"Her eyes stole my heart,
her smile gave me life,
her presence made me high,
her touch left me breathless."

The days after Sage White's awakening wasn't anything like when her mother woke. There wasn't any prince to take her away to a knew palace (or princess in her case), there wasn't any big party (she didn't count the after party for King Ben's coronation), she just simply awoke.
Into more trouble.
We can start with her first problem - King Florian.
Sage White's father was enraged that Chad Charming had not been the one to awaken Sage. He was seething at the mere thought that a girl, a person of the same sex as herself, woke Sage. The face that is was the Evie Queen's daughter made him loose his cool in front of everyone. He demanded that Sage could not return to her palace home until she got those "ideas" out of her head, and was fix.
Snow White, being the mediator she was, calmed him down enough to where Sage could return home. But King Florian didn't want any part of her life from this point on. He had officially disowned her. Which didn't really bother Sage too much, he wasn't there for most of her life anyways.
If you couldn't tell, King Florian was an old fashion kinda guy.
Now the second problem wasn't too big of a problem. It was the paparazzi. Last time the United States of Auradon heard from Sage White, she had fallen into Sleeping Death. But there she was, not even six hours later, joining her best friend at his after party.
The group of journalists hounded her about what had happen?, who awoken her?, and what did she see while under the curse?.
Needless to say, Sage hated cameras now.
Thus, was her last problem.
Evie.
Sage hasn't seen the bluenette since she woke up. Didn't even talk to her when Sage did wake up, just stared before walking out of the room. Sage couldn't go after her, because her friends and family were instantly at her side.
Whenever Sage tried to seek out Evie, she couldn't find her, and when she did find her Evie ran off.
It hurt.
Sage didn't bother to ask Mal where Evie was at when Mal gave the lame excuse that She was out and about. Sage could respect Mal for sticking with her friend though.
But, with those problems and thought clouding her brain, it lead Sage to where she was at now.
The moonlight shone on her and illuminated the gardens around her. She sat on a stone bench, just watching the stars, lost in thought. Not that she knew where or what any of the stars were, but it was nice to just look up at the sky and get lost in thought.
Sage didn't really care for singing, so she mostly kept to playing her instrument. But now, being alone without anything to help her get things off her mind, she opened her mouth and sung.
♫ Am I allowed, to look at her like that? Could it be wrong, when she's just so nice to look at? And she smells like lemongrass and sleep. She tastes like apple juice and peach. Oh, you would find her in a Polaroid picture. And she means everything to me. ♫
She stopped singing dropping her head and saying in a louder voice, "Are you going to run away if I look at you, or are we actually going to talk?"
The bushes rustled gently before the girl she's been trying to talk to sat next to her. Sage couldn't help and notice that Evie kept some space in between them. She couldn't help but notice the way the moonlight danced over her frame, either, making her almost glow like the gods and goddess on Mt. Olympus.
"Sorry, about that," Evie murmured, looking up at the sky. "I. . ."
"You don't have to explain," Sage said softy, seeing Evie look for words. "But we do have to talk about that. . .curse ordeal."
"Yes, we do." Evie sighed, looking at Sage and continuing. "I want you to go first though, if that's alright?"
"Yeah, yeah, sure," Sage nodded, clearing her throat. "I, uh, I like you Evie. A lot. Not because of the fact that you broke the curse, I've had a crush on you for a while, I just didn't know when or what to say. . ." Seeing the look on Evie's face, she quickly continued. "But, I don't want to rush you into anything. You might not even know what it's like to like someone like that. Whatever we become after this will be totally up to you. I'm letting you decide."
Evie nodded slowly.
"I-I think I like you too. But I'm not sure. I might just like you as a friend, and to me that seems more possible. My mother always told me that liking a girl like this would send me into greater pain then hell. . .I want to figure stuff out, and put some more roots down in Auradon before I go even deeper into relationships beyond friendships. . .I want, no, need to go slow."
"If you're willing to let me stay by your side, we can go as slow as you want," Sage responded earnestly.
"And you won't mind?"
"Not one bit."
"Thank you!" Evie gave Sage a hug, squeezing her tightly before letting go. "You really are a great friend, Ben's lucky to have known you for so long."
"I try," Sage said modestly, watching as Evie looked back at the stars. The space between them cut down to barely nothing by now.
"You don't mind me staying out here with you, do you?" Evie asked.
"Be my guest."
While the two sat on that stone bench in silence, watching the stars twinkle and shine, Sage couldn't help but mumble sing one more verse.
♫And I'll be okay, admiring from afar. 'Cause even when she's next to me, we could not be more far apart. And she tastes like birthday cake, and story time and fall. But to her, I taste of nothing at all. Oh, you would find her in a Polaroid picture. And she means everything to me. ♫
It hurt. But as long as Evie was by her side, Sage could live with the pain.
