Imagine #145: Dare Me Not (Part 7)

Imagine #145: Dare Me Not (Part 7)

*Y/N's P.O.V.*

I can already feel the excitement about the incoming college festival. Since we're the College of Performing Arts, our festival is the most flambouyant one compared to all colleges in this universities...it's like students in our college takes this festival all too seriously, but actually it's quite great. Accroding to Meagan, that event is the most anticipated one for the whole year.

Students around the college is already starting to work on their performances and design the whole building. The cheerful vibe is really getting to me now too and I really want to help out. The noise around is getting louder as day pass by...dance music here, speech choir and theater practice there, it was actually ear shaking but it's all good on me.

Lunch just ended and it's time for history again. We're all inside the classroom waiting for our professor that I actually became a fond with. I knew she was on the Big 4's side before, but after the presentation I did, she never really did anything more to me, she's actually kind in all honesty.

"Sorry I'm late, students. We just had an urgent meeting about the upcoming College Festival and ufnfortunately we have a problem. Compared to the past festivals where we have exact 10 booths, this time we're short in one. Only 9 volunteered. We've been asking around and students doesn't want to take the spot...so if any of you here that has an id--" she was still explaining everything, but she was cut off by Patrick that just arrogantly raised his hand. "--I believe that you're volunteering, Mr. Stump?" She asked.

"Yeah, but I'd like to ask for someone's help." He said with that arrogant smirk of his.

He's probably going to use this to boost up his rankings again, and of course, who would be the perfect partners for him instead of the Big 4.

"No problem with that, so who are you teaming up with?" Our professor asked as she wrote down his name on a piece of paper.

"Y/L/N." He murmured and I swear I did not see that coming.

I almost heard everyone in the classroom gasp then looked at him in shock and curiously, but Patrick just remained looking at our professor while smiling.

"Well, Ms. Y/L/N?" Are you up for it?" She asked me politely. I swear I'm still in shock, why would he --- OF COURSE, to distract me from participating to that quizbee and singing contest. Of course if we're busy doing this booth, I wouldn't be able to review and practice.

I just let out a silent laugh and just smiled confidently. "Of course, Ma'am. I don't have a problem with that." I answered and looked Patrick while smiling.

I still won't back down from their challenges.

The classes just ended and Patrick have asked me to get a snack while we talk about this booth we're going to make. I should just be practicing now, but I guess he's already starting to take me away from that supposed activity of mine.

"So, any ideas what booth we'll do?" He asked. We're inside this coffee shop and I'm already drowning myself with this large ice-cold latte of mine.

I looked at Patrick with a staight face, actually annoyed with him now.

"Aren't you the one who volunteered? You must have something on your mind already." I said sarcasticly at him and he just chuckled at me.

"That coffee is making you grumpy." He said and I rolled my eyes at him. No one can ever separate me from my coffee. "I'm just trying to be a gentleman here, Y/N, but if you're so grump already, just hear me out." He said and I was just staring at him. "A horror booth. It's been two years since someone have made a booth about that and I think we both can do it now." Patrick said.

"Wouldn't that give us too much stuff to accomplish? Like it'll be hard for us." I told him and remembered that that would be his intention anyways...make this complicated.

"Oh come, the MVP and the rookie of the college is working together, we'll ace this." He said with a smirk, including me in his arrogance now.

"Okay, fine. So where will we put this booth? We should have a big--

"In your base. You know that old gym." He answered.

"Patrick, there's so much things in there. Broken chairs, tables, boards, we'll clean it all if you want to use that." I said, he's really pushing me to the limits.

"And so? Don't tell me you're too much for cleaning that kind of mess?" He teased and I just wanted to pour this coffee on him, but it's too precious for that.

"You don't know anything about me and cleaning, Stump. You're the one I'm worried about. You look like you'll just end up crying than cleaning that mess." I answered him then Patrick just laughed at me. Suddenly, he playfully pinched my nose while smiling genuinely.

"You're really cute while teasing me." He said and I just back away from his hand.

"Shut up, Stump." I said, pushing to keep on looking at him.

"So, we'll just meet everyday after class. Start cleaning then making props and everything. We still have three weeks so that's enough for us." He said and really, it's obvious he don't want me to prepare for that quizbee and singing contest.

"Fiiiiine." I said like a child that can't do anything more.

Patrick smirked at me, probably starting to think to himself that he's succeeding, but he's not...I'm going to do this booth and still prepare for that quizbee and singing contest to win.

*Patrick's P.O.V.*

The preparation for the College Festival officially starts today...meaning we don't have classes from now on and we're free to prepare for that event. It's just really that big of a celebration and the whole university is looking out for it so preparing for it is serious business that we have to set aside the academics first, sweet, right?

Since it's just the first day for the preparation, everyone is just starting slow. Since Y/N and I aren't starting yet, I just asked Elaine out for lunch since its been a while since we hang out and I honestly miss her too. But it seems she doesn't feel the same.

"Elaine, will you please put that phone of yours down for a while, it's been a while since went out and you're still on your phone." I finally said out loud since we've been sitting inside this restaurant for a while even if we're done eating.

Back then it's always enjoying to be with her out in the mall. We just kept walking around and play in the arcase stalls but now its all gone. She really has changed and honestly I don't like where her attitude is leading her.

"Oh come on, babe. Don't you know me?" She said, just brushing me off. I sighed silently and just sat there. I honeslty would want to be with Y/N now, at least she's enjoying to be with and I'm not just feeling this because Elaine is being like this to me...she's really just different from her.

"Since you don't want to stand up, I guess I should just go, you'll meet up with Sam later, right?" I asked, hoping she would finally feel she's ignoring me here.

"Yep. Bye babe. Just tell me what happened with you snd Y/N, mmkay? Bbye!" She said and I guess I can't do anything more.

I annoyingly walked out of there, not wanting to go back in the university yet and I really want to cool off this head of mine. I'm really disappointed today, I actually want to have fun with Elaine, but she just spoiled it.

I kept on walking around the mall and suddenly I was shocked to see someone familiar inside one of the ice cream store there. I walked slowly to make sure if she really is that and I'm right, it's Y/N...and she's talking with some guy having the same uniform like ours. He's a student in the same university too.

I stopped walking and just looked at them for a while, Y/N seemed so calm and innocent while talking to him. She smiles so sweetly, the kind of smile I always want to see. I really hope she can always talk to me like that...but really since I'm so prideful with her, she does the same too and that sweet smile rarely appears when were together.

Okay, what the fuck, Patrick? Why do I want to receive a sweet smile from some girl I will hurt sooner or later? I'm probably loosing my mind.

{Thanks for reading!! :)}
