Chapter 8
MottlePaw breathed in. She wasn't supposed to be here, wherever here was. Not too far away from her were two other molly's, a pale ginger one, and a gray one. The gray one already noticed her and beckoned her over.
MottlePaw felt a sense of wisdom from the gray molly, the younger, ginger one was odd too, but MottlePaw felt as though she had good intentions, despite being on fire. "Hello, might I ask as to why I am here?" MottlePaw whispered. It was so quiet, she didn't want to disturb anything.
The gray molly nodded and led the two cats. MottlePaw noticed how annoyed the younger cat was, yet also excited. "Excuse me, what is going on?" MottlePaw asked her. The younger cat practically beamed.
"Oh! From what I noticed, we're going to see my brother and best friend and some others! It's gonna be great! It's been so long since I've seen my brother, not since he-" The other cat trailed off. "Anyways, my name is Phoenix! What's yours?" The molly asked.
Something in the name rung a few bells in MottlePaw's mind, yet she didn't question it at first. She had met many Phoenix's before. "My name is none of your concern as of right now. Just call me Mottle." MottlePaw smiled.
Phoenix nodded and happily trailed alongside MottlePaw and the gray cat. It was weird being around two other cats MottlePaw didn't know, yet 'tis the way of life sometimes. She was used to it too, after being alive for a couple thousand years.
It wasn't long before MottlePaw saw the group Phoenix was referring too. She was initially confused when she thought she saw Patchy and Ghostly yet didn't question it further. It already felt like a weird fever dream, so it was easy enough to accept.

Patches was rather caught up on the story of the gods, yet so many things stood out. They were reminded of past times they all had, their rivalries, even small arguments.
It fascinated him, enough to the point where he zoned out completely, just listening to the tales that he himself felt as though he remembered.
After a moment or two of Winter telling the tales and having ended, Patches heard something. he turned around only to be faced with familiarity. He noticed Ghostly saw them too, and Patches found it almost amusing as Ghostly immediately pulled Phoenix away from MottlePaw.
"So, what's going on?" Patches asked. He himself was a bit uncomfortable around MottlePaw, who seemed to be rather confused, yet accepting.
The white and black tom spoke- who Patches had learned was named Silkie. "We've come to reunite you. Give you back your powers as gods, and to bring your sister back to life. Permanently." Silkie answered.
Patches nodded, but Ghostly seemed on edge. "Why bring Phoenix here? Why bring MottlePaw here?" He demanded. Patches stepped back at the sudden outburst yet agreed with his questioning some.
"Phoenix is one half of Asyra. Her spirit, personality, and some of her appearance. Gold was the other half, however a different cat entirely. We already have everything we need for Asyra to be brought back. As for MottlePaw, we've found her... unique." The new gray molly answered.
Patches assumed this must've been the goddess of space, Alulah, or Silly String. "Unique? How?" Patches asked.
Alulah hummed for a second. "Well, she has a different outlook on attraction. Plus, she's already been granted immortality. We were deciding on making her the goddess of love, and heartache. Or, well, seeing if the universe would accept her as that." Alulah answered.
"What about Phoenix? Will she be different? Will she remember me?" Ghostly asked. He almost sounded like he'd be lost without her. It touched Patches.
Alulah shook her head. "No, she'll be fine. She behave a bit bolder, and might have other memories too, but she will still be the part of Asyra you've grown to know in recent times." Winter spoke up from behind the them. Silkie nodded.
"So we do this then? We take our places as the gods once more?" Patches asked. Alulah nodded, and looked at Phoenix, who was confused. "What about the dragon god? I'm just now realizing he's not here." Ghostly commented.
Patches nodded in agreement. He wasn't here at all. "Do not worry about him, as he was tasked the important job of finding a vampire, and a werewolf. Now, are you ready?" Silkie asked, looking towards them all.
With a deep breath, Patches nodded, letting the gods begin their performance.
