Another day, another class. The descendants of royal blood lines were stuck in classes to teach them about things that probably don't matter after their high school career.
As of right now, Sage was in her chemistry class trying a test. A small red apple was in her grasp, already half eaten, while she glanced over the test questions.
"Why would I ever need to remember the atomic weight of Iodine? I'm not going to do anything science-y," Sage muttered to herself, making Doug next to her snort in amusement.
"I'm pretty sure we all knew that, Sage," Doug whispered back.
"What's that suppose to mean?!"
Their teacher, who was walking around the room, cleared his throat loudly and the two students ducked their heads back down to their papers. Evie, who was on the other side of Doug, was tossing around everything she had in her red bag in a panic.
"Looking for something?" Mr Delay asked smugly. Evie snapped her purse shut and the teacher pulled out a small golden mirror, much to the dismay of Evie. "Thank you, Chad. It's gratifying to see someone still respects the honor code."
Chad shot Evie his preppy look and Evie made a face. Sage, on the other side of Doug, was fuming.
"It will be my recommendation that you are expelled." The teacher said.
"Mr Delay, I--"
"But that isn't fair!" Doug exclaimed. "Obviously she wasn't cheating since she didn't have that. . .whatever it is."
"It's called a magic mir--"
"You're not helping. Stop," Doug begged Evie before turning back to Mr Delay. "Maybe she needed another pencil."
"Actually, I was--"
"Really, don't help."
"I can help," Sage smiled brightly at Evie and Doug before turning her gaze to Mr Delay, her bright smile dimming to a smug one. "Mr Delay, I can't help but think, isn't it against the school code to go through a students' bag without their consent?"
"Well, I mean--"
"Unless, though, you were doing a drug search on her. But, you would have to have the resource officer here, wouldn't you?" Sage tutted. "Mr Delay, I'm pretty sure you can get put off for this action, if a student or two let it slip to Fairy Godmother. . ."
"You wouldn't do that, would you?" Mr Delay asked slowly.
"Don't know. I'm still thinking about it."
Mr Delay thought for a moment before turning back to Evie. "If you can pass this test, I'll return your property and let the matter drop."
"You got this, Evie," Sage said kindly to the bluenette, sending her wink before finishing her apple off.
"Thank you," Evie mouthed to Sage before Doug tapped her shoulder and pointed towards the test.

Sage was in the same room she usually is during her free period, tapping her foot to a beat and warming up her flute. Her eyes were focused on the music sheet in front of her as she played a particularly hard combo.
The daughter of Snow White was so busy trying to correct the notes, that she didn't hear the daughter of the Evie Queen prance her way into the room.
Mindful of the instrument, Evie put her arms around Sage's shoulders and presented her chemistry test. At the top was a bright red B+.
"Look what I did!" Evie sung happily. Sage let out a squeal, placing her instrument down gently before turning to Evie.
"See! I told you! You totally owned that test!" Sage cheered, throwing her arms around Evie and pulling her into a hug. Evie laughed, wrapping her arms around Sage as well.
"Yeah, you did tell me," Evie admitted. "Thank you, for that?"
"What? Telling you so? Because I can do that all the time." Sage pulled back from the hug but kept her arms around Evie's waist. Evie's hands didn't stray from Sage's neck either.
"No! For believing in me," Evie corrected with a small smile. "Not everyone can see the brains behind this beauty."
"I see everything, the brains and the beauty," Sage blurted out, face turning red when she realized what she said. "U-Uh, I mean, Oh lord-"
"You're cute when you get nervous," Evie giggled, making Sage's face turn even redder. Her blue gaze fell to the sheet music on the music stand before she commented, "Is that a new song?"
"Yes!" Sage exclaimed suddenly, coughing slightly at the sudden loudness before repeating, "Yeah, Doug gave me this before I came in. Another full song for the flute."
"Speaking of flutes," Evie pouted. "The band director didn't really want to give me a retail flute. He really didn't want to talk to me anyways. . ."
"That's okay," Sage waved it off, walking over to her blue bag and digging around. "It gives me an even better reason to give you. . .this!"
Turning around, Sage presented Evie a solid black case with two silver buckles on the side. A dark blue bow sat on top of the case and Evie gently took the case.
"You didn't. . ." Evie breathed out, slowly opening the case. She flipped the lid over, and let out an excited gasp. "You did!!"
"I did," Sage laughed, watching as Evie carefully took out the pieces of her new flute. "It's new, if you can't tell from the shininess. But, I thought you would like your own flute to play with."
"Why are you so nice to us? To me?" Evie asked, looking up from her gift. "We're the kids of your guys greatest enemies!"
"Their actions aren't yours," Sage replied simply. "Besides, not to be rude or anything, but half of the kingdom don't really want you guys here. I knew you all would need all the love and support you could get, so I decided to step up."
"Love and support, huh?" Evie chuckled dryly. "Don't get that often."
"Which is horrible, but we can't change the past. Only make way for the future." Sage glanced out the window before smiling at Evie. "Speaking of the future, you ready to start practice? Lets start with putting the flute together. . ."
For the next hour or so, Sage taught Evie how to put the flute together, how to hold it, a basic run down of music notes and such, and how to take care of the flute to keep it sparkling.
It wasn't until there was a polite knock on the classroom door that the two of them stopped and looked back. Ben was standing in the door way (thank god, Sage would have died if it was anyone else) with a timid smile on his face.
"U-Uh, hey," He started. "Are you busy, Sage? I gotta talk to you."
"Will it take long?" Sage asked curiously.
"It. . .might."
"Well," Sage dragged the word out, looking at Evie. The bluenette smiled gently and started to take her flute apart and put it in her new case.
"No, it's fine. I was going to go show Doug my results on my test, anyways. You two have fun," Evie headed towards the door, before pausing and giving Sage a quick kiss on the cheek. "Thanks, again,"
While Sage stared after Evie with a dumbfound look on her face, holding her cheek, Ben held the door open for Evie before looking at his best friend.
"You are so whipped," Ben started laughing, seeing the expression on her face.
"Shut up," She mumbled, fingers lightly brushing her cheek before turning to Ben. "What's up?"
"So," Ben started as he messed with his beast ring. A nervous habit he does. "I kinda asked Mal out on a date and I don't know what to do or where to go!"
"That's it?" Sage asked blankly.
"What do you mean, That's it? !" He said in a high pitched tone, clearly trying to mimic her. "It s big problem! Because I have to pick her up in roughly an hour!"
Sage held up two fingers. "One, I don't sound like that. That was horrendous. Two, just take her on a picnic! Take her to the little pond that leaks off of the Enchanted Lake. It's beautiful down there, and I'm pretty sure she hasn't tried half the foods here!"
"That's. . .brilliant!" Ben picked Sage up and twirled her around excitedly. "This is why you should be my royal adviser!"
"I'm pretty sure your royal adviser doesn't plan dates for you," Sage laughed, holding onto Ben's arms as he placed her down safely. "But, I can stick to being your best friend."
"For now!" Ben declared. "You shall be my royal adviser one day! And even if you don't, I'll listen to you above anyone!"
"Even your parents?"
". . .Maybe not everyone."
The two of the fell into a fit of laughter before Sage straighten herself out. "Alright, you go get changed, I'll get started on the foods. Meet me in the kitchen when you're done, okay?"
"Roger that, Miss White!"
🍎
"Stop fidgeting!"
"I can't! I'm nervous."
"Okay, well, don't mess with your outfit by being nervous! Just twirl your little ring."
"I'll have you know, my ring is very manly."
"It's a ring. How manly can it get?"
Ben shook his head with a smile, while Sage knocked on the door the two of them have became familiar with. Under both arms of Ben's were bike helmets, so she really didn't have a choice.
Mal opened the door and the two royals had their jaws drop. Mal was wearing a dress with her signature pink and green colors with a black leather jacket over it. Makeup barely covered her face, but it was notable since she never wore any around.
Why do the bad ones look so good?
"For the first time, I understand the difference between pretty and beautiful." Ben stated after a heavy pause of silence.
"You look amazing, Mal," Sage murmured in agreement. When her green eyes looked over to her in confusion, she quickly added, "Not joining you guys! Just had to help him out with the date." She rolled her eyes playfully. "Can't trust these boys to do anything."
"Tell me about it," Mal joked back with a small smile.
"Thanks, guys," Ben scoffed before holding a helmet out. "I hope you like bikes."
Mal smiled nervously as she grabbed the helmet and the two of them started to walk down the hallway.
"Be safe! Have fun!" Sage called after them teasingly. She let out a mock gasp of horror as Ben quickly flipped her off behind his back. "Benjamin!"
His laugh echoed in the hallway, even when the two lovebirds were out of sight. With a sigh, Sage turned back to Evie with a smile. "Hey."
"Hey."
The two of them stared at each other, minds far away, before Sage cleared her throat and spoke.
"S-So, uh, while our best friends are out on a date, I was wondering if you would like to join me at the coffee shop? It's just off campus a bit, but it's a really good place!"
"Like a date?" Evie asked.
"I-I guess? It can just be a hang out between friends! O-Or a date. . ." Sage mumbled the last part. Hoping Evie didn't hear that last part, Sage rushed out, "So? Wanna go?"
"Sure," Evie chirped with a grin. "I'd be honored to hang out with you, Sage."
