The Separation

Jerry remembered flashes of that night, they smacked into him as he tried his best to sleep in the new bed that he had been given. It had been roughly 3 years since he had been taken away from the life that he'd grown used to.

He closed his eyes and thought back once more to that night.

Smashing and shouting were ever abundant , he hid with his mother in the closet of his bedroom, wondering how long it would be now that they had to hide tonight. When his father hit the booze, it was never a good sight to behold.

This night, however would prove to be 100 times worse than what could have ever happened.

"Jerry."

His mother said as she looked at him. Jerry blinked as he looked at the number on the phone and then frowned. She called the police? What for? His father was having a bad day, it wasn't anything that he'd never seen before.

"No matter what happens. You're loved and I will not ever stop loving you. Your father needs help. He needs to be stopped."

Krystal said with wavering sobs spilling out her mouth. The door was flung open and she was dragged out by the hair. Jerry was left all alone. This scared him greatly, his mother would get punished for this, or worse. Why did she do that?

The screams from outside soon ended as did the shouting and soon, all he could hear had been the silence. Should he get out ? Was it alright now? Had his father calmed down now?

Quietly, the boy eased out of the closet and noted the mess. Blood and pieces of hair were ever present. His mother had struggled, very violently.

"F-Father?"

Jerry called out shakily.

"Mother?"

Jerry yelled out as he reached the stairs, that's when the lights hit him. He was blinded and put his hands up to shield his eyes from the harsh light.

"It's a kid!"

Came a rougher sounding voice, that wasn't his fathers tone.

"Holy shit, a child lived in this hell!?"

Came another voice, Jerry felt himself be lifted up and began to scream and struggle. What was going on?! Where was his father?! His mother!?

"Mother! Father!"

He shrieked as he was dragged off by the man and placed into some kind of large van. The boy felt his mind cave in and he froze. Had his mother...did this? Did she break their family up on purpose ?! If she had then why didn't she leave ?

Nothing made sense, it all hurt his head. So much so that within a few moments, he ended up passing out in this strange place, all he'd wanted to do was for to wake up and this just be a nightmare.

But little had he known, his real nightmare was just about to start.
