Chapter |~12~|

I should probably be editing and reading these before I post them... Oops. I literally found out I mistyped a word in A SMUT SCEne. Fml.

Nico ducked under the CAUTION tape and slid down the hall. Doctor Solace didn't object, instead he merely followed Nico down the hall. He was right; the sweet scent of chloroform was overwhelming.

Nico entered the first room, staring at the small body bag. It was obvious whoever was inside was a child. "That's Isabella Atlas, Theodore's sister," Doctor Solace noted.

Nico pursed his lips, and slipped out of the room. "Do you have security cameras?"

"Of course. But the one in room Thirty-Four B has never worked correctly; that's why it's used for surgery instead of regular stays,"

Nico internally groaned. There was bound to be some incidents at a hospital where there were a dozen people dying everyday.

That's when it hit him.

He wasn't the only one with losses, hell, while families had died. Nico had no doubt now, that he wasn't the only one ignoring his losses and trying to seem tough.

He would never admit it, but he was as sick on the inside as anyone else. He would never admit that he had gotten something that everyone was prone to get; why couldn't he be stronger than someone for once?

Nico hadn't realized he had stopped walking until Doctor Solace bumped into him. He stared blankly at the door to room Thirty-Four B. The smell was so strong that Nico himself was becoming dizzy.

How the hell had they managed to make the chloroform work in such a way? How did they manage to get it to make even passerby lose their grip on consciousness?

Nico decided to stop breathing, for just enough time to investigate. He entered the room, and opened one of the drawers. It was a stupid idea, but it was the only way he could stay in the room for long enough to find out what had happened.

He pulled out one of the plastic gloves and held it up to his mouth. Allowing his breath out of his lungs, Nico suddenly felt much better. Though it worked, Nico told himself never to breathe into a glove again; it was like taping a plastic bag over your head.

Doctor Solace had obviously been smart enough not to enter the room, judging that he was no where to be seen. Nico rummaged through the drawers and accidentally pricked his index finger on a needle. He didn't think that would do much, but he would regret not telling anyone.

Nico was now struggling even more. His breathing was uneven and weak, since he was taking small breaths to preserve as much good air as possible. Eventually, the dark haired boy, tossed the glove away (after taking a large gulp of air), and bolted out of the room.

He ran down the hallway, and stumbled underneath the caution tape. He dusted off his pants casually as a few of the nurses gave him suspicious looks.

Another short chapter, because I'm exhausted. Lmao tho. I might add onto this chapter later, and I'm not deleting this if I do, because I'm so SO tired. I had school pictures today, and I had to walk around the whole school to find out where all of my classes are. Key to exhaustion: school.
