Imagine #31: Catch Me If You Can (Part 3)

"Hey, {Y/N}. There's a kid outside who's looking for you." Your friend told you. You're currently at the station and about to finish work, but it seems you have a company.

"Thanks." You told him and walked to the front desk. There's this blonde kid who's waiting for you there and like you expected, it's Declan. "Hey, Kid. What are you doing here?" You smiled at him.

Declan run towards you, handing you a box of Dunkin Donuts.

"Cops love donuts, right? I bought that for you." He sweetly said, you giggled at the kid as yoi accepted the gift.

"I love these, but we can share! Let's go to my office." You said and hold him while walking towards your office.

He was amazed with all the things inside, he's always looking at you like a hero too and you find that sweet and adorable. You've been close to him and his dad for a long time now and somehow you and Patrick are having this mutual feelings for each other and you think Declan can also feel that.

"Did you go here by yourself?" You asked while you give a piece of donut.

"Nope. Dad dropped me here. Didn't you receive his text?" He asks. You took your phone out and he was right, Patrick said that he'll drop Declan for a while because he had to do something.

"Oh sorry, I was busy the whole day." You said. "Do you think my office is cool?" You asked.

"Yes! Cooler than I thought, how do you use these?" He asked while holding a handcuff.

The day continued with you and Declan bonding in your office, telling him stories about your experience as a cop and agent. Declan looks at you with amazement.

"I really want to be like you!" He said and you think that's the best compliment you'll get from anyone. "A-and I really want you to be a part of our family too. I can see Dad likes you very much. And I like you to be my new mom." He said honestly.

You smiled at him, but your heart beat faster...you're suddenly scared again, you didn't expect this to happen again too soon.

"That sounds...great, Declan. Let's see." You just answered him and he hugged you. "Come on, I'll drop you to your house, Patrick might still be busy." You told him.

You drove Declan to their house and to your surprise, it seems like there's someone inside already.

"Looks like your dad forgot to pick you up from my office." You said to him.

"Sorry, he's forgetful." Declan answered while laughing. You both climbed out of the car, accompanying Declan to go inside.

The kid took his keys out and opened the door.

"Can't you just knock?" You asked.

"Let's surprise dad!" You said and the door opened. You smiled at him and both of you walked inside.

You walked inside as Declan run to his dad's recording studio, that might have been his routine. You on the other hand, walked towards the kitchen just to check...but the moment you went there, you regretted it.

You felt that everything stopped as you saw Patrick kissing Elisa in there. You wanted to move, but your feelings stopped you to. Finally, Patrick saw your shocked face while looking at him.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to...to. I just dropped Decl--

"Mom?!!" The kid appeared beside you and he hurried to hug his mom.

"Oh, baby I missed you so much. I'm so sorry!" Elisa said and you pulled yourself together and started to walk away. "You're Agent {y/l/n}, right? Thank you for saving my baby boy and my hus-, Patrick." She added.

You pushed yourself to smile.

"That's my duty. I'll just go now." You said and walked as fast as you can.

Why am I feeling jealousy? I shouldn't! They are family and I'm not in the picture...maybe you just overlooked to things so much and assumed...

"{Y/N}! Wait!" Patrick hurried before you and you stopped before you could go inside your car. "I-I'm...that was...it didn't mean a--

"Patrick, you don't have to exlain anything to me...I'm not your--

"No, it's just...I like you, {Y/N}, and I want us to be toge--

"But you were the one who's kissing her...you still love her Patrick and maybe you're just feeling like that...like you like me because of what I have done for you and Declan. I swear, it's fine, don't you misunderstood gratitude with love." You answered him truthfully, you've really considered that. "Also, this is better, your lives will be endangered if you'rr both with me just fix things with your wife." You said.

You walked inside your car and started to drive away not expecting a tear falling from your eyes.
