Chapter 26
Max
I drive to the front of the music studio and park. If I keep driving, I might ram into someone's car. Getting out of the car, I go straight to my chill zone, where my friends and I usually stay. Everyone is present and I'm about to sit down when I noticed Sierra.
"Hi, Maxie," she says, waving. "How are you?"
Maxie? When did that one start? I just wave back. What she just did reminds me of what just happened at Lexis' house. I never meant to yell at her like that but I couldn't bring myself to say it, she looked really pissed off. I sigh. Staying in the same space with Sierra will only worsen my mood so I leave them and head to the balcony that's at the rooftop.
Looking at the sky still doesn't help my mood. Everything here just reminds me of Alexi. I was wrong. Even if I wanted to defend my friend, I shouldn't have done it that way. I know she'll forgive me if I apologise but can I forgive myself? I really wanna go back there but I just don't know what's stopping me.
"What's wrong, Max?" I hear Khaled ask me. I turn back to see him standing behind me with Sam.
"You look miserable," Sam adds. I chuckle mirthless. I definitely feel miserable.
"The love of my life isn't happy with me," I say, looking at the sky.
"You mean Alex?" Sam asks. Who else, Sherlock?
"What happened?" Khaled asks. It's painful to recount but I manage to tell them everything.
"What pains me is that she doesn't think I could defend her like that anywhere," I lament.
Khaled sighs. "You were wrong to yell at her that way. In fact, I don't see why Sierra should be the cause of an argument. Anyway, you screaming at her that way must have made her feel belittled and less important to you."
"But-"
"That's the impression you created so it's not her fault for being hurt," he explains. I bow my head. I messed up real bad. Sam hasn't said anything since I finished my story. I don't know if it's because he's disappointed in me or because he's thinking of what to say.
"Sam? Are you okay?" Khaled asks, speaking for both of us.
The younger man sighs. "I don't know how to say this but Alex may not be far from the truth."
I crease my eyebrows. Please what is everyone seeing that I can't see? "How?" I ask.
"I won't say anything, before you quarrel with me too. Just know that you need to trust Alex on this. You'll understand later," he says and walks out.
Khaled puts a hand on my shoulder. "Take his advice, bro and go get your girl back. Sierra is too little to come between the two of you."
A/N
Hey guys. Please you people should not kill me oo. I know this chapter is short but I was tired and had mild writer's block. Don't worry, I'll make it up to you in the next update.
Bye,
