We walked, It was midnight. I'm not sure how long we walked for but It felt like hours. I mean, I do live a bit far but with Chase It felt longer...he wasn't speaking to me that much, he just looked down and stared at me time to time.

"So, what's up Chase? Your awfully quiet," I stared at him hoping he would reply

"Hm? Oh, nothing..." He sighed

He then immediately snapped

"How far is your house?! My legs are getting sore!" He shot

"It's close...just 15 minutes more," I replied casually

Chase groaned, wrapping his arms from the cold

We walked further, until we were at a alleyway, the damp street light shone its dim light and everything seemed quiet...

Until we heard low, croaky voice coming our way

Two men appeared, wearing a winter hat and a teared coat, they began to come closer...

Chase immediately pushed me back, I widened my eyes as Chase was walking nearer to them

"Oh, look at these two," The man pointed at us "So little, what are you two doing here so late at night?" He walked past Chase and came to me

I shrieked, I started wailing, the man's hand slammed on my mouth making my voice muffled and then tears started flowing down my damp cheek

Chase ran and punched the guy to the ground, Chase gave him a unsatisfied look.

He took my wrist and we ran, I didn't look back but there were tears still dripping down my eyes...

As Chase said...It's dangerous at Night...

We didn't talk for a while after that experience, I quietly thanked him but he didn't respond

"Look, I don't know you that well as we just met but, I'm grateful I know you...If I went alone so late at night I don't think I would be alive...so thanks for everything..." I was appreciative of his acts and I felt a blush establishing on my cheek.

Chase didn't respond though, I sighed and gave up on talking to him.

We arrived at my house a few minutes later, I wasn't keen on Chase now knowing where I live but I think I could trust him...

I walked to my opened door which I forgot to close properly when I dashed out of my house.

Luckily, I don't think anyone broke in, so that's good

I looked up at Chase, I wanted him to look at me too but he just stared at the ground, he looked lost.

"Ahh, I'll get my spare wallet from my room to buy you a Night Taxi," I kindly said

"There's no need...I can walk," He murmured

"Chase, It isn't safe, you saw those creepy people. And besides, You have to walk a long way to get home..."

"I can manage...and I don't need your money," I didn't listen and was about to get my wallet, he held my wrist and gave me a rejecting look "Don't use your money for someone you just met Skye, I could be a bad person...You would never know..." He suggested, Chase let go of my wrist and put his hands in his pockets

"Chase, In my eyes. I see you as a annoyingly great person, even though we had a edgy first start, I enjoy my time with you..." I looked down smiling

"I feel safe..." I whispered, my head went up to look at Chase's face but he wasn't there, he walked away, putting his hoodie on and headed home.

I shook my head and went inside my home, I took a quick shower to calm down and brushed my teeth. Afterwards, I hopped on my uncomfortable bed and turned on my charging phone to check the time

Shoot, It's 1:03 AM, I better sleep, It's a school day tomorrow

I hope Chase is alright...

Sorry about such a short Chapter! I'm just really stressed and I think I have Writer's Block...Also, sorry about the slow updates, It's been a hard past few months but I'll try and update maybe once a week? And If I don't update. Just know I'm a bit busy nowadays. But, I hope you enjoyed this short Chapter. I'll probably write one more chapter here and then I'll update Texas City Girl because I didn't update that for months... Anyways Bye!
