Enchanting me from afar

If I leave you be then you drift away
On the changing ocean tides

I am soon swallowed up to nothing

If I try to run after you with all my might
You bog down my every step

If I try to grasp you tightly in my hands
You slip through the cracks
If I hold you too close then you scrape and scratch
How can I hold you that you don't escape me?

Should I keep you in a capped bottle?
Take you away from here?
I fear you would not gleam so prettily in the dark
Trapped, dull and still in the shadows

How then shall I keep my shiny love
