"Do you think they actually paid for those?" Audrey asked with her button nose scrunched up. Sage followed her gaze towards the group of girls with their hairs done nicely. Jay was flirting with them, leaning up against the railing.
"Probably, I saw Lonnie paying Mal," Sage shrugged, glancing at her hair. "I thought about it, but I think I'm good."
"She did it to Jane's hair, too, and Fairy Godemother's not happy about it." Audrey gossiped.
"What's the harm?" Ben asked in confusion.
"It's gateway magic!" Audrey exclaimed. "Sure, it starts with the hair. Next thing you know, it's the lips and the legs, and the clothes and then everybody looks good and then. . .Where will I be?"
"You know," Sage started dryly. "There are a lot more important things in the world besides beauty."
"Not to me!" Audrey humped.
"Listen, Audrey--" Ben stopped as Audrey interupted.
"I will see you at the game after my dress-fitting for the coronation, okay?" Audrey smiled at Ben.
"Okay."
"Bye, Bennyboo." She gave him an air kiss, turning her gaze to Sage. "Sage."
"Audrey," Sage rose an eyebrow, watching the daughter of Sleeping Beauty walk away. "Why did you end up dating her?"
"Because. . ." Ben trailed off slowly.
"Exactly." Sage sighed, turning towards been with a pointed look. "Break it off before she breaks you, okay?"
"Whenever I feel ready, I will," Ben promised.
"Good," She nodded. "Now, I'm going to get ready for the game. I'll meet you at the gardens, same thing as last time."w
"You do always know how to make me feel better about the games," Ben chuckled, shaking his head.
"Of course I do! I'm you're BGF, no one can top me." Sage laughed, Ben joining her as they held up their pinkies and crossed them together. "See ya around, loser."
"See ya around, nerd."
With one last squeeze, they let go of each others' pinkies and Sage started to walk away with a skip in her step.

Sage never felt nervous for a performance. She loved to perform, just like it was said earlier. But, while her pep-talk with Ben was to make sure he was hyped for the game and clear minded, that wasn't the same for Sage.
Especially when she could tell that the blue eyes of a pretty girl was watching her. Much to her disappointment though, it wasn't the same way that Sage stared at Evie when the bluenette wasn't looking.
"And now, for our half-time entertainment, The Auradon Knight's Cheer Squad!" The announcer did his job, speak clearly into the mic before their routine song played through the air.
The cheer squad easily went through their dance, keeping in time with the music and each other. There pom poms were thrown to the side whilst the three flyers got ready for their prep up.
Sage's breath was taken away at the sight of the crowd, but it didn't bother her. She still did her dance moves while keeping her knees locked before it was time for her to be launched. Her bases prepped her like normal and she easily sliced through the air, rolling around before doing a flip.
But, instead of being caught at normal height for a flyer, someone slipped and Sage let out a startled gasp. Her bases caught her just before her body hit the ground, thankfully, while her rear guard barely had time to catch Sage's head.
The show must go on, and that's exactly what the cheer squad did until they stuck their finishing pose. When the audience clapped and cheered for the performance, Sage's read guard came running up to her as they walked off field.
"Sage! Oh my god, are you okay?! I don't know what happened, I-I just didn't hit my mark -- I'm so sorry!"
"Hey, it's okay," Sage said warmly, smiling at her. "It happens sometimes, that's why doing stunts like that are frowned upon. But we did good, don't you think?"
"Yeah. . .We really did," The girl nodded towards Sage before a mop of blue blocked her vision.
"Are you okay?!" Evie asked nervously, checking over Sage as she spouted out question after question. "I saw you almost hit the ground! Did your friends not know how to catch you?! Why would you willingly--"
"Evie," Sage laughed, taking a hold of Evie's hands and holding them close. Her cheeks bloomed red at the sudden action, but Sage didn't mention it. "Calm down, I'm fine! There was a little mess up, but it happens sometimes. I'm in one piece, see?"
"Yeah, I see," Evie murmured, seemingly calming down. "But. . .Your guys performance was great! Amazing! I don't know if any other cheer performance will live that down!"
"Thank you!" Sage smiled. "Really, it means a lot to hear that from you."
"I'm just speaking the truth," Evie stated, raising her chin. The two girls fell into a giggling fit before Sage glanced at the timer on the scoreboard.
"I better head back to the girls," Sage sighed, looking back at Evie. "Are you watching the rest of the game?"
"Well, not so much the game, more like you and your cute fluffy things," Evie pointed towards Sage's pom poms. Hoping that Evie couldn't tell her face was blushing, badly, Sage laughed.
"Pom poms, but I would enjoy a fan in the stands."
"Then to the stands I shall go," Evie paused, as if she was going to say something else, before she sent Sage one last smile and walked up the bleachers. Sage stared after her.
You should have totally kissed her cheek.
"Sage!"
"Coming!" Sage called back, not taking her eyes off Evie as she walked back over to her squad. Evie caught her eye and sent her a wink.

"This is a nail-biter, folks!" The announcer called out. "There's forty-seven seconds left on the clock. We're all tied up. The Sherwood Falcons, two. The Fighting Knights, two. What a game between Auradon's fiercest rivals."
"Go, go, go, you knights! Fight, fight, fight, you knights! Win, win, win, you knights! Go, fight win!" The cheer squad hollered over the crowd, doing their cheer before dancing with the band.
"The teams get into their huddles and take up positions along the kill zone. The Dragoneers have been laying down a withering hail of fire. And now a switch out had been made by the coach! He's bringing that hothead Jay in from the Isle of the Lost and that little guy Carlos can barely hold a shield."
"You got this Carlos!! Go all out!!" Sage cheered.
"When they break from their huddles, this is gonna be a big moment here. And the tipoff is ready."
With a whistle blow that pierces the air the teams go at each other.
"Long pass goes to Jay. Jay dishes off to Prince Ben. Nice little block by Carlos. He does a little dancing jig in his opponent's face. And now Jay gets the ball back. Here comes Jay! Jay, hurdling maneuver at mid-field."
"I'm open!" Ben's voice was easy to hear over the roar of the crowd before the announcer overpowers him.
"Jay makes a nice pass to Prince Ben through the kill zone. Big block by Chad! Prince Ben moves over wide, gives it back to Jay. He's in the clear! Shot!"
Auradon's side of the field let out a groan of displeasure as the goalkeeper for the Falcons' saves the game for them.
"Oh, what a save by Philip, The Falcons; goal keeper!" It's announced. "Twenty-three seconds left. You could cut the tension with a sword."
"Come on boys, you got this!!" The cheer squad shouted all at once, hoping to get their message to their boys.
"The long ball is played into Jay. Jay, great jump, great leap. And great move by Jay. Big block from Chad. Jay dishes off to Prince Ben. And then Carlos with a big block, goes down. Jay through the kill zone, picks up Carlos. Oh, he's being hammered by dragon fire. Still, going on. Jay's hurdling maneuver at mid-field. He's in the clear. The ball goes back to Jay. He passes to Prince Ben. He scores!!"
The whole crowd goes wild, the cheerleaders huddling together in celebration.
"We did it! We did it!"
"They did it!"
"Prince Ben has won it! What an unselfish play by Jay! What a team! Incredible! And it's the new guys, Jay and Carlos, who set the prince for the win here. What a victory! An absolutely wonderful end to one of the best games ever. Here they come, folks. The winners of the first tourn--"
The announcer was actually cut off by Ben, who took the mic and started to talk loudly.
"Excuse me. Excuse me. Can I have your attention, please?" Ben asked as he walked in front of the crowd. He looked around before stepping up onto the machine that shot spears into the kill zone. Sage was quick to stand to his right, looking up at him in confusion.
"Ben, what are you doing?" She asked.
"There's something I'd like to say." Ben announced. The young prince looked around, glancing at Sage before looking back up at the crowd. "Give me an 'M'!"
"M!" The crowd responded, making an M with their arms. Sage followed slowly in suit.
"Give me an 'A'!"
"A!" Another pose.
"Give me an 'L'!"
"L!"
"What's that spell?"
"Mal!"
"Come on, I can't hear you!"
"Mal!"
"I love you, Mal! Did I mention that?" Ben asked, grasping the microphone. The crowd cheered at the confession, while Audrey made her way off the field in a hurry.
"Ben!" Sage hissed, tugging at his pants gently. "What are you doing?!"
Ben looked down at his best friend, pulled the microphone away from his mouth, and crouched down. "Sage, I'm in love! I've decided to let the whole world know!"
Sage's eyes flashed over to Mal, who stood next to Evie and looked absolutely embarrassed. Something happened, but what?
"You could've told me what you were going to do first," Sage said slowly, looking back up at Ben.
"I'm sorry, Sage, but I really didn't know I had to do this until now!" Ben exclaimed, jumping up to stand and pointing at the band. "Give me a beat! Whoo!"
"Uno, dos, tres, quatro!" Doug counted off and the band started to play an upbeat tune. The whole crowd seem to jump into a dance and so did Ben.
♫Did I mention that I'm in love with you? And did I mention there's nothing I can do? And did I happen to say I dream of you every day!♫
Ben hopped down from the red and yellow platform, landing next to Sage. The girl let out a surprised laugh as Ben started to twirl Sage around. He let go last second, making Sage spin into Carlos. The VK thankfully caught her, and started to dance with her. Not knowing what else to do, Sage followed his lead.
♫Well, let me shout it out loud! If that's okay, hey, hey.♫
"HEY!" The crowd shouted.
♫If that's okay.♫
"HEY!"
♫I met this girl that rocked my world like it's never been rocked, Now I'm living just for her and I won't ever stop! I never thought that it could happen to a guy like me. But now look at what you've done, you got me down on my knees!♫
Sage let out another startled laugh as the guys around her dropped to the ground, doing their own thing.
♫Because my love for you is ridiculous! I never knew-♫
♫Who knew?♫
♫That is could be like this! My love for you is ridiculous!♫
♫Ridiculous!♫
♫My love is r-i-d-i-c-u-l-o-u-s!♫
"R-i-d-i-c-u-l-o-u-s!"
"It's-"
"Ridiculous!"
"Just-"
"Ridiculous!"
♫And I would give my kingdom for just one kiss! Well, did I mention I'm in love with you? And did I mention there's nothing I can do? And did I happen to say I dream of you every day? Well, let me shout it out loud if that's okay! Yeah, if that's okay♫
"Hey!"
♫I gotta know which way to go, come on, give me a sign! You gotta show me that you're only ever gonna be mine. Don't wanna go another minute livin' without you! 'Cause if you heart just isn't in it, I don't know what I'd do. Because my love for you is ridiculous!♫
"Ridiculous!"
♫I never knew♫
"Who knew?"
♫That it could be like this! My love for you is ridiculous! My love is r-i-d-i-c-u-l-o-u-s! ♫
"R-i-d-i-c-u-l-o-u-s!"
"It's--"
"Ridiculous!"
"Just--"
"Ridiculous!"
♫And I would give my kingdom for just one kiss!♫ "Come on now!"
Carlos grabbed Sage by the hand and started to twirl her around, lifting her up every other time and dipping her low to the ground before pulling her back up.
"I didn't know you could dance!" Sage gasped breathlessly.
"I didn't either!" Carlos breathed out, laughing as the two of them danced in front of Ben. Soon, Prince Ben was in the crowd, next to Mal who held his blue jersey. The song was over by then, and Carlos had an arm around Sage's shoulders.
"I love you Mal, did I mention that?" Ben panted.
"Chad's my boyfriend now!" Audrey stole the mic from Ben's grasp and announcing to the school. Sage rolled her eyes with a scoff. "And I'm going to the coronation with him. So I don't need your pity date." With that, Audrey gave Chad a kiss right on the lips.
Sage watched as Evie's expression drop from excitement to disappointment, her heart dropping itself. But, Sage shouldn't be surprised. Chad was a prince, he could have every girl under his finger. But not her.
"Mal!" Ben exclaimed while he grabbed the mic back. "Will you go to the coronation with me?"
"Yes!"
"She said yes!"
"You know, you shouldn't give up," Carlos suddenly said, making Sage look up at him in surprise.
"What?"
"On Evie," Carlos informed. "She likes you, she just doesn't know how to. . .express it. She's never really liked anyone before, much less another girl. Just give her time."
"Thanks, Carlos," Sage smiled at the boy.
"No problem. Just keep in mind, I'm rooting for you two."
