I really can't believe my story is coming to an end, I'm so thankful for everyone who supported me from the beginning till this moment and everyone who's been reading, voting and commenting. I totally enjoyed the whole journey from day 1 and I'm so emotional right now cause I don't want it to end. Anyways, hope you enjoyed the ride with me :) and new shoutout for erikakekikoku22 ;)

Chapter 15

"Is Eve okay?" James received a message from Maria just before he went to bed "Yes, Ben was telling the truth, this time, it was just sleeping pills. Didn't know you cared that much about her." he replied

"Yeah, I totally hated that bitch, it's just that I didn't want anyone else killed because of me."

"Have some time to talk?"

She called him "Yes I have nothing but time, David is out to get food, but I have a question, what was Eve doing at the Buckleys'? She was definitely fighting with Wesley."

"She was probably fighting with him cause he's the one who told us about her cheating on Andrew with that director to cast her in the role. Eve would do anything for her reputation."

"So what did Miranda tell you? I mean Lucy. Oh God, that's really confusing so Jessica or Sierra is actually Sia, Lily is Nikki, Jackson is Ben and Miranda is Lucy."

"You think that's confusing?" he laughed then he told her what Lucy told him

"Who do you think that HE person is? HE seems really dangerous, do you think he's even here in Sunset?"

"Believe me, Maria, I have no idea. Anyways, it's been a very long day I need some sleep and a mind break."

"Sure, good night."

"Thanks"

Maria sat thinking of what James told her but eventually decided to take a mind break too 'what's taking you too long David' she thought. She grabbed her jacket, went outside her room and walked to the lobby to ask about David since he wasn't answering his phone

"Your friend left the hotel a while ago, miss, but he hasn't come back yet."

"Ok, thanks."

"Thank you for giving our hotel a second chance after the incident."

"I needed a place to stay"

"We'd love to offer you a free drink at the bar."

"I'd love that, thanks."

Maria texted David that she's going to the bar then she walked in only to find a familiar face that she used to fear and hate till only a few hours ago when he saved her life, Andrew, so she walked over to him.

"Hi," she said

"I think that's the first time you initiate a conversation between us."

"I was terrified of you okay?" they both laughed "but now I wanna thank you" she continued "If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have been here now, Ricky and Nina would've been blamed for the murders and Jackson and Miranda would've gotten away with it."

"No need to thank me"

"How did you know, though, that Jackson took me inside to kill me?"

"I'm not that stupid Maria, I noticed you were watching me and all of a sudden you were gone, so I went to search for you."

"Wow, so you're saying I'm not a good spy?"

"The worst" he smirked

The bartender gave her the complimentary drink, then she turned to Andrew again "If I wasn't that desperate for a drink, I would have definitely poured it on you." She took a sip "I'm an awesome spy."

"Sure," he said as he stood up "I need to leave now"

"Okay, bye."

"Bye," he said as he walked away and Maria went back to her drink then he turned to her "By the way congratulations."

"What?" Maria turned but she didn't find him, he already left 'oh maybe for solving the case, I totally deserve that drink now huh?' she thought

After finishing her drink, Maria decided to go back to her room, and David was still not picking up. She went up to the room, opened the door and walked in, there was a dim light, candle light she walked further into the room and found David standing in front of her in a black tux and a bow holding a red rose "I was just about to call you to get here." He said handing her the rose "I wanted to get you all the flowers in the world, but no florist was open at this hour."

"Well, I'm here now."

"Take a seat and listen, I need to tell you something." she sat in the armchair and David turned on some music 'Photograph by Ed Sheeran'

"I know today was one of the worst days of your life," he said "but I hope what I have to say will change that." he smiled at her and got on his knees opening a small navy blue box that contained a diamond ring, she looked at him with glittery eyes, smiling from ear to ear and she started blushing, covering her face with her hands.

"Remember the surprise I told you about before? That was it and I got really mad that it had to be postponed. I don't want to be talking too much ruining the moment and I didn't have time to practice my speech, but simply I love ever since the moment I met you and ruined your beautiful dress, I love your excitement and positivity, your smile, your kind heart and everything you are, so will you please do me the honour of becoming my wife?"

"Do you even have to ask?" she smiled biting her lower lip giving David her hand to put on the ring "definitely YES" she jumped into his arms hugging him.

Moments later, they heard knocking on the door "That must be the housekeeping with the food and the chocolate fountain I ordered."

"Oh my God" she laughed.

David walked to the door while Maria stayed in her chair checking the ring 'Andrew must have seen David holding the box or something that's why he congratulated me'

The next morning, detective James went to the train station to pick up detective Ethan and tell him everything Lucy said "Do you think she's lying about not knowing anything about their boss?" Ethan asked

"I'm not sure, but from the look of it, she was terrified of him. Anyways, by the time we get to the station, all the guests must have finished their witness statements and signed, so the case is almost over."

"yes, finally, hopefully, no more deaths" he laughed, "I think the HE and the organization are highly professional and dangerous, so we need to put them as a priority after this all and not just here, all over the country."

"Exactly"

They took a cab to the station and when they arrived, there was a huge crowd in front and an ambulance. They ran inside to check out what's going on and they found Liam right in front of them. "What happened?" James asked

"It's Lucy" Liam shouted "We were too busy with the witness statements and no one went to check on her from last night, so after finishing with all the guests, I included, they went to check on her and found her choked to death."

They went to see the body, her face was pale, eyes wide open and terrified, her hands were freezing cold.

"The doctors said that there are no fingerprints," Liam said

Then they heard one of the doctors shouting from inside "Look what we found"

It was a small plastic bag containing a paper, he pulled the paper out and read it out loud "Congratulations, now all of them are dead and you'll never get to me. Thanks for making it that easy for me to get rid of them, you basically handed Lucy over to me."

They all looked at each other speechless.

"Wake up sleepy head." Maria heard David's voice

"I feel like I've been sleeping for a year" she said "what time is it?"

"It's almost 12"

"Oh my God, I should've been at the station a long time ago for my witness statement."

"It's okay, we'll go now, but no breakfast first?"

"Not really, I need to get this over with and move on, then we can get breakfast and leave to Twinbrook" she smiled in relief

They got dressed and went to the station only to be greeted with the news from James.

"what did HE say in the note?" David asked

"Congratulations.." James started speaking when Maria interrupted

"He said what?!"

James repeated what he was saying, but Maria's mind was already somewhere else 'What if Andrew's congratulation wasn't for either my cleverness, nor my engagement, but a hint for me, but why would he reveal himself to me?" she thought

Maria finished her witness statement and so did David, but she didn't share her assumptions with any of them and decided to put it all behind her now and focus on her future. David went to the train station to get them tickets to Twinbrook while Maria went to the hotel to pack up, she was done and then wore her jacket from the night before when she noticed something in the pocket, it was a letter.

"Dear Maria,

By the time you read this, I'll be gone, but I know you're very smart Maria and you'd have definitely figured it out sooner or later on your own, so why wait for later, I need to give you a proper explanation about everything, apologize for dragging you into this and tell you that you shouldn't feel any guilt for those who died, it wasn't your fault, they got what they deserved.

Sia never knew who I was, she just knew me as they call me the He, but I did know her ever since she joined the organization; she used to work from Twinbrook first, but I made her move here to Sunset to get her closer to me and for her that's how we met, just randomly when she moved here. The funny thing, though, is that she never knew I had anything to do with this and eventually I made her fall in love with me, the real me not the HE, just like I did fall for her and she trusted me with some of her secrets, like her real name, but not about the organization though, she just told me she needed to get things done then she'll tell me everything after, but she didn't get to do this, because they killed her.

They never told me their plan, they just acted on their own and took away from me the woman I love and my baby, so I needed to avenge their deaths cause I couldn't see them living their lives normally after what they did. I knew Nikki was a little mentally fragile and I started getting her crazier and crazier, sending threats and I knew she'd hurt herself, then I knew that at that party Ben would try to kill you, so I just decided to pretent to be the hero, you thought you were watching me, but actually I was the one doing the job and Lucy was easy, I just sent someone in to kill her like they sent someone before to kill you for the notebook which I definitely didn't approve of. Speaking of that notebook, Sia actually left it intentionally for me on her seat because she knew I was following her which I also intentionally made obvious, but you found it and took it first, all of those hints and clues were for me, you know just in case anything happens, you were too clever and were able figured out the hints on yourself, so congratulations on that.

I didn't want to get you involved in this mess and believe me ever since they sent that guy at the hotal and I knew your life was in danger, I've been doing my best trying to keep you safe. Who did you think the witness at the train station who said he didn't see you push Lily, she jumped was? I'm not telling you this, so you'd thank me, I just wanted you to know I'm not that horrible person, I'm fair, I hurt people who deserve it and you don't. Everything I did was out of love.

You might be questioning how someone in my age was able to build such an organisation, well, to be honest it was my father's hard work over the years. when I was 19, my father died a MYSTERIOUS death and shorty after the funeral, his 2 partners contacted me, I realized then why my dad used to visit Veronaville that much and ever since, the organization has been growing bigger and bigger day by day.

Do whatever you want with that letter, it doesn't matter Andrew is now all gone after signing those witness statements, it was just another one of aliases. So I guess this is goodbye.

Maria read and was in a state of shock and confusion 'should I give it to the police?" she though 'but why do I feel that I shouldn't? It's not cause I owe him a lot for saving me or because I sort of felt bad for him which is weird, but I don't wanna drag myself into this again even if he's a murderer and a drug dealer. I really don't know what I should do, I'm so freaking confused right now. I think I'm gonna go to James.'

Maria took her suitcases and signed out of the hotel then went to James' apartement, she decided to leave the letter for him and leave. As she bent to slip the letter from under the door, she heard someone walking to the door and he opened it.

"Hey" James said

"What are you doing here? I thought you were at the station"

"I forgot my wallet here yestetrday, so I went back to get it, do you need me or something? Oh come in."

"I came to leave you a goodbye letter and a thank you note" she said as she hid the letter in her handbag "but you're here now in person so thank you for everything."

"No, thank you, without you, we wouldn't have solved this. Oh wait, I have something for you." he walked into his bedroom and Maria sat on a chair when she noticed a lighter on the coffee table, so she took it and grabbed the letter from her bag then walked to the fire place to burn it and just forget about it, but james came back holding Sia's notebook. "You have a very cool fireplace detective." she put the letter in her bag again.

"I found that notebook in the fridge." he laughed

"When Lily/ Nikki was trying to kill me, I told her I burnt it, but I didn't, I might now, though," she used the lighter to make a fire at the fireplace then threw the notebook in but decided to keep the letter. "Rest in peace my dear notebook" Maria said then she turned to James and hugged him"Goodbye, I'll actually miss you, but thank God for technology. keep in touched" she smiled at him.

"Goodbye" he smiled back

she left the building and took a cab to the station to meet David 'I can't believe I'm finally leaving' she thought 'I decided not to tell James to keep him safe and I'll keep the letter somewhere safe as a protection, so Andrew wouldn't try to hurt me.'

She arrived at the station and found David waiting, he took her luggage then they walked to a near bench and sat waiting for the train.

I can't believe I just wrote those 2 word, 6 letter, the end, OMG my story is finally over! I have an announcement to make, but first, shoutout to NMAboElhoda yesterday you texted me "Is Andrew the HE?" I really didn't know what to say cause I didn't wanna reveal the ending to you, but also I didn't wanna lie :p

Back to the announcement :) I decided that Maria wouldn't tell the police or anyone about the letter cause maybe, only maybe, there would be a part 2 to the story. I'm not sure yet cause I wanna work on other stories, but I'm working on an idea, all I know is that Maria and Andrew (the HE) would be in it, it will discuss the MYSTERIOUS death of Andrew's father, also I really want Eve in it and she'd be more famous then. David and James would most probably be in it too. Let me know what you think about the idea guys :)
