(December 18th, 2006) Letty's POV

It's been a week since the Cullens started gathering witnesses. So far only the Denalis and two others have arrived. Peter and Charlotte, old friends of Jasper's. But more are meant to be arriving over the next several days. Which means more members will join the pack. Dr Cullen advised I not come to his house for my appointment and Paul agreed. But I was not gonna let some vampires stop me from seeing my doctor. Besides this is my last appointment for the year and all this should be over before the year ends.

Anyway, Mason is at Paul's with Rocky. They are decorating his Christmas tree. Rachel isn't present as she is in Seattle doing last minute Christmas shopping. Leah, Kim, Sue, and Emily went with her. Paul tried to get me to stay, but I wasn't going to let him control my life. Rosalie is right, he isn't worth and I cannot let one guy rule my life. It's not good for me or my kids.

Besides it's nearly Christmas. A time of giving, family and love. It's time I start to put myself back together. After all how can I expect someone to love me, if I don't see anything about me worth loving? If I look in the mirror and only see a broken toy? Answer, no one will. I'm not ready to search for someone yet. But I am ready to start living my life again. For me and my kids.

"Aunt Letty!" a young voice chimes as I get out of my car. I smile as I turn to hug little Renesmee. "Is Mason with you? What about Rocky?" she asks me curious.

"Not today beautiful, but you will see them for Christmas" I assure her. "Have you been having fun making new friends?" I ask her.

"Yes, they're great" she tells me with a bright smile.

"Who's been your favourite so far?" I ask her curious.

"Benjamin!" she cheers and I giggle.

"Oh and what makes him so amazing?" I ask her.

"He can control elements, see" she says placing her hand on my cheek. I get a flash of a young man with olive skin. Showing Renesmee a small whirlwind.

"He sounds lovely" I tell her as she drops her hand.

"Want to meet him?" she asks me.

"Not right now, I am here to see you grandfather. Is he in?" I ask her and she nods her head. We go inside together and everyone looks at me surprised. Carlisle appears in front of me.

"You're early Letty" he states.

"Sorry" I say sheepishly. "I can wait if you're busy" I tell him.

"No, please follow me upstairs" he says and guides me upstairs. As we do I catch the ruby red eyes of Benjamin. My heart skips a beat, he is even more attractive in person. I look away though olive skinned female vampire touches his arm eyeing me. Must be his mate I think to myself. "How are you going Letty?" he asks me.

"Good, really good actually. I'm getting into the Christmas spirit and I think I am finally ready to start putting myself back together" I tell him.

"That's lovely to hear" he states. "Cravings?" he asks.

"Eased up a little, I still can't believe I am already 28 weeks" I state.

"Your final trimester" he says with a smile as he turns on the ultrasound machine on. "Remember no strenuous exercise, fish, deli meats, long car trips and airplane flights" he reminds.

"Is that your why of saying I should hold off moving until Aquila is born?" I ask him.

"Yes" he says as he does the ultrasound.

"Well you are my doctor and I respect your medical opinion" I tell him. "Besides the house Leah and I were looking to rent. Looks like the home owners are deciding to move back. To be closer to family" I explain. "So we've been looking for a new place" I state.

"Well little Aquila is growing well, she is on track to be born around her due date" he tells me as he wipes the gel from my stomach. "Remember I am only a phone call away if you have any concerns. Otherwise I'll see you in the new yea" he says with a smile.

"Trying to get rid of me Carlisle?" I ask him.

"We have more guests arriving and I think it'd be best you not hang around today" he tells me.

"Of course, I understand" I assure him. He escorts me out. "I'll send gifts with Bella for you and your family" I tell him. He gives me a grateful smile and I leave. I get in my car and drive to Paul's. I find him napping with Mason and shake my head. I cover them with a blanket and start to clean up the mess they had made. My mind drifting to Benjamin wondering where he is from? How long he'd been a vampire for? What age was he turned? Can he control all elements or just wind? Why do I want to know everything about him?

(Cullen house) Third Persons POV

"Who was the human?" Amun asks.

"Letticia Ateara, she is a patient and family friend" Esme answers.

"I remember her from Bella and Edward's wedding" Kate says with a smile.

"Aunt Letty has a dog, he is so smart" Renesmee chimes.

"Is the father in the picture?" Benjamin asks.

"That's complicated" Bella tells him.

"Not really, he imprinted and broke up with her. Now she has two kids to raise on her own" Rosalie summaries.

"She suffered a lot and is only now starting to put herself back together" Carlisle states.

"She is strong and resilient" Esme adds. And beautiful  Benjamin thinks. He has to see her again. He'd get Tia to cover for him. After all, what else are sisters/best friends for? Just then Edward arrives outside with Garrett.

"Time to meet someone else" Bella tells Renesmee. Then takes her outside. While Benjamin gets Tia's attention and they go upstairs.
