Beer Bread (MystresMyna)

Beer Bread

This is a truly simple bread to make and it is one of my go to breads for almost any occasion, because you have so many options with all the different kinds of beer and it is super quick to make.

You have two options with the recipe as well, you can use self-rising flour or regular flour, I have given directions for both.

So here is the recipe -

Ingredients

3 cups flour (sifted)

3 teaspoons baking powder (omit if using Self-Rising Flour)

1 teaspoon salt (omit if using Self-Rising Flour)

1/4 cup sugar

1 (12 ounce) can beer

1/2 cup melted butter (you could use 1/4 cup if you like)

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Sift dry ingredients together and then pour beer over and stir until well incorporated. It will be a very thick and sticky batter.

Pour into a greased loaf pan. (I normally use silicone loaf pans that I have sprayed with Pam)

Pour melted butter over mixture.

Bake 1 hour, remove from pan and cool for at least 15 minutes.

This makes a dense golden brown bread that is super crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. I normally use Budweiser beer, that is what we have on hand. But I have tired several of the flavored beers, that have cinnamon or other things in them and they are wonderful. I have not tried it with whole wheat flour but I am sure it would be great especially with an ale or other flavored beers. I think the Harvest Pumpkin would be great to try!

If you decide to try it let me know how it turns out!
