How did it go?" she asks me.

"You heard?" I ask.

"I smelt him" she states.

"It was ok" I tell her as I take Mason. Jacob appears.

"I know they're out there somewhere, but I can't hear them anymore. It's so quiet" he states look at the forest around us.

"I stopped hearing them, too, the second I decided to leave. It's nice" Leah tells him.

"You know you can't stay here" he tells her and I frown. Why can't she?

"But Mason is here and I don't have any other place..." she starts to say.

"I can't trust you with the Cullens. You hate them too much. You don't even like me" he tells her.

"I don't have to. I just have to follow you" she tells him.

"Look, Seth doesn't want you here. Neither do I" he tells her.

"Being unwanted isn't exactly a new thing for me. Look, I'll stay out of your way. I'll do whatever you want except go back to Sam's pack and be the pathetic ex-girlfriend he can't get away from. You don't know how many times I wished I could imprint on someone. Anyone" she tells him and smiles at Mason.

"Just to break the connection" he says.

"And it did, but I still wasn't happy being apart of Sam's pack" she states. "But now I have a chance to be" she tells him.

"I'm go do a perimeter swipe, you got my flank?" he asks her. She nods her head. He takes off and she kisses Mason's forehead before following him.

"I'm happy she has Mason" Seth states as she comes to stand beside me. "She still thinks about Sam occasionally, but no where near as much as she used to. She's actually starting to mellow out a little" he tells me.

"It's understandable that she still thinks of Sam occasionally. As Mason is only a baby and it'll be many years before she will be able to see him as a romantic partner" I remind him. "Please don't give her such a hard time, you have no idea how much she hurt after losing Sam to Emily" I tell him. "Sure you've seen both their versions of events, but you can never truly understand how she feels unless you went through the same thing. Like I have" I state.

"Except you had it worse" he states.

"True, but I still had you and the pack for support. None of you have given her any support or shown her any sympathy. She just needs to know she can count on you" I tell him. "Because she is your sister" I remind him.

"Thanks Letty, I needed to hear that" he admits. "Esme made us lunch" he tells me. I smile and we go inside together. As Mason wakes up. We thank Esme for the food and start to enjoy lunch. While she feeds Mason for me.
