Part 64 Wedding Celebration

RM was sparkling with colorful serial lights everywhere. The next day was Arnav and Khushi's wedding. Along with Arnav and Khushi the whole Beryl college was getting ready for their marriage. Arnav was happy like even before, expecting the BIG day of his life.

RM started becoming a crowd that never happened before. No need to say, it was because of Khushi. She called her friends to RM and made it brisk. She wanted to change RM's atmosphere completely and make it energetic. She knew it would happen to the brisky college students. Even Arnav started moving casually with his classmates.

A beautician team was drawing Mehandi on their class girls' palms. Ratna wanted to serve them snacks but was not allowed to because their classmates took the kitchen in their hands and provided snacks for Ratna and Arvind. They were on cloud nine to see them working for their son's wedding.

"Ratna, did you ever think our Chotte's wedding would happen this way?"

"I never thought his wedding itself would happen..." She said closing her mouth.

Arvind nodded yes smiling.

"Our Chotte is really a lucky fellow to have such a lively wife," Ratna said proudly.

"Yeah. See how she changed our house upside down..." Happiness sparkled in Arvind's tone.

Ratna smiled seeing Khushi looking at her palm where she wrote Arnav's name.

"Khushi..." She called her.

Khushi looked at her and showed her palm to her. Arnav who saw that tried to see her palm but before he did that, Khushi hid her palm.

"Why? Should not I see your palm?"

Their friends controlled their laughter. Arnav frowned as he didn't know why they reacted that way.

"Why... are... you... guys laughing?" he asked hesitating.

NK took a step towards him and whispered in his ear.

"You can see her palm only on your first night"

Arnav was stuck. He looked at his parents sitting like, WE DON'T SEE YOU. He shifted his gaze to Khushi who was looking at him teasingly as she knew what NK would have said. After all, they already completed their first night.

Though Arnav was glad to have their friends at RM, he was fed up as he didn't get time alone with Khushi. It was their wedding the next day. He wanted to spend a little time with Khushi before that. He wanted to make sure if their friends would leave or stay.

"Mom, no one needs to prepare dinner. We will order it. What say?" he asked intentionally.

"OK... ask your friends what they want. I will bring the food from a good restaurant" Arvind said.

"Guys, what will you eat for dinner?" Arnav asked.

"No no, uncle, we will leave. You can order for yourself" Lavanya said.

"Yes, uncle, we have to go," Preethi said.

"Yes, Aunty, they will come directly to the wedding venue tomorrow, " Khushi said.

"What about you guys?" Arnav asked the boys.

"How could we send girls alone? This place is so remote" NK said.

"This place may be remote but we are living here only, beta," Ratna said.

"You are used to it, Aunty but we are new to it. The girls may feel nervous. We will go with them and safely drop them at their houses"

"NK is right. They are new to this place. They don't know which bus will go to their place from here" Arnav said.

"Yes, aunty... we don't know. More than that. you guys need rest because tomorrow will be hectic for all of you." Lavanya said.

Preethi leaned towards Khushi and said,

"Especially, you should sleep tonight. Then only you can be up tomorrow" She whispered.

Khushi looked at Arnav smilingly who raised his brows. Khushi nodded her head from left to right.

"Arvindji, why not arrange transportation for them?" Ratna asked.,

"No need Aunty... don't think a lot. We will go by bus with our friends cheerfully. It will be fun" NK said.

Ratna nodded ok. All of them took their leave. Khushi looked at Arnav and said,

"Arnav, shall we go to the hut in the backyard?" Khushi asked.

"No Khushi, it's not safe to go there at this hour," Arnav said.

"But all the places are bright with serial lights..."

"No Khushi, poisonous insects can be there near the hut. Don't you know?" Arnav remembered how a snake was supposed to bite her the other day.

"When you are here with me why would I be scared?"

"I'm not a werewolf now, Khushi. I can't be as fast as before." Arnav smiled.

"Is it?" Khushi asked surprisingly.

"Yes, Khushi... the werewolf that lived in me is gone. Then, its power would have also gone, right?"

Khushi nodded with excitement.

"I'm a normal human now"

"That means, won't you hit anyone if they tried to misbehave with me?" She asked teasingly.

"I will kill them," he said without thinking.

"Oh, that means, it's not werewolf's feature but yours..." Khushi asked excitedly.

Arnav smiled.

"Ok, we will go there in the daytime after our marriage."

"If you want, we can go for a walk," Arnav said.

"Shall we?" She asked Ratna who was listening to their talk.

Before Ratna said anything,

"You can go Beta," Arvind said.

"Thank you, uncle" She looked at Arnav and said,

"Let's go, Arnav"

He nodded his head and walked out with Khushi.

"Are not they looking so good together?" Ratna asked admiring them.

"Yes, they are made for each other" Arvind smiled.

"I saw the news today that SP sir is going to be suspended," Ratna said.

Arvind nodded yes.

"That's why you didn't allow the children to switch the TV ON?"

Ratna nodded yes.

"I don't want to upset Khushi. After all, he is her father. Though she is upset with him, she can't tolerate his downfall. Don't we know how deep her love for her father is?"

"You are right. Let her be peaceful until their wedding. We will tell them about it after that"

"What will happen to him?"

"He is suspended for six months. After six months, he will be transferred to some other district. Or, maybe, to some other state..."

"I don't know what to conclude in his matter"

"Even though he DID wrong, I can't say he IS wrong. After all, he is her father. We would also not have allowed our daughter to marry a werewolf right?"

Ratna nodded yes.

"I don't know when Khushi will forgive him"

"She will... when her anger cools down," Ratna said.

Arvind nodded yes.

On the other side, Arnav and Khushi were walking in the path between the colorful rose plants.

"This place is so beautiful," Khushi said covering herself with a woolen shawl well.

"Khushi, if you feel cold, we will go inside. This is a time for us to be happy. It will spoil if you catch a cold"

"Mmm... we will go back after five minutes"

"Do you want to talk to me about anything?"

"Mmm... just feeling to be with you"

Arnav came close to her and circled her shoulders.

"Don't you feel cold?" Khushi asked.

"Nope... not because I'm not a werewolf. It's because we used to it" he smiled.

"By the way, what did Preethi say?" he asked.

"What?"

"When Lavanay asked us to take rest sleeping well, she whispered something in your ear"

"It seems, the sharpness of your eyes is still there?"

Arnav chuckled and said,

"Don't change the topic... tell me, what she said"

"She said especially, I need to sleep well and be in rest"

"Why?"

"Then only I can be up tomorrow night..."

"Don't I want to sleep? What if I sleep tomorrow night?"

"You and sleeping on our first night? I believed..."

Arnav chuckled.

"Not only at our first night... I can never sleep when you are up" he slightly tightened the grip.

Khushi smiled.

"What's there in your palm that I can only see on our first night?"

"See it on our first night"

"It's not our first night but the third night. Remember?"

"It is..." Khushi said.

Arnav frowned.

"As a HUMAN, it's your first night..."

"Oh..."

Khushi chuckled.

"Let's go... we should sleep well to be up tomorrow night"

He started walking towards the house, pulling her with him.

The next day

Arnav was waiting for Khushi on stage. She came and sat next to him with a smile. Arvind and Ratna looked nervous, looking in a particular direction. The Pandit forwarded the mangal sutra to Arnav. he tied it around Khushi's neck with a sky-high applause of their friends. He filled her partition with vermillion. They circled the holy fire seven times and completed the Phares. Arnav and Khushi took blessings from Arvind and Ratna. Their friends started wishing them presenting them gifts. Khushi was happily posing in the photos with Arnav. Her facial expression changed when she saw Shashi in the hall.
