— This will be some Seungjin content, you can skip if you want but it is kinda important to the plot —
— Takes place the day Seungmin and Hyunjin met in person—
— Hyunjin's first day of work—
To say Hyunjin was exhausted after almost 10 hours of working with the trainees, is an understatement. His body ached as if he hasn't worked a day in his life. He was now laying on the floor of the previously filled dance practice room, that is now empty and oddly quiet.
Hyunjin honestly lost track of how long he was laying there, but he ended up dozing off. He woke up to the sound of footsteps approaching him, and the lights blinding him.
Why do they make the lights in here so bright ? Geez...
He rubs his eyes and they start to focus on an outline of a person standing over him. He hears that said person cough, and he can now see who was standing over him..
"Hey." The person spoke quietly, not wanting to startle the dance trainer as he had just woke up.
"Seungmin? What's up?" Hyunjin sits up and Seungmin offers his hand to help him, which the older gladly takes.
"I uh, How long have you been in here?" Seungmin questions, deciding to not let the taller know about why he happened to coincidentally see Hyunjin in the dance room, not like he was looking for him..
"Not that long, I fell asleep after all the trainees left." Hyunjin sighs and reaches his arms up to stretch, which makes his simple white tee he is wearing, rise up just a bit which caught Seungmin's eye immediately. He could see the top of Hyunjin's boxers and his smooth skin.
At this sight, Seungmin starts to blush madly and his ears turn a light shade of pink. He slowly raises his eyes from the distraction, to meet the older's eyes.
"Um- Hyunjin.."
Hyunjin stops stretching and looks directly at the younger.
"Yeah?"
"Uh- It's almost 6pm, shouldn't you be leaving?"
Hyunjin's eyes widen in realization. "6pm?? Are you kidding?" As if he really didn't believe what Seungmin just told him, Hyunjin pulls his phone out of his pocket just to see the time read 5:54pm.
"Shit... I missed my bus." Hyunjin sighs annoyed with himself for falling asleep, and goes to lay back down on the floor.
Seungmin puts his hand on Hyunjin's arm, stopping the taller before he could lay back down.
"Do you need a ride home?"
Hyunjin side eyes Seungmin, not believing the boy in front of him can drive.
"You drive?"
Seungmin smiles hearing that because he expected that reply from the dance trainer.
"No, but my friend does. He gets done at 6:30 so we can go wait in his studio and he can give you a ride when he's done. Here let me call him really quick."
Hyunjin nods at the puppy like boy in front of him.
Seungmin reaches into his pocket to pull out his phone and bring up the contact: Chan Hyung
"Hello?"
"Hey Chan, you get done at 6:30 right?"
"No, it's 7 today. Why what's up?"
"Can you give me and my friend a ride home when you're done? He missed his bus and I don't feel like walking today."
"You're willing to wait a hour?"
Seungmin turns to look over at Hyunjin who is taking a sip from his water bottle, and now turns to look over at the younger and gives him a small smile, which is matched by Seungmin.
"Yeah, that's fine."
"Alright, no problem. Meet me in the lobby at 7."
"Thanks Chan"
Seungmin hangs up and goes to put his bag that he was carrying with him against the back wall, along with his phone.
"They say yes?" Hyunjin walks over to the younger, curious as to who exactly the younger boy called.
"Yeah, they said it's no problem. Though, he doesn't get off till 7. I was thinking we could stay in here and you could help me practice some of my choreography I need to learn until he's done?" Seungmin avoids eye contact with the older, nervous that Hyunjin is too tired to help him.
"Oh? Do you have a video of it?" Hyunjin asks, implying he's willing to help if he can see the choreography first.
"Yes, Here" Seungmin goes to get his phone from next to his bag, and pulls up the video of his choreography he needs to learn and shows the dance trainer in hope he has enough energy.
Seungmin and Hyunjin spent the past hour practicing the choreography the trainee needs to learn. Which the dance trainer was a major help in getting some moves down, and Seungmin is extremely appreciative of the time and energy spent. They also spent that time getting to know each other. Every time Seungmin got a move right, or the song had to start over, they agreed to ask each other a question. It was almost like a celebratory reward and a prime motivation because the trainee's main focus has always been singing, which leads to his lack of experience with dance. (A/N - Seungmin is actually an amazing dancer (rl) and this is in no way representing Seungmin's actual skills in real life.) So, getting to know the handsome trainer while learning his somewhat challenging choreography, then leads to them joking around and ending the hour with random dance moves and giggles filling the room. Seungmin was genuinely happy.
..
The time is now 7:05pm, and the trainer and trainee are sitting in the lobby of JDP waiting for Chan to be done. Seungmin is scrolling on his phone, switching between Instagram and Twitter. Honestly, Seungmin isn't super into social media. He only has it cause he has to have it. For one, he is a trainee and secondly, because of the generation he's in. He wishes so badly that the people his age weren't so engrossed into their phones all the time, because they completely miss the world passing them by.
Frustrated, Seungmin puts his phone in his pocket before checking the time again. 7:08pm.
Where is Chan?
Seungmin is sitting on the black couch in the lobby, with Hyunjin sat right next to him. The younger didn't notice that the boy next to him is drifting in and out of sleep until suddenly he felt a heavy feeling on his right shoulder. Surprised at the feeling, he looks over just to see a head of black hair leaning on him, while lightly snoring.
He's still slightly in shock, not believing Hyunjin is really asleep on him right now.
Seungmin couldn't tell whether he liked the feeling or not. In reality, he was a bit uncomfortable because this was all new to Seungmin. He's never had a boyfriend, or any guy flirt with him for that matter. He especially couldn't believe skinship was happening between the two right now like this. He has never been the one to initiate physical affection, even with family. Yet there was also an undeniable feeling in his stomach when he felt the older boy's weight put on his shoulder.
He felt the older move slightly and moved his hand to rest on Seungmin's arm. The trainee stiffened up at the feeling, but slowly looked down again to see that the other boy is still sound asleep. That's when Seungmin has the chance to really appreciate the sleeping beauty. The boy really was beautiful, there was no other way to describe it. He thought Hyunjin has a rare eye shape, making him just that more interesting to the younger. His nose was cute and small, which fit his face shape extremely well. Then, his lips... Seungmin eyed Hyunjin's lips, realizing how big they are compared to his own.
They look really soft...
Quickly realizing what he's thinking, Seungmin shook his head to rid the thought out of his mind.
"Hey" Chan says as he approaches the two boys, but slows down upon realizing there is a sleeping boy leaning on Seungmin. "Uhhh...?"
Seungmin's eyes shoot up to see Chan, and he starts waving his hand, "No No, it's not what it looks like. He just fell asleep."
"Sure.. Well can you wake him up if he's the one I'm driving. I want to go home." Chan says, looking as if he's only gotten 5 hours of sleep in total the past week.
"Yeah, hey, are you okay? Are you sleeping well?" Seungmin asks as he starts to move and try to wake Hyunjin up.
"Not really, I'm gonna try to sleep early tonight so let's get a move on. I'll pull the car around just meet me once you woke him up." Chan goes to walk out of the building to make his way to the parking garage.
Seungmin hums and looks down at the sleeping boy again.
He looks so peaceful.
Seungmin now feels bad to wake the older, but he has to or neither of them will have a ride home. Sighing, he nudged his shoulder to try and wake Hyunjin.
"Hyunjin? We have to go." He doesn't budge. Seungmin moves his shoulder a bit harder this time.
Geez.. He's a heavy sleeper
Seungmin sees Hyunjin's mouth slightly curl up, and he realizes the boy isn't asleep, at this point he's faking it. He debates what he should do.. Does he do what his body is telling him? ..
Fuck it.
He now puts his hand against Hyunjin's cheek and rubs small circles with his thumb on the older's cheek bone and whispers in the "sleeping" boy's ear, "I know you're awake, we have to go so get up or I'm leaving you here." Real romantic.
At that, Hyunjin breaks into a smile and couldn't hold in his laugh anymore. He lifts his head up slowly, with Seungmin's hand still on his cheek.
"Caught" Seungmin smiles at the older, and goes to retract his hand but is stopped when the older grabs his hand and keeps it in the same position.
"Don't. I like this." Hyunjin smiles warmly at the younger, and Seungmin can't help but break out into an even wider smile. He doesn't want to admit it, but he likes it as well. The feeling of Hyunjin wanting physical contact with him, as well as the way the older boy looked at him. He has such a warm and genuine look in his eyes that Seungmin can't help but look away being too overwhelmed with the butterflies in his stomach. He retracts his hand and stands up, grabbing his bag that was laying beside him.
"Uh- I- We have to go. Chan is waiting." He says before speed walking out of the lobby.
Hyunjin shakes his head and laughs at the affect he has on the puppy like boy.
He's so cute.
—
It was now just Seungmin and Chan in the car. Chan insisted on dropping Hyunjin off first even though he lived farther, he wanted time to figure out what exactly was going on in the lobby when he walked in. He also wanted to know how Seungmin feels towards the dance trainer. Chan could tell the trainee was dealing with some conflict in his mind.
Chan was driving with only his right hand on the wheel, his left arm is against the window, bent and his hand picking at his lips.
"So what exactly did I walk in on in the lobby?" Chan asks, quickly looking over to Seungmin in enough time to see his eyes widen and his hands start rubbing his thighs.
"I- He fell asleep on my shoulder. Nothing more to it." Seungmin says while looking out the window. It was already dark out so the stars could slightly be seen, so Seungmin keeps his attention to the stars and the lights bouncing off the buildings.
"I haven't seen you this flustered, well, ever." Chan admits , stealing another look to the younger boy.
"Chan, stop." Seungmin says, not liking the feeling that's growing in his stomach. What is it? Guilt? Anger? Anxiety?
"Why? You like him don't you?"
"No! I don't like him. I just met him today."
Chan looks over to Seungmin one last time before completely focusing on the road.
"Hey, it's okay if you do. I mean, he knows you a bit more than you know him due to Jeongin being an idiot."
Chan shakes his head and Seungmin does the same.
"He really is an idiot..." Seungmin adds quietly.
"Just give that guy a chance, yeah? He seems nice enough." Chan shrugs and looks left out the window quickly before focusing back on the road.
Seungmin gives Chan's words a thought, and he wishes he could take his friend's advice, but instead he quickly comes to the conclusion..
I can't. I can't like him. He wouldn't allow it.
