Imagine #150: Dare Me Not (Part 12)

*Y/N's P.O.V*

"I've always been curious, why is the Big 4  not doing anything to you. I mean you're absolutely going over their rankings, are they not threatening you or something?" Brendon suddenly asked me.

I must say, I didn't expect that question from him and I just chuckled as a reply. I guess I could tell him what I know since we've been talking often recently and I must say we've become close too. The guy is so hyper and funny, it's just comforting to talk to him, unlike Patrick that always shifts his attitude.

"I guess I'll tell you what I know...you see, they are doing something but fortunately for me, I know what it is." I explained and he just looked at me curiously. "On the first week of classes, well, they were already feeling threatened back then, so the four of them decided to do something about it and dared Patrick to make me fall in love with him so they can distract me and then by the end just ruin me. Fortunately, I was there and I overheard them talking and from then on I knew what I had to do, I'll just ride with them and at the end, I'll be the one who'll have the last laugh." I explained to him and Brendon just looked at me in shock.

"That's...cruel. If you haven't heard them, that's just plain cruel." he said and I just gave him a small smile. 

"They really are something peculiar." I said then chuckled. "It's just so weird that the most intelligent people in this college are the bullies."

"Well, they are right on the part where you are a big threat, because you really did surpass them, but still, that didn't give them the permission to do that to you." Brendon said and I nodded at him.

"At least I found out, right? Now they won't fool me anymore." I answered him with a confident smile. Suddenly, Brendon gave me a teasing smile. 

"How sure you are that you're still not falling for that Patrick even if you know?" he said and I was shocked with what he said.

"Don't be stupid, I won't!" I said that came out in a more defensive manner, luckily, Brendon just laughed and dropped the topic.

"Good," he said as if he's relieved or something. "But still, be careful when he's with you okay? You never know how desperate they are to ruin you." he said becoming all too serious and caring suddenly. I saw the sincerity in his eyes and I couldn't believe I felt my cheeks warm after that. I'm blushing.

Brendon and I have really been close recently, I've known things about him and vice versa and really he's an nice guy. He's also talented and very attracting too. His optimistic and carefree attitude is alike to mine, but he's also a lot caring than he seems to be. I always find him looking out for me in simple things and I think that's just amazing and sometimes I do feel that he wants to tell me something that he's shy about, but really, I don't want to be that assuming now.

"Don't worry, I won't let them drag me down." I said, regaining my posture and smiling at him. Brendon smiled at me sweetly which I just like.

"I have an idea, what if you have a boyfriend? Maybe they'll stop the dare too." he suddenly said that took me in surprise. I just chuckled at Brendon while I shake my head.

"I don't think so, maybe they'll just change the dare or something." I answered him. "Besides, I think Patrick won't just back down if he finds out that someone is courting me."

"Come on, you know that what Patrick is doing is all fraud, of course, the other guy would win your heart." he said.

"Meh, depends on who that guy is." I said playfully while smiling. Brendon just chuckled at me too.

"What if it's me?" he suddenly murmured and on that moment, I felt that my face will explode any second.  "Kidding! You're blushing so much today, Y/N. It's so cute." he said while pinching my cheeks and I managed to giggle at him.

I know Brendon, he likes to joke about things...but sometimes, his joke are half true.

*The Following Morning*

It's the start of the College Festival and we'll be opening the Horror Booth this morning. I should be thinking about that, and the quiz bee and the singing contest, but I couldn't get Brendon out of my head. What he said yesterday is still on my head...or maybe I'm just really assuming?

"Stop it, Y/N. Focus!" I whispered to myself and after that Meagan walked inside the classroom.

"Are you talking to yourself?" she asked and I just laughed.

"No, so, what am I wearing?" I asked her. She volunteered to help me get ready for the horror booth. Of course, as the operators of that booth, we have to stick to the theme...we need to to be creepy too.

"You'll be the creepy doll, Y/N! So let's start with the makeup!" she said excitedly and I just let Meagan do what she must. 

It took us an hour to get ready. Now, there's makeup on my face and I'm wearing this black balloon gown. Finally, Meagan let me see myself in front of the mirror and I swear I look so creepy!

"This is amazing!" I murmured as I look at Meagan.

"Thanks!" she said with a satisfied look on her face. I hugged Meagan and thanked her for everything.

"I'll pay you back later, Meagan. Trust me, you'll love it." I said with a smirk and she looked at me curiously.

"What are you planning to do?" she asked, but I just decided to get my things and be ready to walk to the gym.

"It's a surprise, Meagan! Enjoy the day!" I said as I leave. She'll be a part of several activities later too, but now I know she'll be curious all day about my surprise to her.

But I know a promise is a promise, and I told her that I would help her with Pete...and this is the perfect day to make them meet and talk to each other later.

*Patrick's P.O.V.*

She's late, it's thirty minutes have passed since our meet-up time and she's still not here in the horror booth. Fortunately, there are not many people yet since it's still early, but I really want to see her now, I'm curious about her costume.

As for me, I just look like a vampire...no, not the sparkling one, but the classical one that wears this long coat with collars. Since I'm pale, I don't need much foundation, I just have this fake vampire teeth and viola, I look like a vampire now. A hot vampire on that note too.

People around the horror booth have been wanting to take pictures with me too, well, of course, who wouldn't want to take pictures with a hot vampire. I'm just letting the time pass as I wait for Y/N. Finally, I began to notice someone walking towards me, she's wearing a black balloon gown and I swear I would have sprinted away from that place if I'm alone there. It's Y/N and she's so CREEPY...beautiful but CREEPY!

She's a life-size creepy doll, but honestly, it's beautiful on her but still CREEPY. Meagan really did a great job on her. I smirked at Y/N as I began to walk towards her too.

"That explains why you're so lat--

"Y/N?! Oh my god, is that you?" suddenly, someone cut me off from the people around the booth. It was that guy again, Brendon. Y/N shifted his attention from me to him and I swear I became annoyed that moment. "You look so pretty and creepy!" he said, Y/N walked towards her and they talked...and someone, even if there's makeup on her face I can see her blushing so much.

"You're so early today." I heard Y/N say.

"I wanted to see you in costume and I must say I'm not disappointed!" Brendon said and Y/N just giggled. She's so shy and looking so vulnerable to him. Her cheeks are blushing too.

I began to conclude that something is happening between these two. Recently, I've been seeing them always talking to each other, Y/N is always holding her phone and it seems that he's chatting with someone which I assume to be Brendon. They've really been close and it honestly annoys me.

Y/N is min--

Wait, what am I thinking?!

"Hey! Sparkling vampire, are you there?" I suddenly got back to my senses and saw Y/N standing in front of me. "Penny for your troubled thoughts?" she teased. I just smirked at her.

"So, where's YOUR Brendon now?" I asked and walked back to the table just in front of the booth. Y/N followed me. 

"What? Brendon is NOT mine, and he needs to do something now. Why the grumpy face?" she asked me.

"Nothing, let's just start this booth, shall we?" I said. I just pushed my thoughts away, I honestly want to enjoy this booth too, we've worked hard for this shit and I'm not ruining it.

"Good morning, co-students! We are officially opening our horror booth! Enter here if you dare." Both Y/N and I said and the students around cheered and in no time, we're so busy accommodating the people.

Y/N just kept on talking to the people around and really her positive attitude and kindness is not perfect for her costume, it feels like she should be so mean while wearing that gown, but still she manage to make everyone around her smile and appreciate her.

Her smile is the natural one too, unlike the prideful one she always gives to me. I honestly want to take out my phone and capture her while smiling like that but that would be the CREEPY thing in here. Finally, people around us are decreasing and leaving with satisfied and scared faces, we've been successful since a lot have been telling us we did great.

Y/N sat on the chair next to me just in front the table near the booth.

"I didn't expect the college festival to be this happy! It's so much noisier today." she said with a smile.

"Of course, and the day is just starting, Y/N. A lot will happen." I said as I remember that we should lock her up somewhere for the mean time.

"Anyways! Don't forget to help me with meeting Meagan and Pete, okay?! You promised you'd help. There;s this blind date booth on the third floor, we'll bring them there." she explained.

"Don't worry, I'll help you on that." I said and that time I wasn't lying anymore, I really want to help those two. "Goodluck in the quiz bee competition and the singing competition, Y/N. May the best one wins." I suddenly said, smirking at her. Y/N looked at me as if she's observing me.

"Indeed, may the best one win." she said...and somehow I know she's expecting that something will happen before that.

Finally, it's time for the quiz bee! Y/N and I have been preparing to close up and leave the horror booth to go to the quiz bee and I'm so confused because Elaine is still not here. She said she'll be the one who'll devise the plan on where Y/N should be accidentally locked up on.

"I'll check all the device inside the horror booth, I'll make sure everything is unplugged." she said then I just nodded since I'm busy looking around for Elaine.

I was about to call my girlfriend, but suddenly I heard a small explosion inside the horror booth and I swear I've never run that fast to go inside that place.

"Y/N?! Are you okay?!" I said and I can't believe I'm worried like this. I found Y/N by the electrical sockets inside the booth.

"Y-yeah, I think it's a short circuit. I need to check into the maintenance room so I can tell someone about this." she explained while holding her hands. I just took them and observed them, fortunately, she's really okay.

"Be careful next time, okay?" I said so worriedly. Y/N looked at me then smiled.

"Yeah, thanks, I will." she said and we both walked out of the horror booth. We locked it behind and prepared to leave.

"I'll go on ahead so I can go to the maintenance room, see you in quiz bee, Stump." Y/N said with a smirk and I just chuckled.

"See you there, Y/N." I said.

I really am beginning to think that Elaine forgot about this plan. I just sighed as I completely lock the horror booth and the moment I turned around I saw Elaine there, finally.

"Where were you?" I asked her but she's already smirking at me.

"It's all done babe, don't worry." she said. "I was the one behind that small explosion there so she would have to go to the maintenance room, and I've been waiting for her to go down the stairs and I just pointed out to her that it'll be faster if she takes the elevator to the maintenance room..and guess what, that elevator will accidentally sh--

"Elevator to the maintenance room?!" I suddenly said in shock. "Elaine that thing is unstable!!! That has been closed for years now, how the freak did you ge--

"Don't worry! I just had to talk with someone, isn't this what you want? Besides, it's just for a couple of h--

"That's the point! She'll be trapped there for HOURS! I though you're only planning to lock her up in a room or something, not this something dangerous!!" I said as my mind panic. I just took my bag and began to ran so fast.

"Patrick! Where are you going?!" Elaine asked in anger.

"I'm going to stop her or if I'm too late I'm not going to let her go alone there even if it's programmed to stop for hours, so be it!" I shouted and run downstairs...at the end of the hall, I saw Y/N getting on the elevator. "Hey! Y/N! Get out of there!" I said, but it seems she's not hearing me because of the noise around, I just tried my best to run faster and fortunately I managed to get inside. 

"What are you--

"Come on!" I said but the moment I looked at the door it was closed.

Fuck. 

I kept on pressing the open button, but it's no use since the elevator is already going down.

"Patrick, what's happening?" Y/N asked curiously and I looked at her in worry, before I could even answer her the elevator halted suddenly and the lights went out. Almost, immediately, Y/N hold onto my arm tightly.

"H-hey, it's okay. Maybe there's really something going on in with the power around the college." I explained. It's so dark inside the elevator and I can't really see anything more. "Seems like we're trapped in here fo--

"P-Patrick, p-please..l-light...please." Suddenly, I felt Y/N's became ice cold and her voice is trembling. She's gripping so hard to me.

I panicked too and I pulled out my phone and turned on the flashlight.

"Y/N, c-calm down." I said, Y/N looked so distressed...she began to collapse on the ground and having difficulties in her breathing.

"No...no...no..." she kept on chanting with her eyes shut closed, her arms gripped onto me. "W-we can't be trapped here...Patrick, please." she murmured. She looked at me and she's crying and pleading now.

I'm honestly feeling all the guilt right now, but I'm thankful that I'm here with her because I know what's happening to her...being trapped here triggered her to have a panic attack...
