You got off the bus and walked home from school, passing by strangers and even bumping into some. Your feet unconsciously carried you to through your everyday path. The same buildings, shops, people sitting at their windows, your favourite ice cream parlour and the city park where a beautiful fountain flowed and sprung from dawn to dusk and could see the moonlight shine every night through the clear sky. Usually you would stop and admire the crystal water for a few minutes..but today you were thinking of something so deeply that you didn't even realise when you reached your apartment.

You entered and pushed back the door behind you as you slowly walked in , dropped your bag on the sofa and sat down , resting your back which was paining a lot without your realisation

??? : Y/n .. what's wrong?

You turned around only to see the woman turn off the tap, place down the plate on the kitchen platform and sit beside you .

Y/n : oh aunt! .. nothing's wrong

You gave a faint smile seeing her concerned

Y/a : You didn't yell "I'M HOME!!" as you came. There's definitely something off from the past few days.. You know you can always tell me.

Y/n : ughh.. it's just that-

You sighed.
Y/n : a week ago..

FLASHBACK

You were busy doodling in your book as you heard your teacher say

Teacher : students! An important announcement!

Your ears got attentive, as this was the time of the year when you would go on camps. The day you've been waiting for since the start of your schooling , now that you were in highschool. It was on your bucket list forever. You just loved stargazing too much.

You didn't lift up your head, just listened carefully

Teacher : we have a new student who will be learning with us for a week , later he may join the class. You can go sit in the last seat o-or wherever you wish

You now looked up ,confused .Your school wasn't the one to make such exceptions , especially for students
What was up with this one?

You looked up only to see a guy with a black hoodie and black jeans walking towards the last bench. He had his hood on so you couldn't see his face or hair or body .. or anything at all.

He just sat there , silently.

You tore your eyes from him and looked at your best friend sitting infront of you. You were so surprised how your school made such an exception so you just couldn't stop yourself from asking this to her .

Y/n : do u know who this guy is?

Jennie : OMG y/n! don't tell me you don't

Jennie ,she knew everything that goes on in the school, from who got scolded by your physics sir , to who broke up with whom, she knew it all. She had to know about this guy. You always trusted her, loved her , even tho she pissed u off all the time , she was with you in your hardest times and warned you when you were going the wrong way. She was really the best.

Y/n : oh c'mon!! You are like the news page of the school

Jennie: I mean even the rest of them know about it too!!

Y/n : ugh whatever, just Tell me!!

Jennie : alright hoe , chill. He has taken such 'demo' classes in other divisions too, uk the girl who got half wet by the godforsaken prank by momo?

Y/n : uhh yeah

Jennie : she told me that in her mom's school ,he took such classes there too, but never stayed more than a week ,maybe he won't here either. Students suspect he's upto something wrong.

Y/n : what?? How ?? I mean how could one say that ?

Jennie : see, he never talks , nor looks at others , just sketches all the time, those who barely managed to see his face , they say he's expressionless . And also.. his parents never show up , yet somehow his fees are paid for the timebeing.

"There's a lot to this" you thought. "This was the first time I found someone 'intresting' or wanted to know more about them personally , it made me excited , curious , it made me think..."

Teacher : enough chitchat children!! We need to study more about phrases

Your favourite part, you loved literature a lot. You forgot your thoughts, opened your book and listened keenly

Teacher : One will come at a time and write the best phrase, proverbs or quoted that you know on the board. No repetitions , less common ones will be appreciated, if you make your own it would be great.

Your classmates started to go one by one and write some phrase or quote on the board. The teacher and explained the meaning of it

Teacher : very well Namjoon , "you should know your limits, but not stay within them, overcome them each day" you made that on your own didn't you?

Namjoon : yes ma'am

Teacher : really good , you will do great in life , keep it up

He came back and sat on his seat.

Jimin : everyone step aside! Mr brains is coming!

He said , while making gestures in the air

Suga : shut up, we know that , no need to announce

Yoongi said as he laid back more in his seat like he would sink in it

Namjoon : ofcourse you have to make an announcement at the arrival of the smartest student in the class , and guess who got a 2 in the chemistry test last week?

Jungkook : yah! I wasn't even in the convo!

He bounced up.

Jin : you accidentally called the beaker breaker, the whole class laughed their ass off for that. It's too legendary not to mention

Hoseok : let's just focus on the class can we?

Junkook : is "no" an accepted answer?

Namjoon: "no", no it's unacceptable

Junkook : ... *Loading*

The rest laughed as Joonie flashed his dimple smile which made you want to pinch his cheeks. It was enormous yet tight friend circle, you all basically grew up together. The 6 boys , Jennie and you. You would share each and every thing of your life with each other and also get on each other's nerves at the same time. There was no way you would have a bad day when these crackheads existed.

Teacher : that's enough examples for today I guess , but I want the last one from you

She said , pointing again to the new guy

Jennie : addition ,noone knows his name either .The teachers never say his name

Teacher : and if you ever admission, i would like to see you without a hoodie . Better if some other colour than black

She said in an addressing tone, yet it was hesitant.

He made a 'hm' sound and nodded his head obediently, went and started writing something on the board as the teacher handed him the chalk

You noticed. Golden brown hair , cream-ish skin. That's all you could see as he wrote. "Gosh why! how is this so difficult?" You muttered as you bent a bit trying to see him as Jennie chuckled.

Then he stepped aside and let everyone read the sentence as you did the same. You read it as it somehow managed to send shivers down your spine ..

"A jewel once damaged is just a shard of broken glass"

The teacher was stunned .She just smiled and nodded as he went back and sat in his bench as if nothing happened, but the whole atmosphere of the class had changed.

The next few days , every time the topic would come up in a literature lecture, the whole class would go silent for a moment and everyone would know why.

TIME SKIP
Today

After class ,you were sitting in middle of a war where yoongi was pulling the jeon jungkook, twice his size to his level by the ear and giving him a nice class for saying the 'f' word accidentally when jimin jumped on his back.

Yoongi : That's how those are bad words, which you shouldn't say! I've failed to bring you up correctly

Jungkook : but you say those all the time!

Yoongi : I'm older than you!

Jungkook: by five months hyung!

Yoongi : you still call me hyung!!

Jin : does anyone else notice that yoongi is most active during fights?

Namjoon : oh hell yes

You rolled your eyes at them , as they kept bickering. Just then , you spotted him . His pencil fell down out of his sketch book which you always see him working on , his hand moved like it was made for it. You were damn sure they were good. You went and picked it up , and called him.

Y/n : hey!!

You realised he was wearing his earphones. You sighed, approached him and tapped him on his shoulder.

He turned to you , as you saw his face for the first time ever.

Y/n : your pencil..

"Damn , he really is expressionless" you thought .You couldn't get any details or features, just an overall blank look plastered on his face before he took the pencil and walked away hanging his head low.

"Not even a thank you? Rude"

You got back to the group with a stammering heart , as jungkook was now trying to bribe yoongi to mercy with oranges.

Today

Y/n : so.. that's how it was

Y/a : oh.. you know you can talk to him right?

Y/n : I know, it's just that it would be better if I could find out about him before talking.. just- ugh

Y/a : Orr

She got closer to you , and whispered

Y/a : you can steal your dad's "how to read a criminal" diary!

Y/n : OMG aunt! He's a head officer in our state police branch! You know he would be mad if I go in his room

Y/a : you can be sneaky~ c'mon! It'll be a nice detective game

Y/n : you know aunt, you can be childish at times , but you do have a point

Your eyes sparkled in excitement

Y/a : but promise me you'll read it and keep it as it is. And not use it for anything else other than knowing that guy . And even if your dad finds out , Do! Not! tell him my name

Y/n : I promise aunt,
Ok I'll go get it till you get me some snacks.

You were happy that now your aunt wasn't shipping you. She literally shipped you with every 6 of the boys but soon had to give up when you kept telling her they were your best friends and when she actually got to know them more. Thankfully this time , that wasn't the case, maybe not just yet.

Y/a : alright honey

You slyly opened the door and peeked in. Everything was just as organised as it would have been like 3 years ago . You carefully walked in as you made sure not to move a single thing from its place, or he would definitely notice it .You went to his fourth drawer at his desk and opened it. Under a few other old books , you found his "how to read a criminal" diary that he had wrote. You smiled widely as you kept everything back in its place and went to your room.

Taking out your phone, you texted Jennie.

I've decided.. I'm going to
investigate that guy

Jennie:
Omg!! Y/n will investigate
him and solve the mystery
of the mystery guy
(I think we need a better
name for him)

Y/n : Don't overreact Jen
He's not a criminal .. ryt?

You smiled and squealed as you opened the book and started reading. You were determined to find out about him , know him. You flipped and analysed the notes.
