9 ~ Me and You Setting in a Honeymoon
When I woke up on the plane, it was just about to land. I looked out the window at the runway. Shoot, I was too late to see some above-ground coverage.
We gathered our bags and walked out into the airport lobby. I had an idea of where we were, but was positive when someone came around and put a lei around me. I spun around to find a lady smiling and placing a red-pink flowery lei. They put a blue-purple one on Patrick.
"Are we in Hawaii?!" I shrieked.
He laughed and hugged me, kissing the top of my head, "Yes we are, a remote island, but still Hawaii."
I squealed, "And we just got leid!"
Patrick giggled as I ran out the doors and into the warm air. It wasn't too humid or too thin of air. It was just right. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. Everything looked like you'd think it was supposed to. There were palm trees and sand and an ocean breeze.
Patrick was right about this being a remote island. There was hardly anyone around other than the occasional tourist family. We rented a car and drove a few miles down the road to a beachside house.
We stopped in the long, curvy driveway and admired the house a little. Patrick smiled and tore of his Velcros and colored socks. He didn't go up the driveway, oh no that was far to simple for him. He rushed into the sand and took the long way up the steps. I laughed and followed.
The house was also very beautiful. There was a large kitchen and dining table with an island and high chairs. The living room was spacey and giant glass windows made for a perfect image.
Upstairs was a master bedroom with the biggest king size bed I've ever seen in my life. It would've took up the whole room if the room wasn't so large itself. We threw our stuff down and explored the rest of the house.
There were other rooms that we stumbled into. There was a game room with a pool table and poker table with a whole bunch of cards and board games. If we had more people, we definitely would've used that.
Outside there was a bonfire on the bottom floor and nicely fabricated lawn chairs were placed in a circle around it. There was, of course, the beach, which honestly seemed like a private beach. There were no signs saying it belonged to us for the time being, but there wasn't another house in sight.
After walking up a flight of stairs, there was a balcony looking down on the water.
"Sunsets," Patrick said and wrapped his arms around my waist from behind me. He looked over my shoulder, "If there's one thing I really want to see, it's a Hawaii beach sunset."
I turned my head and kissed his cheek, "Don't worry, we'll see a lot of those."
He smiled and winked before dipping me over and entering into a love fest. It was so contagious around here. Everyone was happy and we were alone, drowning each other in pride and love. It felt amazing.
We went out for some dinner when the time came and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The staff was incredibly happy to have us and entertained us with music and dance. The food was great, but the show was probably the best. They even showed us how they make the food and that was fun to watch.
There were a few little shops where I bought a t-shirt or two. Patrick came out of a neighboring store with a ukulele.
"Oh it's not like you have enough guitars back at home..." I hold my hands on my hips.
He smiled sweetly up at me and played chords. He just picked it up and was instantly amazing at it. I envied him for it.
When we got back home, the sun was just at its setting. The car door slammed shut and before I knew it, he was running back up the stairs in his bare fear again. I chased him all the way up and found myself at the breathtaking view.
Words couldn't describe how beautiful it was. The sky was red, pink, orange, yellow, blue, green, purple and all the colors that you could possibly think of. The colors were all there in perfect harmony with each other.
"That's amazing..." I barely mustered and said with a breath.
Patrick found himself dumbstruck as well, "Y-yeah... It is."
I looked over to him and laughed, putting my hand over his on the balcony. He slid closer and blushed, "Of course, not more beautiful than you."
"But far less beautiful than you," I bumped his hip with mine playfully.
He chuckled and bumped be back a little, looking back as the sun touched the water. Legend had it you could hear when that happened, but neither of us heard a sound.
I turned to him and wrapped my arms around his shoulders, pressing my ear to his heart. He leaned his head down and kissed my ear a few times before whispering, "Wanna do something crazy?"
I smirked and nodded, not knowing what this little Stump had in store for me. His hand locked in mine and he pulled me back into the sand. We ran like maniacs down to the shoreline.
I tried my best to fight the grip on me and broke free just as the water hit my feet. I squealed at how cold it was and ran in the opposite direction. Patrick chased me and eventually scooped me up, carrying me by my chest.
"Geronimo!" he shouted and ran with me into the water, throwing me under once we were deep enough.
I let myself float up to the top and shook the wet strands of hair from my face. Patrick tore off his shirt and bow tie, tossing them ashore. He wet his hair and pushed it back and out of his face.
"Well by golly, look who it is!" I told him in my best country accent.
He chuckled adorably, putting his hands on his hips, "Who would that be?"
"Here it is folks! Mister Patrick Stump without a shirt! Talk about personal information!" I joked.
He clapped his hands together and bent his back in laughter, "Oh I'll show you personal information!"
"Ooh sassy Stump!" I smirked and started back up as he came closer.
"Well that makes two of us," he lifted an eyebrow and dove at me. I wasn't quick enough to run this time. His lips pressed up to mine under the water and I opened my eyes once he was done. His cheeks puffed up and he widened his eyes, making a stupid face that almost made me choke.
We played around in the water for a while and came back up to dry off. I took a shower and let Patrick in while my hair dried. We lit up a campfire and cuddled closely by it.
Patrick taught me how to play the ukulele that night when the sun was gone and the moon shined high above the sky. The breeze from the water swayed the flame every so often and brought a warm feeling over the two of us. He was never so sweet.
Our week of honeymooning went a lot like that. The whole week it was surprise after another and then a lot of love waiting for me back at our little house. I contemplated actually living here. It was too good to be true, almost like a dream. Some dreams you have to wake up from, but some can last an eternity.
