Imagine #175: Dubber (One-Shot)

You are a famous voice actress for cartoons and you're currently voicing one of the protagonists of one of the most popular cartoon nowadays. You never knew it would hit that big since the show was only meant to target young audience but it seems older audience began to love the show and your character.

You're also happy about this show because you can also show your singing talent there since it's somehow a musical type of cartoon, and also, there were many other popular singers who have been a special guest on the show and you're always been excited to work with them...but compared to your excitement now? It's waaay more than that.

"You ready for this, Y/N?" the director asked you and you're just tensing up in there inside the live room.

"I honestly might explode right now." you answered. You're feeling like this because a special guest is coming to work with you today and to your luck...it's your ultimate crush - Patrick Stump.

He's going to voice act a new character that your character will have a crush on. It was actually a cute episode, but you're waiting for his singing performance here too. You've actually never seen his band live since you've been busy.

Moments later, you started to record as do your usual thing. You really love your job now, you wanted to act but you're too shy in front of the camera but doing voice acting now is making you reach your goals. You continued to do your work, not realizing Patrick was already in the control room watching you.

Patrick arrived minutes ago and he's thankful he got there in time to see you record, he honestly loves the cartoon and your character too, most especially your voice.

"That's amazing as always, Y/N. Come out for a second, someone wants to meet you." The director said and you were too busy reading the script then that you didn't realize he was already out there. The moment you put down the script and took the headphones off, you felt like melting in there. You pushed yourself to walk out of the live room and the moment you did, Patrick was already there, smiling at you.

"Glad to finally meet you, {your character name} ...uhm, I mean, Y/N." he said while lending out a hand for a handshake. You pushed yourself to shake hands with him and you know you're shaking in excitement right now.

"Pleasure to meet you too, P-Patrick. You don't know how much I'm more glad to finally meet you!" you said while smiling like it would rip your lips.

Patrick cutely chuckled in front of you. "You're a really good voice actress, now I'm anxious to go in there and do this. I feel like I'll mess this up." he said.

"No, no, god no. Your soul voice will never disappoint anyone, Patrick. Trust me." you told him.

Suddenly, you both realized that you're still shaking hands. You just felt your cheeks burning as you both pull back your hands and chuckled cutely.

"Ahem, before you both continue what this is, I think we should finish the episode first? So, you can both focus on getting to know each other." the director said and he's obviously teasing you. That made you blush more and you feel like you want the ground to swallow you down for good.

Patrick smiled at you once again before going inside the live room. You sat beside the director as he started to tell Patrick what he should do and the guy was just natural at this. Soon enough, he began to voice act and all you can do is stare at him in awe. He's really good and you can already imagine that this episode will surely be popular because of him. He also did this cute song and it was about your character, which you think is really cute.

Hours later, you were done with the episode and everything turned out perfect.

"You really have a soul voice." You told Patrick the moment he got out of the live room.

"Of cooooOOOOooooUUUUrrrrrrSSSeeEEE." he playfully sang, showing his soul voice more. You and Patrick laughed because of what he did, you can't believe he's really this easy to get along with.

"Nice working with you, Mr. Stump. I hope we'll be able to work together again." You said to him as you walk out of the studio.

"No, the pleasure is all mine. I've always wanted to be a cartoon character and this made it happen. I also heard you were the one who suggested me for the character?" he asked that made you blush.

"Well, yeah. The moment I heard about the personality of the character and saw it, the first person I thought is you. Okay, that sounded creepy, but it's true." you honestly told him. "Besides, my character has a crush on your character and that also apply in real life. I really look up to you." you said while smiling at him. You weren't really flirting with him, you just want to tell him how much he inspires you.

Suddenly, you saw him blushing which you find so cute.

"You're looking up to a short guy?" he joked and you both just laughed. "But really, thanks, Y/N. Umm, wanna grab some food, maybe coffee or tea? Well, if it's okay with you, if you're free or -- "Patrick asked and he looks so cute because he looked so shy why asking you.

"That would be great, Patrick." you said sweetly and Patrick looked at you with a genuine smile that you know you can never get tired of looking at.
