54 Shashi's plan
Part 54 Shashi's plan
Khushi rode the bike, glancing at Arnav who looked emotional. When they entered the lonely street, he encircled her waits fondly, and closed his eyes, keeping his chin on her shoulder. Khushi smiled mildly and slowed down the speed.
"Why did you tell your father like that?"
Khushi knew what he was asking about.
"I said what I will do"
"Won't you be alive if you don't get me?"
"No... I will not..."
"Don't say that even for fun"
"It's not fun"
"Khushi... we will be together"
"Then why do you worry?"
Arnav sighed and again closed his eyes. Khushi smiled tilting her head. Her smile broadened when she Sheetal coming from the opposite side. Arnav didn't see her as he was closing his eyes. He was not in the mood to see anyone or anything.
Sheetal stood at the same place rooted. She looked at them with disbelief. She thought Shashi would have house-arrested Khushi and restricted her from meeting Arnav but, it didn't happen. Instead, they were showing up closer than before. She averted her gaze somewhere when they came close to her.
Khushi intentionally stopped the bike in front of her and smiled brightly.
"Hi..."
Arnav opened his eyes, hearing Khushi greeting someone. Khushi felt his grip loosening. She clutched his hands not letting him take them off.
Sheetal looked at Arnav and then at his arms those were encircling Khushi's waist.
"I was thinking about meeting you," Khushi said looking at Sheetal and continuing.
"I wanted to thank you for two reasons..."
Sheetal gulped down.
"Thank you for calling my father, even though you were LIED. It was so helpful for me to tell my Dad what Arnav meant to me. He was stunned, seeing my stubbornness. I told him clearly that I wouldn't care even though he was a werewolf. And how did you think the superintendent of police would believe the werewolf story? Do you think is he a child who reads comics? Doesn't he know a werewolf is a mythological character that does not exist? I'm the daughter of a police officer... I know how to break the CASE..."
Sheetal tightened her jaws.
"Secondly, thank you for REJECTING this SWEET GUY," She said touching Arnav's cheek.
"If you had accepted him, ignoring the werewolf story, you would have been in my place now. Am I right, Arnie?"
Arnav smiled slightly.
"Thank you for not considering him, Sheetal. Love you so much..."
Arnav smiled at Sheetal's expression.
"Our wedding will be fixed soon. Even though our parents are not willing, we will get married" Khushi said sternly.
She kicked the bike.
"Listen... stop playing your cards... I will change it in my favor. Then, this guy will eventually melt in my love. See, how he is hugging me like a kid, emotionally..." She smiled at Arnav slightly turning her face.
Arnav snuggled more into the crook of her neck, making Sheetal gulp hard.
Khushi changed the gear and moved away. Sheetal stood, looking at the bike. She could not conclude what was her state of mind. She felt like crying but angry and disappointed too. What would Khushi have spoken to her father that she thanked her? What a father he was. How could he take a risk in his daughter's life? So what if the werewolf was a myth? Was not there a rumor spreading in the Ooty area about the werewolf? Then why was that stupid man taking a risk? She fumed.
On the other side, Shashi was dying in the hellfire. He could not digest the truth that Arnav was a werewolf. He didn't know how to handle it but he wanted to do something and save his daughter from the werewolf.
Taking his mobile, he dialled Aman. He attended the call.
"Yes, sir"
"What about the werewolf case?"
"We don't get any clue other than Velu's statement, sir"
"Don't you think something about how to prove the werewolf?"
"Sir, we can't prove the werewolf because it's a myth"
"You are saying that but I'm getting high pressure from the CM. Form a team to find about the werewolf"
"But, sir"
"We have to do that even though the werewolf is a fictional character. We should show that we are working on it"
"It's a waste of time, sir"
"How do you say so?"
"Sir, Velu is the only one who said he say the werewolf. If it is so, why any other tribal people aware of it? there is no forest death registered, sir"
"We will think about the possibilities later. We will have to act according to the CM's order"
Aman was weary. He didn't know why Shashi was insisting him to do something that would waste their time.
"Come to the SP office"
"Ok, sir"
Aman disconnected the call wearily and started his bike. He rode the bike towards the SP office. He raised his brows, seeing Arnav sitting behind Khushi on the bike. Only five minutes for them to reach the college. Aman came in front of them and stood raising the bike. Arnav blinked his eyes slowly, whereas Khushi looked at him sternly.
"ASR, I will drop you in the college if you want a lift"
Arnav rolled his eyes. Khushi Smiled at Arnav.
"For your kind information, this is Arnav's bike"
"Whaaaat? When did he buy it?"
"When I proposed to him," Khushi said.
"Is it, ASR?"
"Yes, he bought it only for me... to surprise me," Khushi said proudly.
Aman got off the bike and advanced Arnav. He extended his hand towards Khushi, making them perplexed. Khushi shook hands with him.
"Thank you for being DAWN to his life"
Khushi smiled at Arnav. Clutching Arnav's hand, Aman shook his hands, delightedly. Arnav got off the bike, and in no time, Aman hugged him and tapped his back.
"You are so lucky to have such a girl in your life ASR"
Arnav smiled at Khushi.
"You know Khushi, I never have seen him smiling. Now, he is smiling. That means he agrees with my words"
"But, I won't agree to it"
"Why?" Aman asked and Arnav frowned.
"It's me who is lucky here. I had no one for myself a few months ago but now, I have Arnav. He will do anything for me. He will go to any extent to be with me. Now tell me, who is lucky?" Khushi questioned.
"I'm the luckiest person. She is even ready to go against her father to get me. She won't be alive if she doesn't get me. Now tell me, who is lucky?"
Aman smiled.
"You guys both are lucky. I'm proud to be your friend" Aman hugged Arnav.
At the same time, Shashi crossed them in his jeep. He was shocked to see Aman hugging Arnav. He could not conclude who Arnav was to Aman. They could not be relatives because Aman was a Muslim. So, they must be friends. If they were friends, how could he implement his plan? He left the place thinking about it. He had no choice other than to drop his plan.
Aman took leave from Arnav and Khushi and headed to the SP office. he saluted Shashi.
"I'm relieving you from the werewolf case," Shashi said.
Aman was shocked, perplexed, and confused. What happened to Shashi? Didn't he talk seriously about the case? Then, why did he relieve him from the case?"
"You are right, Aman. You don't have to waste your time in the case"
Aman frowned because Shashi didn't talk about closing the case. He didn't say, WE don't want to waste OUR time but YOU don't want to waste YOUR time. That meant Shashi was going to continue the case with another officer.
Aman didn't feel bad about it as he didn't want to continue the case.
"Ok, sir..."
"By the way, how do you know Arnav?"
Aman looked at him surprisingly.
"I saw you talking to him and Khushi"
"He is my childhood friend, sir"
"Is it? Khushi said he doesn't have a friend except her..."
"She is not wrong. Arnav never had a friend. It was me who wanted his friendship. So, I always was sticking with him."
Shashi nodded. Aman was supposed to go from there, but he stopped and said,
"Thank you, sir"
"For what?"
"For accepting Arnav as your son-in-law... he is a nice guy. He loves your daughter so much. Very good choice, Sir"
Shashi smiled awkwardly.
"Thank you once again, sir"
Shashi nodded. Aman left the place. Shashi formed a special team to find a werewolf that was completely under his control to implement his plan.
To be continued...
