The Aleira family has historically refused to intermarry with anyone outside the domlian race, seeking to keep their bloodlines, and their magic, pure. Of course, such strictness always leads to rebellion; there are numerous tales of family members fleeing to other cities, or even other countries, to elope with their non-domlian lover. There are also tales of forbidden trysts leading to disowned and abandoned half-blooded children.
