Chapter 5

Marcus

From the moment she entered Adam's apartment, my world shifted on its axis. Silky, chocolate brown hair cascaded down her back, catching the light and gleaming like a rich tapestry. Hazel eyes sparkled with a warmth that made my insides tingle. And her body, well, that was a masterpiece. Dressed in a yellow sundress that clung to every curve, she was a vision – the kind that could make a man forget his own name.

Adam had never mentioned how stunning Mallory's sister is, and it caught me off guard. I stand on the sidelines, observing as she greets everyone with a natural charm that seems to radiate from her. The way she smiles, the genuine warmth that envelops her, is nothing short of mesmerizing.

Then, her gaze locks onto mine, and for a split second, the world narrows down to just the two of us. My heart skips a beat, and I'm sure she feels the tremor in the air. She's a knock-out, and her eyes hold a magnetic allure that draws me in.

Throughout the evening, I make no effort to conceal my glances. Every opportunity to look at Melanie is one I seize eagerly. Her radiant smile, genuine and captivating, makes my heart race. She is, without a doubt, the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. It's not just one-sided; I sense that she enjoys catching me looking at her.

Game on.

I feel the determination surge within me. Tonight, I have to make a move. I need to see her again, alone this time. The prospect of spending more time with Melanie becomes a singular focus, overshadowing the lively chatter and laughter that surround us.

As dinner progresses, I find myself drawn into the conversations, my attention drifting back to Melanie whenever possible. She engages with everyone effortlessly, her laughter like a melody that weaves through the room.

At some point, Logan decides to tease Emma, because she was reluctant to get on his motorcycle.

Emma frowns playfully. "I just don't like getting on death machines, Logan." Laughter ripples through the group, and I can't resist chiming in.

"Come on, Emma, motorcycles aren't that dangerous, especially with Logan at the helm. He's a sensible driver," I say, defending the thrill of the open road.

Logan raises an eyebrow at Emma, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Did you have fun, though?" he asks.

Emma blushes, admitting with a shy smile, "Okay, maybe a little."

Another round of laughter ensues, and that's when Melanie sighs. "I really like motorcycles."

A spark of excitement ignites in my chest. This is my chance. "Funny you should mention that, Melanie. I happen to have one," I say, throwing a glance her way.

Her hazel eyes light up with curiosity, and she leans in, asking, "Really? Will you give me a ride?"

I seize the opportunity, my heart racing. "How about tonight?" I suggest, hoping she'll take the bait.

Melanie pauses, thinking for a moment. "Well, I have my car here," she points out.

My heart sinks for a moment, but I quickly recover. "No worries. I can take you for a ride and bring you back here to pick up your car. What do you say?"

A grin spreads across Melanie's face, and she nods her head. The excitement builds within me; finally, I'm getting a chance to spend some one-on-one time with her. The prospect of having Melanie on the back of my motorcycle fuels a rush of anticipation.

The rest of the night seems to drag on unbearably slow. Every passing moment only heightens my anticipation. When Emma and Logan finally decide to call it a night, my heart starts hammering against my ribcage. This is the moment I've been waiting for. I steal a glance at Melanie, and our eyes lock. She smiles at me, and then her gaze shifts to Mallory.

"I'm going to head out," Melanie says, catching Mallory's attention.

Mallory stands up, hugging her. "Goodnight, sis."

I jolt to my feet, seizing the opportunity. "I'm leaving too," I announce.

Adam gives me a bro hug, and we exchange goodnights. Melanie and I exit the apartment together, stepping into the hallway. The air is charged with anticipation as we make our way to the elevator. Without exchanging a word, we enter the confined space. Melanie presses the button for the ground floor, and the doors slide closed.

Leaning back against the elevator door, I rake my eyes over Melanie from head to toe. A smirk tugs at the corners of her lips, and I can't help but feel a surge of confidence. I decide to break the silence, "So, you like motorcycles?"

Melanie nods, her eyes sparkling with a hint of mischief. "Yeah. I love the rush of adrenaline I get when I'm on a motorcycle."

A smile spreads across my face, and I meet her gaze. "I can give you the rush of your lifetime," I say.

"Oh, really?" she responds, a glint of challenge in her eyes.

I nod confidently and she takes a step towards me, placing her hand on my chest. "Bring it on", she says, her eyes looking deep into mine, lips slightly parted.

The moment intensifies, but just as it reaches its peak, the elevator doors slide open. Damn it. We exit the elevator and step out into the cool night air. Melanie walks in front of me, and I can't help but notice the perfect, round shape of her ass. It's small but perfectly proportioned, and my eyes can't help but linger for a moment.

Once outside, Melanie takes a moment to look around, and I walk past her, turning around and walking backward as I crook a finger at her. Melanie grins and follows my lead. We head towards the motorcycle, and I can sense the anticipation building between us. I hand her a helmet, retrieving another from inside the bike.

As I mount the motorcycle, I motion for Melanie to join me. I can't wait to feel her behind me, her legs spread, arms wrapped around my waist. Melanie mounts the motorcycle and adjusts herself to be closer to me, wrapping her arms securely around my waist.

"Are you ready?" I ask.

"I'm ready," she replies with a smile.

I start the engine, feeling the familiar hum beneath me. The night air is cool against my skin as I pull out of the parking lot, with Melanie securely behind me. The thrill of the ride, the sense of freedom, and the closeness with Melanie create a euphoric sensation.

The city lights blur into streaks of color as I guide the motorcycle through the lively streets. Melanie's grip on my waist tightens with each turn, and the vibration of the engine beneath us resonates with the pulsing energy of the city. I can feel her excitement, and it brings a deep sense of satisfaction.

As we leave the city behind, the road stretches ahead, leading us into the forest. The forest path is a winding ribbon through nature, and the serenity of the surroundings complements the thrill of the ride. Melanie's grip on my waist remains firm, and I find joy in her touch, the engine's hum harmonizing with the rustling leaves.

After a while, we head back to Adam's apartment building, and I guide the motorcycle to a stop. Melanie gets off the bike first, and I follow suit. She hands me the helmet, and I place it on my bike next to mine.

"Thanks for the ride," Melanie says, her eyes gleaming.

As Melanie steps towards me, I take a step too. Grazing my fingers down her arm, I feel the electric charge between us. "I had fun tonight. We should do it again sometime," she suggests.

Moving my hand to her waist, I pull her closer. "How about tomorrow?" I propose.

Melanie smiles, snaking her arms around my neck. "That sounds great."

Time slows, and the world around us ceases to exist as our lips finally meet in a soft, electrifying kiss. The softness of her lips against mine send shivers through my entire being, and I can feel the warmth of her breath mingling with mine. The taste of her lips is a blend of sweetness and a hint of excitement, creating a flavor that lingers on mine.

Melanie parts her lips, inviting me in, and the kiss deepens into something more passionate. In that moment, I know; I am completely and utterly smitten with Melanie.

And I will do my best to make her mine.
