A Summer Day Out
July 31
Raina
Location: Above Slateport City, Hoenn
Date: July 31
Exactly two months and ten days have passed ever since Owen and I left the Johto region for now. We've been training with each other to get even stronger. It was my idea. Since Owen was weak against Water-Type moves, I decided that we could train together. We also train with our Pokemon and spar with them. For now, we haven't ran into any trouble or threat, like Harley, which is reall y lucky. Yesterday, we met Brendan in Littleroot Town. Owen and I got to catch up with him and tell him about our adventures in Johto and how we became Patrons (We left out the stuff about Harley. He has his own problems to worry about and we didn't want to add our problems to his). Now, all three of us are going to Slateport City to hang out. It's been way to long since we last saw each other! 🌸
I quickly snapped my journal shut, putting it away. I turned back to my two best friends. "How much longer till we get there?" I asked them. Owen huffed. "Calm down, Rain! We're almost there! Arceus, are you really that excited?" He muttered. Brendan laughed. "Is she always like this?" Owen gave Brendan an amused look. "Usually I'm the excited one and Raina's the calm one, but today it's the other way around, Brendan. She isn't usually this hyped up."
"Just because I don't express my emotions doesn't mean that I'm emotionless like Silver!" I argued. "I'm just psyched because Brendan's able to come with us!" Owen put his hands up in defeat. "Alright, alright, you win. I'm sorry, okay? Now, if you're done raging, let's go. Tropius landed." I nodded, getting off of the Pokemon and grabbed my two best friend's hand. "Now, let's have one heck of a good time here!"

Location: Slateport Shopping Complex
"Sweet Lady Creation . . . this place is huge." Owen said. "Well, Slateport is one of the largest cities in Hoenn, so it does make sense to have a mall here." Brendan told him. I looked at Owen, to see the his blue eyes were widened. "I take it that it's your first time in Slateport, Owen?"
My best friend looked at me. "You've been here before?" I nodded. "I think I told you . . . I lived at the orphanage here for five years until I ran away and met you in Petalburg City four days later." "That makes sense." Owen said. Brendan looked at me. "You lived at the orphanage?" Owen flashed him a warning look as I sighed. "I don't really like to talk about it, but my father disappeared with my older brother when I was five and then my mother got murdered five months after my dad left with my brother."
Brendan looked down. "Oh, sorry for asking . . ." I shook my head. "It's alright, Brendan. I'm actually kind of relieved getting that off of my chest. It feels kind of lighter now." "More importantly . . ." Owen raised an eyebrow at me. "You have an older brother?" "Yeah, I do . . . sorry for leaving that out, Owen," I said to him. "I think he's a year older than Brendan . . . you are turning 20 in November, right?" The Patron of Groudon nodded. "Yep." "So my brother is turning 21 in December," I concluded. "But enough about that. Where are we going to first, Brendan?" "The movie theater. I heard there's a new movie there." "Then what're we waiting for?" Owen asked. "Let's make like a Sudowoodo and leave!"

Five minutes later. . .
Location: Slateport City Movie Theater
We arrived at the movie theater. "Three tickets for Pokemon Heroes : The Beginning." Brendan told the person at the counter. The man nodded, giving him three slips of paper as Brendan gave him the money.
"You didn't have to pay." I said. He smiled. "It's alright. Besides, you two are younger than me, right?" "By only 6 years," Owen said. "Anyways, we've got 16 minutes until the movie start. Want to do anything before we go to watch the movie?"
I spotted a photo booth. "How 'bout taking a few photos?" The boys blinked and then looked at me. "What?" I grinned, grabbing both of my best friends' hands, running towards the booth, and going inside to take some really crazy photos with Owen and Brendan.

"Wow," Brendan looked at the first roll of photos we took, with silly faces on. "I never knew you could make a face that crazy, Raina" "I didn't know she could do it either, Brendan," Owen said. "Even though I knew her for three months." He mumbled under his breath.
I laughed. "What can I say, I'm a girl of many talents," I grabbed their hands. "Now come on. We have a movie to go and watch!"
We ran back to the movie theater just in time to get popcorn and good seats before the movie started. To tell you the truth, I enjoyed the movie a lot. The story was both interesting and hilarious at the same time. Owen, Brendan, and I couldn't stop laughing.
An hour later, we walked out of the movie theater, laughing. "That movie," Owen said. "Was amazing." "Well, what's next, you two?" Brendan asked us. I heard a grumble and turned to Owen, who looked down, blushing. "Lunch." Both of us said.
Brendan laughed, and then pointed at a restaurant called Clover's. "How about we go there?" Owen and I nodded. "Sure!" We walked into the restaurant and ordered a large pizza for all three of us to split with each other. We talked as we ate.
"So what are you two doing in Hoenn? I thought you two would've stayed in Johto for a few more months." Brendan asked.
Owen and I looked at each other. As much as we wanted to tell Brendan about what happened at the festival, we couldn't. He already had his own problems to worry about like his father, Professor Birch's failing health. We didn't want to add our problems to his. "We did really find anything out from the journals in Johto, so we came back." Owen said.
Brendan nodded. "I see." What Owen said was true in a way. If Harley didn't attack us at the festival, we would've left two days after the festival since we couldn't find anymore info in the journals. "Some of the information is coded, so we'll tell you when we decoded it." I told Brendan. "No other Patrons except out allies know about the journals, right?" Owen asked him.
Brendan smiled. "Don't worry Owen. No one else knows." You see, Owen and I found out that the journals had many other secrets about the powers of each and every Patron and it could be really bad if the journals went into the wrong hands of a normal person (Who could find out about the Patron Order or use Patrons as experiments), or even Harley (Who could use them to enhance his powers or use them any other evil intention. Either way, both options were bad). Only Brendan and our other Patrons who we formed alliances with (Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, and some others) know about the journals. No on else did.
Owen sighed. "Phew. Did Steven find anything more about it?" Brendan shook his head. "Not that much. He didn't really say anything about the journals the last time I saw him." "That's alright, Brendan," I told him. "The journals aren't that important now. How's life in Hoenn going?"
"It's going pretty well. I'm actually thinking of starting a team soon." Owen and I looked at him. "Really?" We both asked. "What's it gonna be like?" I asked him.
Brendan smiled. "I'm also planning on building a pub in Littleroot where my team and I will be stationed at. We'll sell nonalcoholic foods and drinks and then add alcoholic drinks when we're allowed to sell them at the pub. As for my team, for now it's just me, Wally, Damian and Giri. I told you about them."
"Doesn't Giri mean 'honor'?" Owen asked.
"It also means in-law and courtesy," Brendan replied. "It's kind of a nickname he gave himself." I smiled, grabbing the last slice of pizza causing Owen to glare and me while I have him an innocent smile back. "I kinda like your idea for a pub," I said. "It'll be a great place for people who are on a journey to rest at."
We left the restaurant after Brendan paid the bill and went to the park. We continued talking about our adventures and catching up until the sun set down and Owen and I had to go.
"Wait," Brendan gave me a rectangular gift box."For you, Raina. You're birthday was about a week ago, right? This is my gift to you." I looked at the box. "Brendan, you shouldn't have!" He smiled. "It's the least I could do." I smiled. "Thanks." Owen and I got on Owen's Tropius and flew as we waved good-bye to Brendan. "See you soon!"

Ten minutes later...
Location : Slateport City Pokemon Center
I sat on the bed. "What a day!" "Yeah," Owen agreed. "Hey Rain, aren't you going to open your present from Brendan?" I blinked. "Oh, right!" I opened the box to see a pair of clothes similar to what I was wearing now. "A new set of clothes?" I read the note that fell out of the box.
You're growing up real fast. I thought you could use some new clothes since you're getting older. Happy belated birthday, Rain.
Love, Brendan.
I smiled. "Thanks, Brendan."

Finally got to finish typing this. School's online classes take up all of my time to type on the weekdays. I'm really and sincerely sorry this chapter came out later than you all expected.
Next Chapter: Some time has passed since Raina and Owen have caught up with Brendan, and we all know that Owen's is crushing on a certain Water Patron of Lugia. The problem is, will he have to courage to confess to her?
OrigamiLantern11, lights out!
