Imagine #172: Wrong Number (One-shot)

It's a big day for you, but bigger for your sister because it is her wedding day. You're just excited too because you are the Maid of Honor, but you never expected it to be so stressful, you really are the maid for this day.

Since the day started, you didn't stop to be so busy with things. You've been organizing the whole event, the church, and the reception after the wedding. You're the one that makes sure everyone and everything is all ready. It was really a tiring day, but you are enjoying what you're doing. Besides, you're doing this for your sister who's really close to you. You just want everything to be perfect for her big day.

Everything seems to be going smoothly, except for one thing -- your partner in singing for later has backed out and left you alone with the performance. You plan to surprise your sister later in the reception with a short performance you devised, but your partner is currently ruining your plan. You were honestly upset because you're sure that she'll enjoy the performance since you're planning to sing one of her favorite song which is Grand Theft Autumn by Fall Out Boy. You and she are big fangirls of the band and you know she'll appreciate hearing one of their songs on their big day.

You admit that you really don't have a singing voice, that's why you are asking for that friend of yours to help you, but then he's backing out all of a sudden. You know to yourself that you can't just drop the plan like that so you decided to continuously beg for him to come.

You excused yourself for a while since the wedding ceremony has ended and everyone is just busy taking pictures. You went out of the church and quickly dialed your friend's number and put the phone on your ear.

"Please pick up." you murmured and finally, he picked up. "Please, don't leave me hanging here, Matt! You know how I'll be embarrassed if I sing there myself! Pleeeease. Just come to the reception venue later, everything will be just as plan. You'll sing GTA of Fall Out Boy as I play the guitar and back you up, please. This will mean a lot to my newly wed sister! PLEASEEEE!!" you started to say and you're really begging for him.

You were about to beg more, but then your family members had been pulling you inside the church again because they want you in the picture.

"I'll really be expecting you, Matthew! Pleaaaase, don't leave me hanging here. I'll text you the details. I'm really begging you to come!" you said and then hung up. You immediately texted him the place of the reception and hit send before going back inside the church to your family members.

You're just really hoping that your friend will show up.

*Patrick's P.O.V.*

"I'll really be expecting you, Matthew! Please, don't leave me hanging here. I'll text you the details. I'm really begging you to come!" I heard the girl say on the other line. She seemed in a panic and stressed situation and even if I don't know her, I just wanted to calm her down.

She might have typed the wrong number and accidentally called my number instead. It's really funny and big of a coincidence too, she's asking someone to come and perform with her our own song. I really had a feeling that this is some kind of bizarre coincidence, but I actually am considering coming there. Besides, it seems like they are fans and according to her, it's for her newly wed sister...it wouldn't hurt to surprise some of our fans like this. It's just like Maroon 5's Sugar music video.

A minute after she hung the phone, I received the address of the reception and its official then, I'm going to a wedding reception. I'm really feeling that this isn't just a coincidence of some sort, maybe it's destiny's call? Besides, I'm not doing anything bad here, and I'm also single so I have nothing to worry about. I'm just lucky too since I'm not doing anything today and I'm all free to do this.

I immediately got up and dressed in a tuxedo from the Soul Punk era, it's really been a while since I've worn this too. I looked at myself in the mirror, thinking that I'm not overdressed or something, besides it's a wedding reception. I just continued to prepare myself until I grab my keys and drive towards the reception...surely, it'll really be a big surprise when I got there.

I finally climbed down out of my car the moment I parked it around the venue of the reception and I must say, this is fancy. It's a function room in the middle of a big garden, I'm actually fascinated with the view around here. Fortunately, everyone seemed to be inside already and no one has seen me yet. My phone suddenly vibrated and I immediately looked at it.

"Please tell me you're coming. The plan is about to start. T_T" she texted which made me chuckle. Somehow, I'm really interested in meeting this girl.

"I'm here at the parking lot. Please don't be shock the moment you see me." I texted her back with a smirk on my face and then I just decided to wait in there.

I leaned against my car and waited for this girl, somehow I feel nervous too for an unknown reason.

"Oh, thank god! You came! And what's with your text, why would I be shoc----

I finally heard her personally and I turned to her. I saw a very stunning girl wearing a simple lilac colored dress, she's also wearing a small tiara which suits her perfectly.

"Don't panic at the reception, princess." I said while smiling at her. I didn't expect her to be this stunning. She looked at me with a very shocked expression and it seems she was stuck there. "You might have dialed the wrong number because I received the call and the messages, you didn't give me a chance to speak but I'm glad you didn't. I'm happy to be here and at your service!" I enthusiastically said and she suddenly cutely laughed.

"Seriously? Out of all the people that I could have called, it's you?...like the real singer of the song me and my sister love!" she whispered shout and it's like her fangirl soul is being unleashed. I honestly find it so cute. "This is the best mistake I've ever done!" she said and I chuckled at her.

"You call it a mistake, but I call it destiny." I said and I honestly don't know where I'm getting the courage. I'm not just flattering her for nothing, I really meant what I said.

Suddenly, I saw her blush which made her cuter.

"Oh god, I really love you!" she whispered and I swear I've never felt my face this warm before...I'm freaking blushing in front of a girl. I've always heard that from our fans, but this time, I am blushing. "I mean...what? hahaha, God, I'm embarrassing myself, I'm so sorry!" she said and I saw all her cute quirks. Her fangirl soul has really been unleashed.

"You're really cute! I'm really not regretting going here." I stated and finally, she calmed down and faced me again, but her face is still so red.

"My sister will love this surprise. Thank you, Mr. Stump! I'll pay you any amount, just perform this song with me for my sister." she said. I can see that she's really excited for her sister too, she's a caring kind of girl and I like that.

"Please, call me, Patrick. And no need for payment, I came here to my own decision.." I said with a smile.

"You're really like my childhood hero and crush, actually, until now! You're saving me again!" she confessed again. "God, I'm embarrassing myself so much now, I need to calm down!" she said. "Oh, how rude of me! I'm Y/N and really thank you for coming even if you don't know who the heck I am."

I chuckled at her, I really like her cheerful vibe.

"Well, it's worth the risk." I murmured.

"You're really making me explode," she stated and giggled. "But, let's go, let's surprise my sister. She'll definitely love this," she said and both of us walked inside the venue.

I'm really not regretting my decision here.

*Y/N's P.O.V.*

If I'm dreaming right now, I'll kill whoever and whatever will wake me up.

Patrick Stump! I called Patrick Stump instead of my friend and he came here to sing with me and surprise my sister, I MUST BE THE LUCKIEST GIRL IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW! 

You won't believe how shocked I am to see him earlier that's just calmly waiting for me while leaning against his car, god, he's so handsome and kind and all! This was the first time I saw him and I'm so lucky that I didn't collapse. Maybe it's just because of the panic, shock, and stress I'm currently feeling right now. But actually, all that has been wiped away, I'm just feeling like I'm on Cloud 9 right now.

I just realized that my hand was shaking as I strap in the guitar around myself. I'm going to perform with THE Patrick Stump! Who wouldn't be nervous? Besides, this is their song, I'll embarrass myself if I fail.

"Hey, don't be nervous. I don't bite." he sweetly said as he looks at me.

"I-It's just that you'll be hearing me play your song, what if I messed up?" I said I'm not fishing for compliment or anything, I'm just really nervous.

"So what? As long as you're doing your best for your sister. That's what matters the most, right?" he said with that gorgeous smile of his and I swear to God my face is so near to explode right now.

"You're really the best, Patrick. Thank you." I said then I took a deep breath. Luckily, playing guitar is my talent and I'm choosing not to be embarrassed tonight. "Let's go surprise my sister, shall we?" I said with a smirk and I love how confident Patrick's smile is too.

"You got it, Y/N." he said and I started the intro riff of GTA.

We're behind a curtain and everyone was shocked with the sudden sound and after that, Patrick began to sing. God, Y/N! Focus, you're playing the guitar here! Suddenly, you noticed your sister standing up, looking so shocked. She knows it's live. Finally, you and Patrick came out and everyone just lost it. They cheered and sing the song while my sister just stared at us in amazement. When the last chorus came, her husband joined singing too and the moment the song ended the newly wed has kissed too.

"Aww, I love you, sis. I hoped I surprised you with this because trust me, I believe I'm MORE surprised in here than you are." I said while laughing. My sister run to me and hugged me tightly.

"THANK YOU! I have no idea how you did this, but this is amazing! Thank you!" she said with full sincerity in her eyes. I smiled at her too.

"Anything for you, sis!" I said and she went back to her seat in front.

The celebration continued and I just put my guitar backstage again and Patrick was still accompanying me.

"You don't know how much you made this more special, Patrick. You might be getting tired hearing this, but thank you. My friend just decided to cancel out on me earlier, thank you for saving me!" I said. We're now sitting in front of one of the tables in the venue. I'm glad he's willing to stay here too.

"And again, I'm not regretting going here, Y/N. I got to meet a kind family and you. I'm really looking at this as destiny's work." he said and I'm sure I'm blushing here again.

"I'd really be willing to pay you because of what you've done today!" I said while laughing. Suddenly, he began to rub the back of his neck and shyly looks at me.

"Well, if you insist...paying me with a dinner out with me for a night is enough." He said. God! He looks so cute, it's like he's so courageous and shy at the same time! 

"You know only a mad person will say no to that." I said while giggling. "Of course, I'll be glad to have dinner with you, Patrick. Thank you for that offer." I said, acting so formal in there until I couldn't anymore and I'm whisper shouting in front of him. "You don't know how much you're making my heart explooooode!" I said and I made him laugh again, god, I'm getting used to this already and I have no idea if it will good or bad.

"Yep, I'm really not regretting going here!" he said.

Suddenly, the MC called all the single girls in the middle of the venue and I honestly don't want to be in here. It's time for my sister to throw her bouquet and whoever catches it will be the next to having a wedding. I just laughed in there as some of the girls are really acting desperate to get the bouquet. With one second of my sister throwing it, everyone seemed to reach for it, but in vain, because I suddenly felt it falling over my head and hitting me there. I just happen to accidentally catch it because was shocked with the collision.

Wait...I caught it...

Everyone laughed at what happened and cheered and I felt my face burning. That was an embarrassing and cute moment, but now I'm just in there, holding this bouquet. I saw my sister smirking at me then winking while secretly pointing at Patrick and that just made me blush more.

I smiled stupidly at myself, thinking this is all just a very lucky evening for me. I was about to go back to my seat, but then I realized Patrick was already in front of me.

"Care to have dance?" he asked and I smiled then nodded at him.

Fine then, I really hope this won't be the only night I'll be lucky...And maybe it's really not.
