Imagine #76: Poisoned Youth (Part 9)

'Alarm: Hour-long gig tonight at one simple club...'

Your phone has been ringing and reminding you for that event for the night, you're still Patrick's PA no matter what happened so you had to help him tonight...well, if he even let you go near him. But you really have no idea if he's angry at you or if he's avoiding you, it's more on like you're the one that doesn't want to be with him for the meantime...you're still in disbelief that he doubted you that fast.

You're currently driving towards the venue now and you can see that their van had already arrived in there. You parked your car and immediately walked inside the venue, finding the crew arranging their equipment on the stage.

"Hey, Y/N, Patrick and the boys are already in their dressing room. Patrick's been looking for you too." one of their security said to you the moment he sees you. You smiled at the guy then nodded at him.

"Thanks." You said before walking towards the dressing. "Okay, just act professional now, all problems aside first." You murmured to yourself then after that you knocked on the door.

Seconds later, the door opened and you immediately saw Patrick inside. He looked at you in shock and it like he want to hug you that moment.

"Hey, um, sorry I'm late. I'll get you ready now." You said, really avoiding eye contact with him.

You made yourself busy with preparing all of his clothes and equipment to be used that night and somehow you can still see him looking at you worriedly, but surely he's feeling that you're avoiding him. Time flies and they are now about to go on stage, Patrick was the last one to leave the dressing room, leaving you both alone in there.

"Y/N...t-the other night, I was...I am really sorry, I was just so confused and –

"You believe it do you?" you asked with a sad smile on your face, you're not even looking at him. "Of course, that's the only possible explanation while all of a sudden you fell for me." You continued and Patrick walked closer to you. "Please, Patrick, not now. Just focus on your show." You stopped him then smiled.

After that you left him there, you're already feeling guilty on doing that since you know he'll be frustrated again, but now's really not the time. You just walked to the audience area and decided to watch the concert too.

Of course, they are still great, but to be honest, Patrick's really not that enthusiastic tonight. You also catches him gazing at you at times which make you worry for him more.

"Thank you for coming tonight, everyone. I hope you had a good time!" Pete said over the microphone and the audience cheered.

"So for our last song...um, this is one of our latest song, you might have heard it on a Disney Film too. This song is also completed by a stunning girl present in here now, really, if it wasn't for her, this song will be incomplete and somehow I-I'll be incomplete too." He said shyly and cutely too. You stared at him in shock, you don't even know if that potion doubled the effect now. "This is for you Y/N." he said and the audience had gone 'aawww' over that.

The band performed their new song 'Immortals' and Patrick dedicated the performance for you. You just wanted to go up there and ask 'why the hell would you do that? You knew you're under a love potion and it's like you're even spoiling it now!' But somehow, you have to admit that what he did hit you like a homerun again. What he did now is all too sweet, but then again, you know that it's still all fake.

The short concert finally ended and all of the staff and crew are now having a simple after party. You decided to leave early, but unfortunately, Patrick caught up with you and now he's asking you to talk to him and of course, since you don't have a choice now, you agreed.

"Thanks for dedicating the song to me, but you really don't have to." You told him the moment you arrived in a quieter place in that event.

"But I want to and it's just some form of a thank you for you...and honestly, what I said after that is also the tru—

"Patrick, you're under a love potion. I'm not lying when I say this, but I swear I wasn't the one who gave it to you. All I know is the effect of that potion is in your system and whether you consciously know it or not...all you're feeling right now is caused by that. Trust me." You told him eagerly, but he just stared at you innocently.

"I do believe you...like I said, I was just confused the other night and I can't believe that Courtney manipulated me like that again...but I don't believe that this is all, I mean my feelings, are just caused by that potion." He explained and all you gave him was a low laugh.

You really don't want to argue anymore, how he can even disagree with what he's currently feeling because of that potion. Patrick is technically trapped within this lie, I sighed, looking at him helplessly.

"I really have no idea how Courtney make you go against me, but it's the closest I can get to know that there's a possibility to take the effect of the love potion out from you. But I promise, I'll do everything to make you fine again." You told him.

"You don't understand, Y/N, you're too focused on –

"Patrick? You're really letting yourself fall for her traps, huh?" all of a sudden, Courtney appeared there. She's already standing in front of you with arms crossed, looking at you mockingly too.

"Courtney, shut up and please, just go." Patrick told her and he's already looking annoyed.

"Patrick! Don't let this girl fool you! Can't you see it, she's probably laughing evilly deep inside her. Geez, you're too blind!" Courtney still hasn't stop that really pushed you to your limits.

Initially, you planned to make Patrick drink the Truth potion. You managed to pour it in his drink secretly, you were thinking that maybe if he drank that potion, the truth that he doesn't really love you will come out and maybe it will alter the effect of the love potion...but now, SCREW that plan. You took the untouched drink in front of you and immediately throwing it all on Courtney's face, some of it going inside her mouth.

"How dare you!" she was about to slap you but you caught her arm. You were breathing heavily because of anger, but you kept calm and just mockingly smiled at her.

"5...4...3...2...1." You faintly countdown but letting her hear it. That potion has an immediate effect and now, Courtney will say the truth and nothing but the truth. "Stop lying, Courtney. Tell us now, who really made Patrick drink the love potion?" you seriously asked.

Courtney just laughed at you, but then you noticed her having difficulties in talking.

"I made two potions...the red one is the real love potion and the blue one was just a decoy to make you believe that it's an antidote." She blurted out that made you smile. You look over to Patrick and he looked at her in shock.

"Why did you do that, Courtney?!" you asked.

"I have to capture a video of you making him drink the decoy! To later show him that you were the one who made him drink some kind of a potion when the truth is, I already sneaked the real potion on his tea." She kept talking and she looked at me in horror. I responded to her in a mocking way too. "Wait...what's happening to me?! T-Truth potion, you witch! What are you doing to me?!" she asked, she was about to push me too.

"Don't you touch her, Courtney! I...I don't know what's happening but I'm done with you manipulating me, and if...if it really is a truth potion, I'm going to believe everything you say too. Besides, what you're saying is really something you would do to ruin me." Patrick hissed at her.

"Not only you! Her too. It's because of Y/N why you broke up with me, right?!" Courtney asked.

"Of course! You always blame me for telling Patrick that you are chea—

"Not that, STUPID! Can't you still see?! Patrick broke up with me because he's already falling out of love from us and he's already liking you and you telling that I was cheating made him more confident in breaking up with me!" she blurt that that made you speechless there. "I hate you so much! You made me lose my popular boyfriend and now I'm fame-less too!" she added.

"There! That's why I was already falling out from loving you, Courtney. I realized that you don't really love me and that what I was always been searching for was always with Y/N!" Patrick said and you can't believe what you're hearing right now.

"Oh, aaawwww, well, fuck you two now!" she said, so angry at both of us. "But, I still win, Y/N. You're really stupid and you can't even see it." She added, taunting me again. This girl really won't back down.

"W-What do you mean?!" you asked her and she just laughed, making it last long so she can mock you more before she can say the truth.

"I tortured you, can't you see? Come on, you should know by now that any kind of magic CANNOT create love..." she teased and you were puzzled from everything she was saying. "All I want is...to make you believe that Patrick loves you due to 'love potion' and make you think that it was all a lie. I want you to feel all the 'love' that Patrick gives you and think that it's just all a fake, when the truth is...Patrick's really just in love with you. Good torture, eh?" she said that made you stare at her in disbelief.

She fooled you...over and over again. All this was her plan all along, you came to believe that Patrick was really poisoned, but the truth is...he's not.

"But...h-how, he just suddenly became too sweet to me and why did he fell into a comatose?" you asked, you're all too confused right now to even think.

"The potion I gave him was indeed a 'love potion' but it doesn't create love, it intensifies it, that's why! And I just mixed it with some sleeping potion with a twist too, so the moment you kissed the 'knight'...he'll fall asleep. I don't want you to be happy so I at least wished one of you will die." She said casually like she's just having a chill chitchat with us.

"T-that's why you didn't forget me." You suddenly murmured and looked at Patrick. "The old lady said that you will forget the girl you fall in love with using the love potion completely...but it didn't happen because in the first place, even before you drink the potion that Courtney gave you, y-you were –

"In love with you...that's what I was trying to say. I was too confused that night that I did believe what Courtney said, but I realized that she was just ruining us and I'm sorry...--" Patrick said while staring at me.

"You think it's this easy?" Courtney cut Patrick from talking then she just laughed at us. "Enjoy your love story, lovelies....it won't last long." She said and then stormed off.

"Patrick...how did our story just became like a princessy-disney film with wicked witches on it?" you asked Patrick as you watch Courtney walk away.

"I have no idea, but I'm sure as hell that the climax of the story is just about to start." He said worriedly while holding your hand.

Indeed...it's really just starting.
