Part 47 It's a Myth

Shashi and Arnav were both shocked. Khushi nodded yes.

"However, I will marry Arnav. I want it to happen right away when we are in Ooty" She said.

"Do you think I will not spend enough time for your wedding?" Shashi asked smiling.

"No, Dad. I don't want you to spend only a particular time at my wedding. I had only limited friends. Now, I have a few in Ooty. I want all my friends to gather in Ooty because Ooty will make all of them happy. They won't think of skipping my wedding if it happened in Ooty because everyone likes Ooty."

"However your wedding will happen at Ooty only because the Groom belongs to Ooty. Then why urgent?"

"Dad, if you are here, you will manage our guests' needs and accommodation. You can't do that if you went to another place in India on transfer."

"So, you are ready to leave your father..." he asked. Arnav could not conclude whether he was serious or teasing.

"No Dad, I'm ready to bring one more relationship for yourself..." She said making Shashi smile.

He looked at Arnav who was suffocating.

"Ok... but one condition"

Both Khushi and Arnav looked at him curiously to know the condition.

"You guys should meet me every day and should stay here once a week"

Both smiled.

"What say, Damadji?" Shashi asked Arnav.

"Sure uncle" he smiled with a cute blush.

"Bring your parents, Arnav... we will take it further," Shashi said.

In no time, Khushi rushed to him and hugged him.

"Thank you so much, Dad"

"I always want your happiness and I will do ANYTHING for that," he said looking at Arnav.

"My daughter loves you so much, Arnav. She will never repent for deciding to marry you. That's all that I want"

Arnav nodded yes.

"Thank you, uncle. Her happiness is my responsibility" Arnav said.

Shashi speared his hand, asking for him to join the hug gladly. Arnav moved to him and hugged them together. He looked at Khushi proudly and she smiled at him.

"I'm leaving, uncle"

"Yeah, I will call Arvind later"

"OK, uncle"

That was when Shashi's phone rang.

"Excuse me" he went to take his phone to attend the call.

In no time, Khushi pecked Arnav's cheek and stood straight, making Arnav smile. Shashi waved his hand while attending the call. Arnav took leave from the craze father and daughter. Starting the bike, he came out of the SP bungalow smilingly. His smile had vanished seeing Sheetal standing looking at him.

As he expected her interference, he didn't show shock on his face. She came in front of his bike and stopped him, standing in the middle of the road, spreading her hand. Without reacting to it oddly, Arnav stopped his bike coolly.

"Strange... it's really strange to see you riding a bike"

"Why? Am I a circus clown or what?" Arnav mocked.

"Wow... from when did you start talking sarcasm?"

"Mind you tell me why did you stop me?"

"It seems you became the talk of the town...!"

"Me? What are you talking about?"

"Don't pretend like you know nothing, Arnav"

"I know many things but I don't know what you're talking about.

"The whole Ooty is talking about the werewolf that it killed a man in the reserve forest"

"Yeah... I too talked about it with my parents and friends. So?" Arnav frowned.

"Stop talking like you know nothing, Arnav"

"What's your problem? Tell me clearly if you want to know something. why are you wasting my time?"

"You are the werewolf. Didn't you tell me that?"

Arnav looked at her for a few seconds and laughed. Sheetal frowned not understanding why he laughed.

"Did you believe it?" he asked making her speechless.

"I lied to you," he said laughingly

"Whaaaat?"

"Yup... I lied because I wanted someone for myself who loved me unconditionally. After all, my wife will be everything to me. My life partner should be a BETTER HALF of me. She should not fall for me just because I'm looking good. She should love me from the bottom of her heart. To choose an amazing pair only I lied. By the way, do you think Werewolf is true? Crazy woman... it's a fictional creature... no one has ever seen it so far"

"No, a man saw that and told that about it in an interview..."

"He just said... did he show any proof? It's all for popularity...! See, with an interview, he became the talk of the town...Werewolf is a myth" he laughed again.

Sheetal was staring at him gulping down. She could not believe Arnav lied to her because she saw nervousness in his eyes when she talked to him about Khushi. He was angry like hell but said he lied. How it was possible? She didn't believe when he said he was a werewolf. Now also, she didn't believe when he said he was not a werewolf.

More than anything, she felt betrayed. How could Arnav do this to her? He avoided her by lying. Did she miss him? How could anyone choose a werewolf? Anyone would do the same as she did.

"Did Khushi accept you?" She asked controlling herself.

Arnav nodded yes.

"Did you lie to her too?"

Arnav nodded yes again.

"Did she still accept you after telling her the lie you told me?"

"Yes, I lied to her too. Still, she accepted me"

"I can't believe this..."

"I too can't believe that..."

"How did it happen? Why did she accept you?"

"She had a simple answer..."

"Simple answer?"

"Yeah... just because of the one-night transformation, she was not ready to go away from me. She said she would be there for me after every painful full moon night. What else do I need more than that? I really melted" Arnav told her the truth as he was TRULY melted when Khushi said that to him.

Sheetal gritted her teeth.

"I won't believe it"

"Ok, don't believe." He wore the goggles gifted by Khushi and kicked the bike.

Sheetal stood looking at him who looked damn handsome with the goggles. Arnav left the place, riding the bike stylishly. She bit her jaws to control her anger. She could not take it easily. Arnav cheated on her. She felt it as humiliation. More than that, she missed a handsome guy who wanted to give an important to his life partner.

On the other side,

Shashi attended the call, after sending Arnav off.

"Haan, Aman"

"Sir, we arrested Velu"

"One minute"

He looked at Khushi and said,

"I have to go, beta. I will come back soon"

Khushi nodded ok.

Shashi started while talking on the phone.

"That's great. What is he saying?"

"The press reporter who came to the SP Office to meet you was the one who took him from there, Sir. He was the one who made Velu spill the beans"

"Where is he?"

"I'm taking him to the police station, sir"

"No, bring him to the SP office"

"Ok, sir"

"Does anyone know about his arrest?"

"No, sir. We arrested him in the forest area when he went back to his home after giving the interview"

"Make sure, he will not come out of the prison"

"Yes, sir. we will file a case against him for disturbing the people's peace of mind and creating panic."

"Do it... he should not open his mouth anywhere from hereon"

"Sure sir"

"I'm coming to the SP office. Bring him there"

"Started, sir"

Aman disconnected the call and took Velu to the SP office.

SP Office

Velu sat on the floor, circling his knees. Aman looked at Velu.

"SP sir, doesn't want you to go out of prison"

"Why sir? Is telling the truth wrong?"

"Do you have proof?"

Velu was tongue tied.

"What do you think? Will people believe anything you say?"

Velu was silent as he became nervous.

"Do you want to see what people feel about it?"

Velu gulped down hard seeing him so confident. Taking his mobile, Aman showed Velu the news.

"What do you think? Is the werewolf true?" the reporter asked the same question to the various people.

"No way..."

"It's a myth"

"It's a fictional character added in the movies to make it interesting"

"Not at all..."

"How could it be true?"

"Werewolf? This is silly"

People gave only negative answers that made Velu feel low.

"See, no one believed it. Nobody will... what will you do now? I thought to help you and remove you from all the cases as you were ready to help us in the case but you messed it. From here on, no one will believe you for anything even thought you are right... you spoilt your life"

"What are you going to do, sir?"

"We are going to file a case against you for making people panic to get fame"

"This is not true"

"Is werewolf true?"

"Yes, sir, I saw that in front of my eyes"

That was when they heard,

"If it is true, why no one filed a complaint about it?"

"They should have been scared, sir," Velu said.

"Maybe, but after seeing your interview on the TV, they would have gotten courage, right? Yet, no one stated it so far. So, the werewolf is a myth"

"No sir..."

"Shut up. If it is true, why the werewolf hasn't seen anywhere after the murder? A few more full moon days passed after the murder. Why didn't it come out on the full moon day? Why has no one seen it?"

Velu was silent. he didn't know what to say as Sahshi's questions were justified.

"Take him to the prison. Keep an eye on him. if he talks about the werewolf again, encounter him" Shashi said dangerously.

Velu was horrified and nodded no hurriedly, closing his mouth. Aman took him with him.

In the meanwhile, Sheetal decided to meet Khushi to know whether what Arnav said was true or not. So, she walked to the SP Bungalow.
