So, we moved to Ohio and enrolled into a new school. I was scared to death of what people would think about me being a hybrid, but I just went with it. But I was surprised to find that there were other hybrids. Those hybrids, were the girls.
*Flashback*
"I don't want to go to school!" I complain. "Can't we just be homeschooled?"
"No, you guys have to go to school. I can't really afford for you guys to be homeschooled right now. And besides, if that were to happen, we would have stayed in Arizona. Now get something to eat and get ready." Dad explains.

I get off the bus and follow Ty into the middle school. Sabrina and Adam don't ride our bus because they couldn't find a house near us for sale, so I just sit with Ty on the bus. But they do live in the district. I flatten my ears and wrap my tail around me.
"Bub, I'm scared." I whine.
"You'll be fine." Ty says.
"But I don't have any classes with Sabrina."
"You'll make some friends."
"What if they don't like me and I get bullied again?" Ty stops and turns around and looks at me.
"Crys, if anybody hurts you, I will deal with it. I don't want you to go through that again. I promise, alright?" He says. I nod. Ty smiles. "Now, we need to get to class. School starts at 8."

I look at my schedule. I have to go to Mrs. Hanks' class first for study hall. I feel nervousness churning in my stomach. I take a deep shaky breath and walk into the classroom, right before the bell rings. I quickly take a seat and put my backpack on the floor. Oh god. I feel like I could get sick.
"Crystal babe, you look really pale. You feeling alright?" Mrs. Hanks asks. The whole class looks back at me. Great. My face heats up with embarrassment.
"Yeah I'm fine." I reply. She nods and starts introducing herself. I block her out. Of course. Sabrina moved with me so I wouldn't be alone, but the school didn't put us in any of the same classes. I only get to see her at recess, but at lunch I can't sit with her because she's in a different class! 'This is so damn stupid. The school already hates me. Probably because I'm a stupid hybrid. Mom was right, I am a monster.' I focus my attention back to Mrs. Hanks. Everyone's just talking and Mrs. Hanks is at her desk on her computer. I look at the clock and see that the class isn't even halfway over yet. I sigh. This is going to be a long year.

I sit down at the end of the table. I wish the 7th graders had lunch with us. 'But what would be the point? I wouldn't get to sit with my brother or Adam anyway.' I take a bite out of my sub when a girl with red hair, red eyes, black sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black and white Nikes comes up and sits next to me.
"Hi, I'm Lava! What's your name?" She asks cheerfully. 'Who names their kid Lava?'
"I'm Crystal." I mutter. Lava frowns.
"What's wrong?" She asks. I sigh.
"I don't feel comfortable being here. I was bullied at my old school because I was a hybrid." I explain.
"Did you not meet any of the other hybrids yet? This school loves hybrids you know." Lava says and points over to where Sabrina is with 3 other hybrids. Ones a Husky, another's a wolf and the last one is a unicorn. There's another girl there with blue hair. 'There's more hybrids!?'
"I know one of them." Lava gives me a confused look. "We moved from Arizona together. I've known her since kindergarten." Lava nods in understanding.
"Want to come over and join us?" She offers.
"Won't I get in trouble if I'm not in my class?"
"No. I'll tell the lady you were lonely. She'll understand." Lava says. I smile.
"Ok."
*End*
