Part 63 Beauty of Full Moon

Khushi sat in the back seat with Arnav. Arvind looked at Shashi feeling bad.

"Start the car uncle," Khushi said.

Ratna gestured for Arvind to do it. Arvind started the car and they left the place.

Arvind looked at Khushi through the rearview mirror and said,

"Khushi beta, I think you should reconsider your decision"

"What decision, uncle?"

"You are his only daughter..."

"Uncle, I don't want to defy you for anything. Please don't make me do it"

Arvind looked at Arnav through the rear view mirror who gestured him to be quiet by blinking his eyes. Arvind sighed.

Khushi looked at Arnav and asked,

"Do you know Sheetal's house?'

"Yeah... but why?" he frowned.

"Guide me..."

"But why, Khushi?"

"Why are you panicking? I just want to meet her. That's all"

Arnav looked at Arvind and said,

"Dad, go to Sharp Edge Road"

Arvind nodded ok and took a left turn. Arnav guided him to Sheetal's house. They reached a place within fifteen minutes. Arvind stopped the car in front of a house.

"Is this her house?" Khushi asked.

Arnav nodded yes. Khushi was supposed to get down, but Arnav stopped her by clutching her hand. Khushi looked at him.

"Is it necessary to meet her?" he asked as he guessed Khushi was up to something. After all, she was not ready to show mercy on her father.

"It is...come"

"Me?"

"Yeah, you..." She got down, pulling Arnav with her.

They entered Sheetal's house. They saw an old woman watching a daily soap with a woman in her middle forties. They looked at them.

"Who are you, beta?"

"We want to meet Sheetal," Khushi said.

"Sheetaaaallll" The old woman called.

"Whaaaat?" Sheetal asked from inside a room.

"Somebody is here to meet you"

"Whoooo?"

Before the old lady said, anything, Khushi said,

"Khushiiii..."

Sheetal rushed out of the room and stood, looking at Arnav and Khushi horrified. Khushi smirked at her.

At the same time, a man entered.

"Who are they, Sheetal?" The man asked.

"My friends, Dad," Sheetal said nervously, glancing at her mother and then at Arnav and Khushi. She couldn't conclude why they were at her place.

"Come..." Sheetal was about to go inside, but stopped hearing,

"That's ok, Sheetal. We can talk here itself" Said Khushi firmly, making Sheetal perplexed.

"Do you know why we are here?"

Sheetal nodded her head from left to right.

"My father tried to kill Arnav..."

Sheetal looked at the women who stood up hearing that. Her father looked at her shockingly.

"He did that because he believed your words..." Khushi added.

"What is she saying, Sheetal?" Her father asked.

"Uncle, we are getting married in two days. She called my father and said, Arnav is a Werewolf. My father trusted her. He tried to kill him but he could not as Arnav is not a werewolf"

"What's all this, Sheetal? Why did you do that?" her father asked angrily.

"He is the one who said that, Dad," she said pointing at Arnav.

"He said that because he wanted to check if Sheetal's love for him is true," Khushi said, making Sheetal shocked.

"Love?" her father gritted his teeth.

"Yes, she loved him. He told her that he was a werewolf... just to check if she really loved him but she bid bye to him. He said the same to me too. I accepted him ignoring what he said because he is a nice man. Sheetal could not tolerate us getting married. So, she called my father and asked him to kill Arnav"

"No, I didn't tell him to kill him. I just asked him to stop the marriage" Sheetal said hurriedly.

Her parents glared at her gritting their teeth.

"Then why did my father fully set to kill Arnav?"

"It's because he loves you so much. He wants you to live a normal life instead of making it critical with a Werewolf"

"Who are you to decide what I want?" Khushi asked.

"You don't understand the seriousness, Khushi. What if he is really a werewolf? What will you do?"

"He is not a werewolf"

"How could you say that?"

"I can say that because today is a full moon day"

Sheetal was stuck. She looked at the sky and then at the calendar. She could not believe Arnav was standing in front of her without getting transformed. She felt dejected seeing him in a human form.

"Just because he rejected you, you wanted him to rot in hell"

"No..."

"What to do? Your thinking would be like you...!"

Sheetal gulped hard.

"By the way, you are invited to our wedding. To invite you only we came here" Khushi said.

Sheetal glared at her. After revealing everything in front of her parents, how casually she was inviting her to the wedding...!

Khushi walked out of the house with Arnav. They heard her father shouting at Sheetal while hitting her.

"This is why you go to the college? What's so big love! Don't we know how to get you married? What so urgent?"

"Ahhh...dad, it's paining..." Sheetal shouted.

"Her father is hitting her," Arnav said.

"She deserves it" Khushi walked smirking. Arnav nodded his head from the left to right.

They reached RM.

"Aunty, please give Arnav something. he didn't eat anything for the whole day" Khushi said.

"Shall I prepare Dosa?" Ratna asked.

"You wait... I will prepare" Arnav said.

"It's ok, Chotte. Go and get fresh" Ratna went to the kitchen.

Arnav went to his room to get fresh. Khushi sat on the couch in the living room and waited.

Ratna started preparing HOT dosa for all of them. After she served them dosa, Arnav went to the kitchen.

"Mom, you go. I will prepare for you..."

"That's ok, Chotte..."

"Mom, eat hot dosa... or else, it will get cold in the Ooty climate"

Ratna nodded yes and walked to the dining. Arvind and Khushi were still eating. Arvind looked at Khushi and said,

"Beta, please don't mistake me. Anyone in your father's place would do the same"

Khushi was supposed to say something, but he stopped showing his palm.

"I don't care if you defy me. As a father, I know what it feels like. When Arnav was cursed, I literally died. I and Ratna did penance for his solvation. Parents always want their kids to be happy. If it is so, how could your father let you live a horrible life?"

"I'm happy you analyzed the problem from my father's point of view. Let me analyze it from YOUR(stressing) point of view. Arnav is your only son. He lived a painful life. I can feel how horrible it was for you and Aunty to see your son in pain. You have been waiting for his recovery for more than ten years. It's our luck he recovered before my father took any action. What if he transformed? What if my father's men shot him? What if he died? Will you forgive my father after that too?"

Arvind looked down gulping down.

"It's understandable if he tries to stop the wedding but who gave him the right to kill Arnav? who is he to do that?"

Arvind and Ratna were silent but Arnav wasn't.

"He is your father, Khushi. I saw his love for you. he made a mistake in saving you from the werewolf"

"So? So what? I would have killed myself if his men had killed you. What's the use of saving my life from the werewolf then? Do you think I will live marrying someone chosen by him?"

This time Arnav became silent because he knew it would not have happened. Khushi stood up to wash her hands.

"I will be in the guest room" Khushi walked not waiting there.

"Khushi is right" Ratna said.

"We too know Shashi's uncle is wrong but Khushi is his only daughter. She is getting married in two days. He would like to be a part of it" Arnav said.

"I think we should not talk about her father for a few days. Don't talk about it again and again and make her frustrated. Let her cool down." Ratna said.

Arvind and Arnav nodded yes.

"She is highly upset. Console her" Arvind said. Arnav nodded and was about to go to the guest room, Ratna stopped him by clutching his hand.

Arnav looked at her questioningly.

"I hope you will go to your room after consoling her," she said seriously. Arnav removed her hand smilingly, without seeing her face, and walked.

Arnav came to the guest room and peeped in. He saw Khushi standing near the window. He came and stood next to her. She looked at him and then at the Full Moon.

"I never thought this day would come into my life... (Khushi looked at him, turning her head) until you came into my life" he added.

Khushi smiled and looked at the moon.

"You know admiring the moon with you was my first desire after I fell in love with you"

"You told me that. I felt so helpless that day because I was not sure, you would stay with me after knowing the truth. I was scared too because I didn't want to lose you at any cause"

Khushi leaned her head on his cheat. Arnav circled her in his arms from behind.

"Isn't the moon so beautiful?" She smiled.

"Yes, but not more than you...! You made the Full Moon beautiful... my thoughts beautiful... my life beautiful...!"

Khushi looked at him slightly turning her head. Arnav was stuck for a second. Though Arnav was there to console her, he could not hold himself from kissing her. How could he be when he saw her lovely face in the full moonlight that shined more than the full moon? He kissed her on her lips. She participated in the kiss giving in.
