I can't believe I got paired with Lance. He keeps giving me "I hate you" side looks like I'm the problem. Lance is the one always baiting me! If anything, this is his fault.

We are walking the rocky range, careful not to twist our ankles. Lance is in front of me, because earlier he insisted on leading the way.

"I can't believe this," he says, holding his arms out like and airplane for balance. "Who does Allura think she is? A princess? First she insulted my lovely ears, and now this? What's next?"

I roll my eyes and respond. "First of all, Lance, Allura IS a princess. Second of all, your ears are terrifying."

I smirk at the ear comment and Lance turned around and stuck a finger in my face.

"Shut it, mullet!" He snarled in my face. I only laughed at him.

"Just keep walking, Lance." I say.

He turns and continues walking, me following 5 feet behind him. Suddenly he stars running.

"LANCE? LANCE! COME BACK HERE!" I yell at him, but he continues to run. I run after him.

What a bonehead! We could twist our ankles or worse and we'd both be dead meat!

I see a cave up ahead.

I'm running hard, and I don't see his arm stick out to stop me. I run into him full force, and we are both knocked down.

"Keith! Quit playing! Your gonna wake them up!" Lance scolded me like a toddler.

"Wake up what?" I question. But Lance doesn't need to answer that. Four blue snarling beasts surround us.

Great.

"What do we do?" I whisper. "Don't you have a plan?"

"Why would I have a plan?" Lance responds.

Of course he doesn't have a flipping plan.

"Fine, let's wing it." I summon my bayard and it immediately turns into a sword. Lance whips out his and it changes to a gun.

I charge and the beasts attack. I shove my sword into the chest of one of the beasts. I quickly draw it back to slice off the head of the next one. Lance shot down the other two.

"I totally had a plan, see? Dinner and a place to crash!" Lance said proudly as he points to the cave.

"Your little plan almost got us KILLED!" I yell at him.

"Simmer down, hot head! The key word is almost." He smiles and heads into the cave.
