Imagine #164: The Overcast Chronicles (Part 2)

*Y/N's P.O.V.*

I woke up feeling that all air inside my body has left me. I took a very deep breath and slowly catch my breath. I really felt like I have been sprinting for a day and I just stopped to catch my breath. My body and head feel so heavy too and I can't even process anything right now.

I started to make sense of my surroundings and that's when I felt that I was fully awake. I was still outside...sitting on the ground and everything around me is a mess, everything is wrecked and I'm so shocked that I was still alive. I remembered feeling this horrible pain before I pass out, it was because of a very hot rock that hit my palm. I pushed myself to look at my right palm where I first felt the pain, but I was shocked because there are no scars in there, but what was more shocking to me is when I saw a green aura surrounding my palm. I stared at it with a wide eye, but the aura remained there, it was something that I've never seen before. I blinked my eyes a couple of times then finally, it vanished. Maybe I was just hallucinating.

I was busy staring at my palm, but my attention was taken by someone moving just meters from me. I realized that it was Patrick so I immediately got to my feet and ran towards him.

"Pat...Patrick. Oh, thank heavens you're okay!" I said in relief. Patrick had his one hand covering his right eye and he seemed in pain.

"My eye...something hit my eye. It was burning hot...but now the pain was gone." Patrick said in a husky voice as I look at him worriedly.

"L-let me see," I told him as I gently remove his hand from his eye. Patrick slowly opened his eyes and I swear the goose bumps hit me harder this time.

The pupil on his right eye wasn't his usual greenish-gray color, but now it was just a green smoke. I stared at in in shock and disbelief and Patrick might have seen it. He blinked a couple of times then finally it came back to normal, but I swear I saw it differently.

"Y/N, is there something wrong?" he asked me while he holds me in my arms.

"N-nothing, I'm just...still shaken up. Y-your eye is okay." I told him.

Suddenly, I heard some rustling behind us and when I turned, my eyes became so wide. Pete, Joe, and Andy had this glowing green aura too. I stared at them in shock, it looks like I was the only one who can see the aura because Patrick had no shocked expression at all.

"G-guys...can't you see what I'm seeing?" you asked mindlessly because this time, you can see all the aura in your body.

"W-what are you talking about, Y/N?" Pete asked worriedly, trying to look at themselves to figure out what I was talking about.

"These green auras! I had mine in my palm! Patrick's right eye pupil is just green smoke, Andy's arms, Joe's hands and Pete's head. Can't you see it?!" I asked in a panic, I don't know what I was seeing right now.

"Hey, hey, calm down. You're just shaken up, maybe something got caught in your eye." Patrick said while holding me down.

"No! I can see it clearly! Can't you see?! Look at my palm!" I said like a mad person.

Suddenly, I accidentally slipped, but Pete caught me. My palms landed on one of his deep cuts due to the disaster and I heard him groan in pain. Before I could apologize and get off of his wound, I felt my palm warming up. I looked at it and the green aura became brighter and brighter on his wound. I was too mesmerized to move, but suddenly I felt pain in my body in the same spot where Pete's wounds are. It's like I was absorbing the pain to heal him. I gripped on his wound as my palm got warmer and warmer and after a while, I pushed myself to let go...and miraculously, his deep cut was fully healed...but I felt the pain he felt when he got the wound.

"Y-Y/N...how did you..." they all looked at me in shock.

"I don't...I don't know! I told you guys! There was a green aura. It did...it was...my palm was hit by a burning rock earlier and...

"My right eye too, that's what I felt earlier!" Patrick said.

"And my arms...

"I felt the same thing with my hands

"And with my head...That same exact spot where you said you saw green auras." Pete concluded and I swear we all have confused faces right now.

"You healed Pete...does that mean..." Joe said.

"One way to find out," I said in a cracking voice.

I looked at Patrick and saw a cut in his cheeks, I gently put my palms over there and out of nowhere I'm already feeling my palm warming up and simultaneously, I was feeling someone cutting my cheeks.

"AAAHH!" I shouted until I was done healing Patrick. I backed up and held my cheek. I'm really sure that when I'm healing someone, I will experience the pain they have when they acquire the wound or what-so-ever and the pain will be tripled. I almost pass out when I was healing Patrick and they all caught me when I almost collapsed.

"You healed it...but you're feeling something." Andy said.

"I-I just feel weak. Maybe because I'm not used to it." I lied to them. I don't want to tell them the true consequence of using this power, they won't let me use it if they know.

"Are you sure?" Patrick asked worriedly and I pushed myself to smile at him.

"If you have a power because of that rock...it means that we had some too," Joe said while looking at us seriously.

"And I think that meteor gave is the reason behind this fucked up thing that happened to us," I said weakly.

Our surrounding is clear now and finally, we can see the meteor that collided with the soil of our home planet. The five of us looked at it in shock because it's humongous. The meteor has still some burning particles and we're stunned there to do or say anything. We pushed ourselves to look around too and we almost fell to the ground because of the view, everyone is dead...except the five of us. We all looked at each other in confusion and in shock, maybe trying to figure out to ourselves why is it we're still alive having this huge ass meteor fall meters from us while everything around us is wrecked and dead...not only that...it even gave us something we can't comprehend.

*Patrick's P.O.V.*

{1 month later}

It's been four weeks since the incident, but that scene never left us...I know it will never leave us because it even gave us a souvenir to always remember that part of our life...we fucking have powers now like we're living inside a comic book.

Of course, no one instead of the five of us knows this. These power are not a prize to use whenever and wherever we want, like what Spiderman said, with great power comes with great responsibility. Besides, we have no idea what caused this instead of that meteor! Also, we're not using it too much because we know it has a price to pay...whenever we use it, there's a catch.

The first one to find out about the power is Y/N, she had this healing power, she can heal everything but the catch is, she's always feeling a lot weaker after. The girl has a low tolerance for pain and it hurts me to see her like that, lucky we're hiding this to the public or else she might have already built a healing facility and used her powers to heal everyone...this girl is just a natural helper.

Pete, on the other hand, realized he can read minds, but the catch is he always end up on the negative side of the person's brain. Knowing Pete, he's always affected by these pessimistic thoughts and it always backfires at my best friend. These kinds of thought never brought any good to Pete so I'm really encouraging him not to use this power of his.

Joe acquired a power too and his power is that he's like ice and fire, but the catch is that he can't even control it. His left hand is ice and his right hand is fire. We have no way of telling when the power is going to come out, but all we know is that he can't even control it. Also, whenever the power is being used, his eyesight gets weaker and weaker.

Andy obviously got a power too and that's his super strength, but the catch is whenever he uses his power he's losing the ability to walk. That's a serious trade and we can't afford to see him not able to walk so we're really not using this powers so far. The risk is too high.

As for me...we still don't have a clue to what power I have. Y/N said it's my eyesight, but I can't even do anything with it. No clear vision, nor x-ray vision, I can't even foresee the future nor the past. I have no idea on what power I got or if I ever got one from it...but I think the latter is better, at least I don't have to worry about myself...I'll just have to deal thinking how can I help my friends with these curses.

We're lucky we're given a break due to the disaster, but still, the media won't leave us alone. We were just one of the survivors of that deadly meteor. As much as I can remember only 10 survived and we're the five on that count and we concluded that maybe the other five have acquired something alike to what we have...maybe that's the reason why we survived the impact.

"I think that rock that hit us came from the meteor. It was burning hot and it went through all of our skin and it came from God knows where!" Y/N said while staring at his palm.

"You're right, but all these powers have a catch and we should just all agree to never use these powers. For our sake and the sake of the sanity of this planet. I swear we'll break it if we go out saying 'look! We're a band that have super powers!'" Pete said.

"I agree with Pete. The risks are too high, the catch of your powers are too ridiculous. It's not worth it." I told them.

"Unless it's really needed," Y/N stated while looking at me seriously. "Lucky, we're the ones who got all these powers...but what if our speculations are true, what if those other five survivors got something like what we have and what if they are not like us who is kind to the species of this earth? I mean they could be villains. Okay, I sound pathetic, but what I mean is we should use it if it's really needed...or I should use it, the catch for me is not too much too." She explained and I know she already has four pairs of serious eyes looking at her. "What? I'm only getting weaker, I can regain my energy!" she added.

"NO!" the four of us said at the same time and she put her hands up in defeat.

"Jeez, fine, calm down." She said.

"We just really have to think of our actions right now...everything magic comes with a prize, guys." Andy said. And we know that if this guy says something like that...shit just got really serious.
